  1. When I am driving and hit a red light after about 30 seconds my rpm will vary about 200-300 rpm is this normal?

    xcaliber81,

Did you notice the fluctuation in RPM all of a sudden or has this been present since new?

Please keep us posted after your dealer visit.

  2. @DodgeCACares,

I made a phone call to them on Monday this week and I have an appointment booked for this weekend to have it checked out. I did express my feelings to them and they are aware im not happy.

    Blackout,

    Thanks for the update.

Keep the Service Manager involved if you run into troubles as he/she will have the authority to make things happen.

Let me know if you need me to reach out to the dealer for further handling.

  3. I have 2014 Dodge journey and this same thing just happened to me, the doors just keep locking themselves. they stop when the dash lights go out. But while driving the doors lock and unlock, non stop. The tech said there is a setting on the dash where you can shut off the rolling door locks, no such thing.

Fixed, removed the ground cable let it sit for about half hour, lubricated all the buttons for door locks including the outside door handles, works perfectly.

    nash11,

    Great news!

A bad ground is always something to keep in mind to check.

  4. Hi DodgeCACares, Everything been great for a year with my Navigation until today it says Cant Unlock Maps

I Guess Back to the DEALER again to get my stereo replaced!

What a headache this is becoming to be

    Blackout,

Sorry to hear some issues have continued.

Have you had the opportunity to share this with your dealer yet?

Perhaps there is an easy fix available.

Keep us posted if you can.

  5. hello, I am at a complete loss...I own a 2011 Dodge Journey Crew and My rear left and right turn signals are out.....they blink super fast and front work though. Also my rear break lights are out but the back lights go on when when I turn on my night lights. Is this a fuse problem or bulb issue. I tried to locate a fuse for it in the fuse box under the hood but I don't see anything pertaining to either. I also see people on the forum taking about inside fuse box? Someone please help!!! Thank you!!

    Ann-Denise Anderson,

    Welcome to the forum.

Check the fuses as bigtsr mentioned, could be a bulb issue but unlikely that they are all burnt out.

It would certainly be worth heading over to your local Dodge Service Facility to have the vehicle looked at.

  6. I recently purchased a 2015 Journey CVP and absolutely love it. I have installed a mirror mounted aftermarket backup camera, stereo bluetooth intergration, and remote start. In love with the vehicle.

The only gripe I have is the lack of overhead storage (primarily for my sunglasses. Small yes, but still...)

My question is, if anyone is aware of any overhead storage compartments that I would be able to install that would match nicely with the Journey's interior.

I have done a bit of searching, but so far have come up empty.

Any suggestions or ideas would be great.

    demanded101,

Congrats on your new Journey and welcome to the forum ! ! !

I've reviewed our Mopar website and haven't been able to locate any accessories that match what you're looking for.

Have you spoken to the parts dept. at your dealer yet?

  7. Hi Everyone:

It gave me trouble even after getting the Mopar spark plugs and getting the codes cleared but then I tried dhh3's suggestion of making the Journey relearn the new FOB I had started using a few weeks ago. Since that, the car has been starting fine and the problem is resolved. :)

PS: The new FOB was not new (fresh from the dealer) it was new in the sense that I hadn't used it in the past year or so :)

Thanks dhh3, OhareFred, and DodgeCACares for replying :):worship:

    rampar,

Happy to hear you got everything sorted out! ;)

  8. Hi Dhh3

I started experiencing that problem a few weeks after I started using the second FOB.

I will try your tip and post the results back on the forum.

    Thanks a lot :)

    Thanks for your reply OhareFred:

My mechanic cleared the code and he changed all the spark plugs.

I think the code was P0300 (as far as I remember)

    Journey 2011

    3.6L Crew

    rampar,

Was it a case where the vehicle wouldn't start based on the check engine light?

If so, this happens to avoid any engine damage.

  9. Anyone make any headway on this issue. Sorry for digging up an old thread but I quite frankly am getting really sick of my neighbours reminding me constantly that my car wakes him up every morning. "Dodge doesn't know how to fix it" is starting to become a statement I am tired of repeating.

It's been over a year and my dealership is still saying Chrysler doesn't have an answer. I am starting to think they aren't looking very hard.

Awesome! Looks like this was issued just after the last time I was in. Thanks

    lytefall,

I can understand the frustration, head to your dealer and hopefully this bulletin will address the noise.

Keep us posted if you can.

  10. Why would you expect updates? Does it have any bugs that require updating?

Actually there was one back in 2011 to eliminate little MP3 dropouts, but it was my dealer that applied it.

    bramfrank,

You bring up a good point, software updates are ordinarily released to address needed improvements.

Does anyone on this forum remember the days when your vehicle was built, sold and driven?

These days, technological advancement is now in such high demand.

  11. Wes, things will only be looking up once the supervisor calls me and lets me know where do I send the bill for: brand new set of tires and comprehensive inspection and alignment that were needed. I'll assume the rotors and the pads, and the install, but I refuse being a putz and a victim. You guys either set up amicably with me on this or we can take it to court. The choice is yours

    Marius,

Please check your PM as I've responded with some details.

  12. Host of electrical problems:

    - Radio would come on full blast when car started.

    - solution: New radio under warrantee.

    - Electrical controls on steering column failure - No highbeams, no signal lights, no windshield wipers.

    - Solution - none yet. Problem resolved itself, but will it occur again?

(has happened only once (so far). Was returning home at night, distance of 150kms on mainly country

roads. Used 4 ways to turn at intersections. Luckely no rain that night. Warranty has expired so am

reluctant to take it to shop.

    - Rear door latch- Passenger side. 2 occurences. Latch would not engage when door closed. Door would

just bounce back open. Electrical, not mechanical - latch mechanism free and open.

    - Solution - none yet (as above, warranty expired). Problem solved (temporarily?) by repeatedly turning

on and off ignition, activating other electrical controls. Don't know which corrected the problem, just

    thankful door finally latched

    Chris Chis,

    Welcome to the forum!

Sorry to learn of all the issues you're having.

I realize your vehicle is out of warranty however there are still so many benefits in bringing your vehicle to a Dodge dealer.

The Service Dept. is best equipped to handle these issues as they have access to all the needed resources at the technical level.

The dealer's ability to identify the issues quickly will be far more cost effective for you.

  13. I have an 09 Journey and the power steering hose blew on my last week. I'm in Canmore Alberta and the temp had dropped to -17, hardly extreme weather here.

Today my TPMS gave out on me, one minute I'm driving 125km/hour, then I get a chime and not 20 seconds later my tire blows and the car ends up in an uncontrollable spin. I took it to have the tire replaced and the guy tells me this is common for the Journeys!? The TPMS corrodes and falls into the tire and causes it to rapidly deflate and shred. I understand the car is not new, but I've only had it for 34 days a am terrified to drive it now knowing I have three other sensors that could "fall" into my tire.

Have there been any Canadian recalls on the power steering and TPMS yet?

    Ducky,

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new to you Journey!

There are no recalls regarding power steering hoses or tire pressure monitor sensors for your Journey.

With regards to the pressure sensors in the tires, they are subject to corrosion over the years from road salt and other road debris and should be replaced as needed.

I recommend inspecting each remaining sensor to determine their current integrity and replace accordingly.

For the power steering hose, Mopar cold weather hose kits are available by region (temperature based).

Check with your parts department and they'll be certain to get the right components for you.

    All the best !

  14. Thanks. The actual mechanics report says that there was a corroded sensor connector, and they couldn't separate the two sensor halves, which necessitated changing the entire hub and bearing (?). Anyway it all worked properly on the drive home.

    YellowDuck,

Glad to hear things have been sorted out for you!

    All the best!

  15. My 2014 LTD dose the same going over speed bumps sounds like the front struts making noise rest of time it's fine ??

    ltdjourney,

Do you find this noise is more pronounced under certain conditions, such as colder weather?

I'd recommend getting your Journey to your dealer when you have a chance and duplicate the issue for them.

This may simply be a characteristic of the vehicle, worth a look though.

  16. Anyone have problem with brakes on 2014 DJ when pushing on brake it seems to go almost too floor and have to pump it again to get some peddle. But this morning when it was cold start tried brakes full peddle but drove for awhile get hot and back to same no peddle just very little . But if I pump it got full peddle but it seems to slowly go to floor any idea's out there can't take it to dealer until after Christmas if then don't . Thanks for any replies and answers to my question Thanks again and Merry Christmas to all.

So I got Journey in this morning ,had DJ for 1 hr checking and driving it couldn't find anything wrong, I wish it was them that the problem happen to I literally had no breaks until I pumped it twice . So I pulled of hwy to first motel and stayed until morning to find a dealer , but when I started truck in morning breakes weren't to bad so I trucked on but had to pump break twice to get a good break . So I made into Florida my destination and tried to into dealer but had to wait until this morning . Breaks seems to ok now ? but I'm still little leary about still. Don't know what else to say ????

    ltdjourney,

Sorry to hear about your experience.

Keep a very close eye on this and the conditions and circumstances if it happens again.

That way there your dealer will have a better opportunity to duplicate the issue and resolve accordingly.

    Keep us posted .

  17. he sat inside car for a few minutes came out and it worked. I asked him what he did so I could do it when it happens again. He said I would only have to come back and he would need to do it. He took no tools in car. He made it sound like he reset fob....going back tomorrow

    Diane,

Any news since your second visit to your dealer?

I recommend asking the Service Manager for a copy of the work order which would have the description of the repairs.

Keep us posted if you can.

  18. Hello,

If anybody out there has any concerns/doubts about how their Journey would fare in an accident, I now have personal experience to let you know that this is one extremely safe car. Coming home from work on Monday, i was stopped at a traffic light. All of a sudden I hear the sound of a skidding car. The last thing I remember seeing clearly was the high beam headlights of a Chrysler 300 coming right at me. I got T-boned in the driver's door by a car going over 100 kph! The side airbags all deployed, my steering wheel got shifted to the right and my DJ got shoved about 4 feet to the right. Let's just say that the investigating officer told me that if I did not have the side airbags, I would be in RVH in Barrie, ON for a good 2 months. All I had to show was bruises on my left side of my body where the impact zone was and where the interior door panels hit me upon impact. DJ is a total write off with damages amounting to about $13 000 in total. Now to find a replacement DJ!!

    Canadian Paul,

That sounds like a very scary ordeal, my goodness!

Glad you stayed safe in your Journey.

Keep us posted when you get your new Dodge.

  19. Thanks for the replies. It does make sense that it sounds like the engine shut off. I guess we would of checked the gauges as the problem was happening.I just remembered that we received a TSB from Chrysler about the ignition switch. I cant remember if its for the Journey or my Caravan. It said they don't have the parts right now and will send me a letter when to take it in. Thanks.

    MGW,

I would recommend documenting the event with your dealer at the very least.

Also, give the service dept. a call to check your VIN for any outstanding recalls, may not be anything incomplete but worthwhile making sure.

    All the best!
