I have a AWD 2012 R/T and have got 10L/100KM on a highway trip.......that's not bad at all.....IMO.... Your reading must have been both highway and city.......I notice the longer on the highway the better it will read. The average will go down................Caper...

I did E-mail Stampede just after I got the Journey and got a reply back stating the Chrome is not available for the Journey. I even have the 2011/2012 Canadian tire Special order Catalogue (Keystone as they call it) and the Journey is in there for 2009-2011 but not with the last digit of (8) for Chrome selection. I would be intrested to see other e-mail stampede and as for this part number to see if it is now sold. Part # 2260-8 Caper...........

Were you in Sales before the shop?.....J/K ........as you will know....it's very important to lube the slide post between and when changing the pads/rotors........This is usually done in a annual brake service the dealer want to perform. Most people's driving habits now include speed to the next light and stop hard, speed to the light after that and stop hard.....etc......Nobody really just comes to a normal stop anymore, everybody seems to be in so much of a hurry these days....it's the way life is now, even if you don't leave the green in in a hurry now...YOU will get the horn from behind you................IMO.......Caper............

Cost was not cheap $160.00 plus tax Canadian Installed and special order ......But covers full replacement if damaged or cracks and mounting........Smoked one was only around $80.00 he said.

Forgot to tell you no drilling hole.......4 spots under the hood that have double sided Foam tape.........And lots of room to wash between hood and deflector, and to clean out leaves and tree needles if needed..........Caper...

Going on a round trip from Ontario to Nova Scotia next week will keep track of Km fill ups and liters used for whole trip ......will let you know.....Caper.

Well didn't need to buy a smoked hood deflector and paint it. Shop in my small town found one made by Stampede and installed it today. Already had people taking pictures of it before it left the shop. Funny thing is.....I sent Stampede a e-mail asking them about the part number for the Journey with the (-8) added to the end for the CHROME selection , and customer support replied back and told me Chrome was not avaliable for the Dodge Journey. Well there wrong, unless this one was special order, Because it was not cheap. Anyway here the part number 2260-8 sticker under deflector states 2009-2011 Journey, But my is a 2012 ...So the hoods never did change from 09-12. Wow only $50.00 differance between cost and retail........I would have thought a bigger mark-up than that, Anyway may sure they do the "Sales Code programmed TIMP" to make the wiring harness active for you, instead of going back again to the dealer like I needed to do.........You will like the factory hitch....Caper.........

The dimmer that your missing .......is that the one for the small lights over the cup holders in the front doors? I really don't know what they were thinking ..............the lights are so dim you will never need to dim them anyway...........And why a second dimmer,they could have been on with the normal dash dimmer anyway......IMO....Caper....

The service advisor told me it was a recall.........while I was in the waiting room. I guess he don't know the differance then....I notice in your info................it's dated Jan 28 2012.........I was in late Feb/2012 for my first oil change and nothing was said then............How quick does the dealerships get these bullitens??........Thanks...........Caper.........

Well went to the dealer today for a oil change and filter....along with the programmed TIMP Sales Code for the trailer wiring to be active....And the service guy told me about a recall he can do today also that may cause the Engine light to come on.....(He said he ran my VIN #) Checked the invoice when I was done and it's listed as a "Rapid Response1" Correction:.....Performed Rapid Response....... Anybody have this issue and know more about this recall? Thanks...... 2012 Jourmey R/T AWD 3.6 VVT. Canadian issue.........thanks again.... ......Caper........

Trailer tow-prep-package does not even include the hitch....so no it does not include the receiver. However when the salesman took my hitch order when making the deal , he did ask me if I wanted the receiver and what size ball I needed.......they did get the 2" ball size correct ....LOL.....and was even mounted on the receiver .....ready to go when the hitch was installed....but like I said no power at my plug then...........Caper........

How can you say the hitch is only saving you $50.00 plus tax?? My was near $500.00 on my invoice to order a factory hitch when bought new. .......Caper..

1. Yes wires are in bag ....most people will not need them because the trailer tow prep package does not include a hitch. 2. I ordered my hitch when I bought new and the cost was on the invoice, so my hitch and wiring was done when it came in at no cost to me ...however the wiring has no power. 3.No....all aftermarket hitches I seen so far for the Journey are normal 2" reciever type . only the factory on is like pics above in my other post. So if you don't want the 2' reciecer sticking out go with the factory one. But if you already have for example a bike rake for a normal 2' ...then maybe the aftermarket is for you..........Look at the pics in this post and make you choice from there... 4.If you order the hitch from them ....tell them you want it installed when ordering........Should be around 4450.00-$500.00 installed ...hitch, wiring, flash everything,Canadian prices.... Hope that helps.... Getting my oil and filter done tomorrow, and the wiring flashed....Will let you know..how it goes...............Caper.........

When the hitch is ordered from the dealer,You already have the Trailer Tow Prep Package,and the dealer installs your hitch and wiring harness...........................why would you need to ask them to activate your tow plug?. ..Caper..................

Wow quite a list you got there....lots of wrecked rides......How does the Journey fair compared to the imports you had for pick-up and go....!!!!.........I happy with the 283 H.P My 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP(supercharged) is at 240 H.P.and that is a 3.8L ....Caper....

If your asking my about trouble getting my hitch.? Well bought the 2012 R/T back in Nov. 2011 and the hitch was put on the sales bill but was not in stock or in stock 3-4 days later when picking it up......so I got a phone call ..........no I didn't I called the salesman in Dec,as I was in no hurry anyway, It was in then.......so I just told him I will get it installed in Feb 2012 when the first oil change was do..........he said no problem, but did not want to see it hang around too long just in case it got used and re-ordered again..........they wouldn't do that ......would they????......LOL......Caper.............

double07 the hitch (aftermarket one) looks just like the one in the link above.........Large 2" reciever stright out the rear and the hitch frame drops below the rear plastics..........Caper..........

Did Dodge do anything with the brakes and rotors from 2009 to 2012? ..Caper.........

Well I knew about the wire hanging..........But I got the hitch put on in Feb/2012..........Did not need to tow until last month.............so it was not know right away about the no power at the plug.............I did phone the dealer and told them ..........But I will get it done with the next oil change as the dealer is about 1 hour drive each way...........I just got the hitch to tow the ATV's anyway so over the winter we don't use them anyway. As for the bumper cut the moulding looks great, most would not even know the cut was done after or right from the factory that way....IMO.....I don't even remember what it looked like before the hitch was installed........LOL... .I should take a pic of the 2011 CREW journey at work that has the aftermarket one that really sticks out for you............What do you think?................Caper...........

Hate to say it but......It looks like I did that wiring job in my backyard(I'am a Electrician ,I wouldn't even do that)................And there is no power at the plug .............still can't even tow yet.........The trailer tow prep package also came with a oil cooler................Hummmmm wonder if that is hooked up ...........LOL...LOL................Caper.........
