    Wow, quick response, guy.
Didn´t hear about that delay, I did notice web report was published a couple months ago, but I didn't think there was a more recent announce about this.
So, have got to wait a little more for seeing SRT's on streets.

That makes a lot of sense, and it also sounds dangerous
With the car parked but parking brake off, do you think I could move the caliper with my hands?

Possible that one of the rear calipers is loose. That is why you wouldn't hear anything when pushing the brake pedal.

Thanks for your help. I'll try to check those elements next weekend.

    Yes, it works pretty ok.
I'm not sure if parking brake is the same for automatic and manual gearboxes. Mine is manual, and parking brake is set on pulling up a lever between driver and passenger seats. It's not an electrical parking brake.

Yes, that's what I meant, sorry for my english.
I also thought it was something about suspensión, but, if so, why doesn't it sound when I press brake? It's enough to press softly to make noise dissapear.

Hello Raulb, I'm Spanish too, I'm going to write this post both in English and Spanish, to respect to other users and to make it easier to you.
When key is switched to "ON" position, without starting the engine, all needles should go up & down, as a test for they're working ok, is the fuel needle going that way? If not, as stated before, it may be broken.
You also can reset fuel mileage display, as now you have a high value (I use to see between 7.5 and 8.5 in mine), you should do this reset (hoding down the button for a couple of seconds) before driving a long (or middle) distance on highway at moderate speed, where mileage should be lower than 11.5 l / 100 km.
Also stated by Animal Mother, it could happen that fuel sensor unit is not working, and it's always placed at its highest level.
    Good luck.

Anyone of you are considering mounting a shark fin antenna?
I suppose it won't work for satellite radio, but for AM/FM shouldn't be any problem.
They're pretty cheap at Ebay or similar webs (yeah, China manufactured), and that's why I'm not sure how well they work. I don't want to mount an antenna which, when I'm driving at highway, I can't listen to my favourites radio stations, and it's fixed to the car roof with a sticker at the bottom, so, if you remove it, what will happen with the paint?

pacman got a reaction from jkeaton in Help needed Freemont 2.0 diesel 170hp
If we suppose 14.000 kms per year, mileage of 11,5 l/100 km for petrol and 8,3 l/100 km for diesel, and prices per l (in US $) of 1,45 and 1,41 (petrol and diesel), we can do this easy calculation:
    14000 * 11,5 / 100 * 1,45 $ = 2334,5 $ per year (petrol)
    14000 * 8,3 / 100 * 1,41 $ = 1638,42 $ per year (diesel)
So, difference is about 700 $ per year, certainly, that's a lot of money.
I think services in petrol engines are cheaper than diesel ones, with diesel you'd only need 1 oil and filter change per year, I don't know how often oil have to be changed in petrol engines, but that's not use to be an expensive service. I have no idea about insurance costs neither. The most relevant amount to be considered, IMO, is the swap cost itself, I mean, how much will you get for your trade in and how much have you got to pay for the new car?
PS. Of course, if you don't feel the diesel unit you have tested works ok, don't even think about buying it, it can be a nightmare.

I live in Spain and own a diesel DJ. Mine isn't tuned, so it's 140 bhp and 350 Nm (torque). As far as I know, Fiat has 2 engines, 2 litres both, but one is 140 bhp, and the other one is 170 bhp, ¿are you talking about tuning the 170 bhp to get more power?
About fuel economy, now you're going to test a diesel unit, and you'll realize that it's really difficult to get 7 litres / 100 km., you'd better figure about 8.5 instead. That's real life. Difference will be 3 litres / 100 km, depending of your style of driving, of course.
If you intend to drive 15.000 km per year (or less), and to keep your car 10 years (or more), I think swapping isn't worth, enjoy your V6, but, finally, it's got to be your choice.

Yes, I think it's boost (turbo) hose. It's not an expensive part (less than 100 € here).
rossjenelle, can you see a groove in the hose? Mine had to be replaced for that reason. Unfortunately, I didn't do it myself, and forgot to tell to the mechanic that new hose should be covered (2 layers, at least) with tape, doing so, new hose will last longer.

Somewhere, deep in this forum, there is a post with a link to a PDF File which I think it's what you're looking for. This is the URL http://www.gmb.be/CJD_parts/CD5/Catalogs/06-09/09jc.PDF

Wow, it sounds like a Turing test, in which you have to guess if you're talking to a computer or to a human being. Nowadays, natural language processing is very accurate, and computer calls may obtain a lot of information about all of us. Big brother is watching... longer than 30 years since 1984 :D :D :D

No rims mod added to my DJ. It's a SXT, so rims are 17", with 225/65 R 17 tires.
I'll be careful about bumps. Never drove offroad, anyway.

Last service on my '09 DJ (oil and filters change) has been a little surprise. I was told that front left wheel bearing had to be replaced, and another bearing, this time the one at the right transmission axle was damaged too.
Car is FWD and almost 85.000 kms (less than 55.000 miles), anyone has suffered same problem?
In addition, bearings (both) are totally rusted, is that normal?
I want to keep my DJ 5 years more (at least), and I'm going to spend more than 500 in this repairing. I hope it's worth.

Dodge Journey is sold in Europe as Fiat Freemont since late 2011. Dodge had Volkswagen diesel engine with 140 hp and 310 Nm, but Fiat offers two engines (designed by themselves), same 140 hp, and another engine with 170 hp and 350 Nm, which is powerful enough, at least, that's what it's said by everybody who has tested it.

    Hi from Spain Psyke17.
    A couple of questions:
¿Have you got your DRL's enabled? In those pictures, it seems you have, and it's nice, but a very kind member of this forum checked my VIN, and it wasn´t posible to do it for me. There's another post, written by an italian owner of a Fiat Freemont, with a not expensive and easy to install additional hardware so that DRL's work using high beams, ¿are you using it?
You mentioned you have GPS, ¿could you ever have an update on it? My maps are getting really old, and I find no way to upgrade them.
Thank you in advance, and have nice driving.
