  1. I have a 2009 DJ and I am very happy with it. I have not had any major issues and would buy another one.
  2. I have a 2009 R/T. It is my understanding that the 2009's had an alumium hood and a composite rear hatch.
  3. I also have a 2009 R/T and find it to be a very smooth ride. The demo unit I took out impressed my wife and I for its quiteness and smooth ride and our own vehicle is just as good. At the time we were looking we also test drove a Ford Escape and Edge and we found that both of these had a much rougher ride than the Journey.
  4. BULB REPLACEMENT Low Beam Headlight, High Beam Headlight, Front Turn Signal/Park Light, Side Marker Light 1. Open the hood. NOTE: It may be necessary to remove the air cleaner filter housing and position the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) aside to replace certain the lights in the left headlight housing. 2. Rotate the applicable bulb and connector assembly 1⁄4 turn counterclockwise and remove the assembly from the headlight housing. 3. Disconnect the bulb from the harness connector and then connect the replacement bulb. 4. Install the bulb and connector assembly into the headlight housing and rotate it 1⁄4 turn clockwise to lock it in place. This is on page 462 of your owners manual.
  5. This will be the third winter for mine and I haven't experienced any problems. They are a great product.
  6. To me it looks like the auto stick feature is still there. Below the D position there is the slot where you can shift up and down.
  7. Go to the following website and scroll down to the Journey BackUp camera and download the pdf. This is the install document for the Journey backup camera. Hopefully it will provide some useful info. http://explorer.cekli.com/articles/pdf/backup-camera-kit
  8. The rest of us on the road appreciate the fact that you have to stop to enter an address. Don't try to bypass this safety feature....
  9. Mine doesn't have the mini journey but a circular arrow with the x2 inside it. This is the remote start and you must press it twice.
  10. The cargo mat fits pretty well. Not as snug as the front mats but it is a good fit and it has already saved me from some messes in the cargo area. Just take it out and hose it down. I also have the front mats. The Husky mats are a quality product and worth the price.
  11. I don't think what you had is the same problem. The wind buffeting is a common problem that I have had in all my recent vehicles and cannot be corrected by changing a cowling. Below is a portion of the Journey manual discussing this buffeting noise: Wind Buffeting Wind buffeting can be described as the perception of pressure on the ears or a helicopter type sound in the ears. Your vehicle may exhibit wind buffeting with the windows down, or the sunroof in certain open or partially open positions. This is a normal occurrence and can be minimized. If the buffeting occurs with the rear windows open, then open the front and rear windows together to minimize the buffeting. If the buffeting occurs with the sunroof open, then adjust the sunroof opening to minimize the buffeting or open any window.
  12. Picture doesn't show them too well but they look good and I haven't had any problems with them.
  13. I believe that is 1 of the sensors for the auto. climate control.
  14. Unless there is a problem the TPMS should reset itself automatically once the low pressure has been rectified. I just took my winter tires off. The first time I started the car after the summer tires were installed the TPMS light came on for a few seconds and then went off. It has not been back on over the last few weeks.
  15. I hope you ordered it with the beige interior. Pretty well all Journey's have the black interior and the beige is so much nicer. I have a 2009 R/T in Inferno Red with the beige interior. There are a few pics in the photo gallery. It is a great car. Welcome to the club...
  16. I have a AWD R/T and tow a 20 foot pontoon boat. Boat, trailer and gear is probably close to 3,000 lbs. Normal tow distance is less than a mile. Boat launch is loose gravel and I have never had a problem. A neighbour does have problems pulling his boat out with a FWD Caravan.
  17. There is no switch. They either come on when the car is running or when the headlights are on. They are accent lights and are very dim. It has to be very dark in the cabin to notice them. I doubt that you would know that they are on if the normal cabin lights are on.
  18. Sorry to disagree with everyone but the chrome grill adds a touch of class. When it's painted it looks just like a Caravan.
  19. Yes you can use a smaller size but you must get a size that maintains the same diameter as the larger tire so that you do not change the speedometer reading. The size specified for the Journey is 225/70/16. You must also get the proper rims so that it does not interfere with the brakes. My R/T had the 19" tires and I have installed 225/70/16 winter tires. I am finding that the speedometer is reading about 5% faster (as compared to my GPS) with these tires installed. You need to go to one of the tire web sites to check the diameter difference between the 2 tire sizes.
  20. I have a 2009 R/T that I ordered in April. It was built in July after the factory closings and was delivered in August. I have approximately 2500 kms on it and not a single problem. I too love the ride, it is extremely quiet and very comfortable.
  21. I have a 2009 R/T so I can't comment on the 2010 turn signals other than other forum members have stated that the amber turn signals have been deleted for 2010. I have ordered 16" snows and rims for the winter. There is more choice in both the 16's and 17's but the 16's are cheaper. I have also been told that for a winter tire having a higher side wall is better. I'm getting the rims, tires (Hankook), and pressure sensers for just over $1,000 installed. Of course it helps that my son works at the dealership.
  22. I have found with all the Ford vehicles I have test driven over the various years that their ride is very harsh and does not compare favourably with other cars/suv's. Before purchasing the Journey R/T, I first took out an Escape, which neither the wife nor I liked. We then decided to take out an Edge, thinking it would have a much better ride, wrong. I found both Ford's had a much harsher ride than the Dakota I had at the time. I like the look and finish of the Fords but I could not live with that ride. I find the Journey has a very nice ride and is extremely quiet. I also have become quite fond of the interior but I do think that the beige interior I have is far superior to the usual gray/black found in most Journeys
  23. My Canadian 2009 R/T has the amber turn signals as do all the other Journeys I have seen in Canada.
  24. I have that indicator light on mine as well. Maybe it's only on the Canadian models because of the daytime running lights. I downloaded the American owners manual and there is no mention of this light. I haven't checked my owners manual yet to see if it's in there.
