    LED lights

I just took delivery of my Journey and I have the lower level LED lights on the driver and passenger sides. They are a very low soft light and can only be seen if the cabin is very dark. If there is any light coming in from any other source you will not notice them. As stated they are only on with the headlights.
  2. I got my Journey yesterday and I love it. I had the Mopar hitch installed. I'll post more information next week.
  3. Just been informed by my son, who works at the dealership, that my Journey just arrived. The ETA had been delayed until this Friday as they were back logged taking the cars off the train, so they were not expecting it today. I hope to have it by this weekend. My son also said that the red with beige interior looks really good.
  4. Just got an email from my dealer. My Journey has been built and is in the shipping process. The ETA at the dealer is August 17th.
  5. My Journey is now scheduled to be shipped from the factory on August 4. It should be at the dealer in late August or early September.
  6. I have been informed that my Journey has now moved up 3 status ranks from "Available to Schedule" to "Firm Schedule" and they are expecting to get some dates very soon. The lease on my Dakota is up on July 3rd and Chrysler Finance wants too much money for a 6 month extension (that would be cancelled once the Journey is delivered). They want $618 CAN a month and I figure approximately $400 is what it's worth. They certainly don't seem to want to be supportive to someone who has not cancelled out during the American Bankruptcy, which has caused havoc with all their factories and vehicle deliveries. It's a good thing my dealer is supportive and is working out a much more realistic cost on a loaner vehicle.
  7. Before the American bankruptcy it was scheduled to be built by mid May and shipped with delivery around mid June. The factory in Mexico is now closed during the bankruptcy hearings. Because it was scheduled and had been assigned a VIN I am told it will still be built but there will not be much detail until the bankruptcy is resolved. My lease on my Dakota ends on July 3rd so I'll have to decide by late June as to whether I'll continue with the purchase or look for something else. There are other vehicles I like but will cost substantially more than the Journey. Right now I'm prepared to wait and see what happens. If I do cancel out I hope that some year end deals make some of the other CUV's a little more cost competitive.
  8. To install 22 inch rims you must go to a lower profile tire that gives the same overall diameter and circumference as the 16, 17 and 19 inch rims. If you can find one the sidewall will be very low and result in a much rougher ride. It'll look cool but won't be very comfortable.
  9. Go to any good tire web site and check out the specs. on the various size tires that Chrysler offers on the Journey. The diameter and circumference on them all will be within fractions of each other therefore no adjustment will be necessary. If you don't do your homework and put a tire size on that does not match one of the three available for the Journey then speedo and odometer may be out of wack and you may also have some rubbing of the tires.
  10. It doesn't make any difference what size of rim your Journey comes with, the overall size of the rim and tire are the same. The larger size rims have lower profile tires on them. This keeps the diameter of the combined rim and tire the same. More importantly the circumference of the tire is the same regardless of the rim size and they do not have to make any adjustment to the speedometer/odometer for the various rim sizes.
  11. I have a Dakota on lease that is going back very soon as soon as my AWD R/T comes in from the factory. It too has the chrome clad wheels that are a complete rip off as far as I am concerned. There is no way they can justify $600 for a plastic hub cap. It did make it easier when deciding what options I wanted on the R/T. There is no way I will ever order the chrome clad wheels. They do look good and I have not had any problems with them for 2 years but for $600 over the regular rims, I expect real chrome rims, not a cheap imitation.
  12. Just ordered a new Journey R/T AWD last friday. It is red with the beige interior. I always use forums like this as you can get alot of useful information and help. As I have ordered the trailer tow group I will be looking at the forum that has the trailer hitch topics. I will also be installing the side chrome moulding (I don't know why cars don't come with this any more) and the hood deflector (I would prefer chrome but I have only seen them in smoke). I chose this vehicle based on a couple of test drives and the value you get for the purchase price. The colour was between the light sandstone or the red, both with the beige interior. The red won out. I'm currently waiting to hear when it will be scheduled.
