  1. Thanks, did mine a few weeks ago, forgot to post the 32 mm size axle nut, how many KM on your 2011 R/T when the wheel bearing went on you? Mine was very tight to remove after the four hub mounting bolts were removed. ........Caper
  2. Journey -SeXT................Where did you get the info (link) you posted?.Thanks...............Just wondering about the 118 ft/lbs. for the nut............Caper
  3. Thanks for your reply, I checked the SKF website and they list the torque for the front Dodge Journey Wheel Bearing 2009-2012 as 97 ft./lbs. so now I am confused......Also new nut should be used, Didn't know that either............Still would like to know the axle nut size, .......thanks again .......caper....
  4. I also noticed on the brand new SKF bearing there is no ABS wheel hub sensor built-in........I found that strange.........Caper.....
  5. well replacing another part on the 2012 front passenger side wheel bearing Only 65,000 km. Bought a premium SKF one 250.00 CAN with tax. 7. Just bought a set of 4 True Contact tires for my 2012 Journey R/T AWD..........Got about 65,000 from the factory Kumho's..,Worn right out and tread was even bubbled a bit on one tire causing the steering wheel to shake. Canadian Tires carries the Contential tires but had to go with a 235 instead of the 225 profile. Will kepp in touch if anybody wants to ask questions and see how long they will last, One question I can answer now is the 235 did not affect the AWD as long as all 4 tires are replaced at the same time.....Caper.....
  8. Have fun with the R/T Over priced in Canada just to get the AWD.........BTW You may want to price your tires and see how many other makes are out there now. there are more then back in 2012 , but still not too many
  9. I forgot two more issues......With one of the rear brake jobs ...(second one) the caliper was sized and needed replaced also, and the Kumho ties were rotated when the dealer had it down to be done. Second......the Wheel key lock socket stripped on the dealer and they could not get my four wheel nuts off when doing one of the brake services....Note please Forum readesr service your brakes more so if you live where there is salt and snow on the roads, So now I just have the normal wheel nuts on as they needed a master to get them off when I came back..................................So If it was that much trouble on a year old Journey, I said just put the normal ones on so I don't need the key socket.
  10. Well been awhile since I been on here. Wife uses the 2012 Journey every day, ( I use my 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix with 326,000 km on it)...LOL...................................Anyway the journey is back in the shop this week for a right front control arm bushing. .....Clunking in the front end. the total repair list with 48,000 km ..is two full rear brake jobs...pads and rotors.........power steering hose and pump replaced due to running dry...........Kumho tires worn out now near 50,000 km.............Front control arm bushing......service All Wheel Drive light .......Rear flashlight don't work anymore, passenger side flip mirror cover broken off.................... I really don't like to vent on here . but this will be our first and last Dodge anything. Anybody else have any of these issues.......................................thanks Robert

  12. Well I went out today and bought a pair of Canadian Tire Towing mirror ext. for my 2012 Dodge Journey R/T. I am towing a 101 inch wide flat snowmobile trailer 10 feet long with two Polaris Sportsman ATV's and a steel nose shield on the front of the trailer. The reason I bought the mirrors are (1) so I can see changing lanes, And (2) few people at work have got the $110.00 fine (one had a warning) here in Ontario ,Canada for towing without the proper view behind you. How many of you out there are towing with your Journey and can't see beside you to change lanes? I will post some pics and give a full review if anybody is intrested after this week-end of ATV'ing in Mattawa , Ontario. I did do some looking on the web and some homework also before I bought the ones I picked, these are a ratchet ones and should stay tight with no vibration or movement. and have rubber pads on the back to protect the finish on the rear of the factory mirror. I will follow up on this post for you forum members, if anybody is in the market for a set. Remember they are sold each, not as a set (the ones I have anyway).....Caper........
  13. yes you can test it...I didn't ........Why would I question the dealer install correct? The 4-pin wiring is as follows: White .....pin should be sticking out not protected is the ground. Yellow.... pin is the left turn 12 volt pin Green ....pin is the red turn 12 volt pin And the brown is your tail-lights.......12 volt......Make sure your tester is on DC not AC scale if it does not switch automaticaly. ...Caper........
  14. Has anybody found a adaptor to fit the Mopar Factory drop down 2" hitch to fit a normal 2" bike rack? I may need to get one made at work i guess..........My bike rack now will stick out at the bottom at a 90 deg. at dig into the road!!....LOL.....LOL.... Thanks any links will be great .........Caper..............
  15. did they do a flash on the comp. to activate the 4-pin wiring harness? My dealer forgot and after 8 weeks when I was finally ready to tow ...the 4-pin plug had no power..........I think it was there first also, or at least the tech's first one...........Caper........
  16. Do you have the Tranny temp. read-out on the driver info screen on the 2009 R/T model? It would be intresting to know what the temp differance is when towing and not towing? I didn't check mine differance yet , but it's only two ATV'S and a double snowmobile flat trailer....Caper..........
  17. Well Went in for a oil/filter maintenance check and tire rotation.........Service writer came to me in the waiting room and said my rear brakes are going to be replace no cost to me ....pads and rotors.........ONLY 21000 km .....AND 5000 of these KM were highway driving from Ontario to Cape Breaton and Back!!!..(not much brakes used driving four 12 hour days).....So really it would only have about 16000 km without the highway trip..........WOW.......Not even a year old until Nov 2012........Service report said 100% worn... Do they just do this to make money off Warrentee repairs? I did not ask to see the pads/ rotors , due to no cost to me, but if I was paying ...I would have asked to see them......Because I can't beleive they were 100% worn out!! They really need to address this issue nobody should be doing pads and rotors ever 9-12 mts................This will be my first and last Dodge if I need to do brakes every year........All my GM, lasted for years........... How your 2012 journey holding up? .....Caper/...........
  18. Anybody have any luck getting one on their own? ......Anybody order one from a dealer? ...Thanks...Caper..
  19. Well I took a trip home to visit family and friends last week Total trip was 4901.8 KM Spent $638.50 in gas and went through 495.821 L of Reg.unleaded fuel. Works out to be 10.12L/100 Km......although the message center showed 8.9L/100KM on the whole trip..............So you can't depend on the on-board reading to be 100% correct. So when you do the Liters over to Imp. Gal.this is what I got.... 10.12L=2.226 Imp Gal. 100Km=62.138 miles.... So you get 27.9146 miles/Imp Gal for entire trip. This value includes the whole trip including 110Km speed postings in N.B and N.S Along with the steep climbs around the Cabot Trail, if anybody was there ,you know what I mean. Also had 3 adults and one child ,back full of luggage. Journey was a 2012 R/T AWD with 12000 Km on it when we left and fresh oil change.... Thought some of you may want to see my findings, ...I did track all the gas stops and liters ,for the main reason to post the finding here for you members to view. 28 miles to the gal. is pretty good in my view ...and reading some of the other fuel mileage postings on here where drivers are getting very poor readings.........Makes you kind of wonder!!!!!!!!.....Hummmmmmm!!!! Bye for now....Caper........
  20. Well took my LED lights off my Avalanche when I traded it in....So guess what.....I put them on the Journey.......Amber LED running light with flashing turn signals and WHITE LED when the doors are opened(on with inside dome lights)............I have one pic now will get some better pics when it's not tooo dark...........For you info they are the "Big Rig" LED's from www.gorecon.com ..........Caper..........
  21. So did you place a order? Sounds like to me it is a perk for the dealers/installers to make a special order......Not for the everyday do-it-your-selve guy... ....Caper.....
