  1. Having a problem with my 2013 Journey,<br />after switching back from my winter tires I noticed a small rumble and vibration in the front end, it appears whenever the car is moving (forward is all I checked), and coasting (foot off the throttle and foot off the brakes) it would rumble and shudder slightly.<br />In about 2 weeks the issue was much more severe.<br />Took it to the local dealer (still under warranty) they replaced a wheel bearing, all was good for approx 500KM.<br />The issue returned and it went from the low slight rumble to a complete all out front end shake and banging with in 60Km. Cant even drive it now, it's headed back to the dealership but Im curious if anyone else has this issue, I really dont want them throwing another bearing into it for a few weeks.<br />Sounds like the bearing worn is a result of something deeper in the drive line but when the bearing was new there was no underlying symptoms.

    MJR013,

I'm sorry to hear about the front end vibration you're experiencing. You mentioned that the vibration only started when you put the summer tires back on? Have the wheels/tires been balanced recently?

Be sure to speak with the Service Manager during your next visit.

  2. We have been getting an odor in the vehicle for quite some time now, over a year in fact. We asked the dealer to check the heating system to see if there were any leaks, but they found none. We have asked many people and read lots of suggestions online all dealing with leaks causing an interior smell. We decided to pull back the front carpet on the driver’s side as that seems to be where the smell is emanating from. Below the carpet and up the front covering the firewall is a foam-backed rubbery material which I assume is for sound deadening. We found that seems to be the source of the odor. Has anyone else experienced such a thing? This rubbery material goes right across the front of the vehicle and smells even on the passenger side when we pulled back the carpet there. I will be going to the dealer to see what they can do to correct this problem. There was no evidence of any leaks that we could see so we have no idea why this would start smelling. Any suggestions or information from others that have experienced similar problems would be helpful.

    Hi Matt M,

Sorry to hear about the odour in your Dodge Journey. Please keep me posted on what the dealer finds after their diagnosis. If you need any assistance, let me know.

  4. Well, the Journey has had the cylinder head replaced a week ago, and has been running like new ever since.

I also had the power seat adjuster replaced because something was loose in there which made a knock every time I stopped and accelerated.

While it was being repaired the dealership hooked me up with a rental...2016 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT with a 5.7L Hemi. That was fun!

    Hi Superbee,

Glad to hear the dealer was able to take care of you and hooked up you with the 2016 Ram 1500!

If you need anything in the future, let me know.

  5. Hello All! I just joined this site today. I own a 2014 Journey Crossroad. I have always been a fan of Dodge, maybe because my dad was always a Dodge guy (his first car was a 1969 Dodge Super Bee).

    Hi Superbee,

  6. The defect is well known to many owners - but a safety issue? Steering gets a bit heavier when rolling, but parking becomes a bear.

Interesting that the government is now playing the shame game . . . . I hope that this was a last resort in the sense that they pushed FCA who (perhaps not incorrectly) have said it may be a defect, but that it doesn't warrant a recall per-se.

Last I heard they switched PS fluid, because the problem was that the stuff would gel in very cold weather and pressure would build and pop the hose. I have not seen many complaints about this lately, which may also say something.

    Hi bramfrank,

There is a power steering return hose available for Dodge Journeys operating in regions where temperatures are -23 C (-10 F) and below. As always, please follow the specifications for fluids as indicated in your Owner's Manual.

FCA Canada suggests that if customers are experiencing an issue with the power steering hose, to contact their FCA dealership for a diagnosis or can contact FCA Customer Care.

    I hope this information helps.

  7. Just purchased a 2016 journey and it has the factory installed DVDs player and when u go to the DVD screen menu on the front seat screen it's says disc 1 and disc 2 in the top corners but can't find anywhere that says it's a 2 disc system or not. Don't really want to try and stick 2 disc in and wreck it, with one disc in u can click back and forth between disc 1 and 2 button and it doesn't do anything. Anyone know ?

    Hi Dodgefamily2016,

Congratulations on your new 2016 Dodge Journey. I would like to look into this for you. Please check your PM.

  9. Hi, I just received I think is a strange call from Chrysler Canada. It sounded automated. But when I said hello she asked me about a call I made to Chrysler Canada around Feb 25 about a recall. She said may I speak to the person who made that call. I paused because this didn't sound right, Then there was a click and I said I don't remember calling but I did ask here (This Forum) about the recall. She then said I will make a note, Then click . It sounded like when I asked a question the automation clicked on with a question too, Didn't ask for my name or any info. Not very professional what so ever. Has anybody received calls like this. Thanks.

    Hi MWG,

The call you received was probably from Patterson Chrysler. They were going to contact you regarding the R03 Recall. Please call the service department at the dealer. Their phone number is 905-871-4461.

  10. Pick up my new 2016 Crossroad a 10 days ago, discovered a little bit delay on Instantaneous Fuel Economy. This display shows the instantaneous MPG or L/ 100 km in bar graph form while driving. This will monitor the Fuel Economy gas mileage in real-time as you drive and can be used to modify driving habits in order to increase fuel economy. On my car bar graph start show up the fuel consumption and economy at 60 KM/H. Does any one experience this issue at any year of Journey, including 2009;2010;2011;2012;2013;2014;2015;2016?Does this issue year specific, or some sensor have to be replaced, to resolve this issue? On my 2012 Journey Crew, I do not have such a delay, for instantaneous MPG or L/ 100 km in bar graph.

    Hi Camper,

Did you get a chance to take your vehicle to the dealership for the instantaneous fuel economy display? If so, what was the outcome?

  11. Anyone else have the issue of your driver's window sometimes stopping halfway up ? Is this a feature if I do not hit the "auto" feature on the window up button properly? Does not happen all the time, but with the ok weather recently, I noticed it again. I put the window down again and re-try and usually it goes up all the way.

    Hi probak118,

I looked through the Owner's Manual, and found the following. Let me know if this works.

    Reset

It may be necessary at some point in time to reactivate the

Auto-up/Auto-down feature. To do so, perform the

    following steps:

    1. Pull the window switch up to close the window

completely and continue to hold the switch up for an

additional two seconds after the window is closed.

    2. Push the window switch down firmly to the second

detent to open the window completely and continue to

hold the switch down for an additional two seconds after

    the window is fully open.

  12. Hi, This is a question for the Chrysler reps that are members here. I received a recall notice for my 2008 Caravan and my 2010 Journey. I don't have the recall code as I write this but it has something to do with the ignition switch and keys. I went to my local dealership with the recall and was told it would be a while for parts. That was about 3 months ago. When I originally got the notice it was over a year ago because Chrysler said they were waiting for the parts to come in and that I would receive another letter when they were in. I didn't receive that letter. With all that said. Are the parts available or I'm getting the run around from the dealership. Thanks.

    Hi MWG,

We would like to review this for you. Please check your PM.

  13. Would the idler pulley be part of the powertrain warranty? I do also have the extended warranty. I would like to get this done but I am not paying out of pocket for it.

    Hi Journey_SeXT,

I checked the part #05281301AA, Idler Pulley and it is covered under the Canadian Warranty of 3 Years or 60,000 Kilometers, whichever comes first. If your service contract (extended warranty) is an FCA Canada contract, the idler pulley should be covered. Best suggestion is to contact your FCA Canada Dealer service department. Hope this helps!

  14. As it happens I recently updated my radio from 15.02.B2 to 15.09.D1 and the nav from 5.12/CTP15 to 6.22/CTP16. That's the gist of the program if your nav radio is working properly.

It is simple to do yourself by downloading the updates from www.driveuconnect.com/software-update and updating your radio and the nav with the latest firmware. It'll take about 20 minutes for both updates.

Note that pre-2013 radios use different firmware packages than the more recent models and the above firmware numbers I've mentioned are for the most recent model.

Just got this today in the mail anyone had this done? Stupid question probably.

    Hi xcaliber81,

In order to clear the outstanding recall, your vehicle will need to go to an FCA dealership. They will check the navigation for functionality first and then update the radio and navigation software level. If the navigation is not functional, the radio may require replacement. Please contact a dealer to make an appointment to have this completed.

  15. I've had my 2013 SXT for 2 years now.. I know the rear flip down screen worked since I tried it with the radio and the wireless headphones (about 6 months ago)...

I never really used the DVD player until recently (this past November), the DVD would play on the main screen on the dash no problem, but the rear flip down screen decided to stop working, you can't even power it on from the main screen or the remote, the radio display that worked before on the rear screen doesn't even work... I figured I would get it looked at the next time I'm at the Dealer for an Oil Change... I also noticed my DVD would freeze up after about 15 minutes, it's a brand new DVD, so I don't know what's up with that?

Just curious if anyone else has had similar issues?

    Thanks!

Hi Avistow, please keep us posted on what the dealer finds with the rear flip down screen for your DVD.

  16. Well....

I cant describe in glowing enough terms what this truck can do. Its like a tank, I dont know why. Its so soild on the road no matter what the conditions. The traction control is subtle and does what it should without inhibiting driving. I can also easily shut it off if I need to to get in a hilly driveway, etc as the button is right there on the centre console. I feel very safe with my family in this truck. We have put off the purchase of snow tires due to christmas, new baby etc and I worried endlessly about it. But Dodge comes through with a winner. I think I'll go hug my journey now.

I would love to hear how others find the truck...especially front wheel drive owners.

  17. Thanks! I know very little about cars, I just bought this one used 2 weeks ago, so I'm a little sad that I'm already having issues with it. this is the first used vehicle I've ever purchased, but I figured since it was 2015, and only had 20,000 km it would be okay.

I'll see if my husband can disconnect the power for me, otherwise I guess I'll have to navigate how to use the warranty as well haha.

    Hi Stacey:

I suggest contacting your local dealership to get a diagnosis. Also here is a link to your warranty manual: http://www.fcacanada.ca/owners/en/service_manuals.php?brand=dodge

  18. I did try that. The dealership called me. They told me that the last owner I guess had locked out the bluetooth connectivity somehow. They had to reset the whole stereo to get it working again. I am just waiting for them to replace my windshield and I go to pick it up. They tried two separate phones to make sure it worked after resetting it, and they said it seemed fine.

Not that I don't trust them, but I will be sure to try it before it leaves the parking lot.

    Devin Riches,

It's odd that the Bluetooth function was blocked somehow.

Good practice to confirm the repairs with an advisor when you pick the vehicle up.

Sounds like things are going good so far though.

    Thanks for the updates.

  19. 2015 DJ w/V6 5000km

I'm noticing an occasional pronounced miss when sitting at a light in gear. Anyone else experience this? Doesn't seem to affect drivability or engine power.

Making arrangements to take it into dealer to have them look at it, just curious if anyone else has experienced this.

    BrianS,

It could be something as simple as poor quality fuel.

As stated above, try to determine when it happens in order to demonstrate it for your dealer.

Please post up the fix if possible.
