Windancer reacted to B4ZINGA in FWD vs AWD in snow
Exactly. Drive like a jerk, and even a Jeep won't save you. Drive cautiously and you'll be fine with 4x4, AWD, SH-AWD, FWD, RWD, 1WD, 0WD... sorry, carried away.

Drove 25 miles this am in 4 inches
of fresh nor easter snow with fwd
and Michelin Defenders no problem.
I have always that the driver is the
key to winter driving.

Windancer got a reaction from 2late4u in Fuel Economy
I have a 2010 Dodge Journey R/T AWD and the EVIC is always out, since day 1 I have always religiously kept track on my fuelly on both my vehicles. The results can be seen below.

Trying being an engineer in the US. Living in the US day-to-day I have to use the imperial system. When I step into work, I have to switch to metric. Being bi-lingual isn't fun, especially when a non-engineer friend or family member asks about those details and they get glossy-eyed. Part dimensions are in mm. Test chamber temperatures are in C. Only once did I get to stick to one system, the one day I had to travel to WAP (Windsor Assembly Plant) for work.
I have faith that those silly Canuckistanians will learn the error of their ways and come back into the fold!
(I kid, I prefer metric to imperial) It seems like the biggest hurdle to the US making the switch is getting all of the mathematically-challenged citizens (98% of the population) to accept it. As it is, bolt sizes on cars and many structures are metric. I've only ever used imperial-sized sockets on corroded or worn bolt heads to get that fraction of a millimeter difference for better fitment.

As with anything of that magnitude the switchover was not instantaneous for everyone. But our government changed over immediately, Even back in 1977 we had to accept the change.
In 1977, I was taking Architecture in post secondary school in Calgary, Alberta, so the change over from feet and inches to meters and millimeters was especially painful. I will admit many measurements today I still use the imperial system, I still refer my weight in pounds, my height in feet and inches yet temperature and distance to name a few are degrees centigrade and kilometers. Rightly or wrongly Canada's biggest trading partner is the US so a lot of our exports are just "soft" converted as opposed to "hard" converted. I am definately not so arrogant to say the metric system is better, but IMO a system based on 10's is much easier to work with.
As an example our gas mileage is based on consumption, liters/100 kms not a hypothetical number, like mpg When we talk about a car’s fuel economy, what we want to know is how much fuel does it use, not how far does it go. mpg answers the latter question, while l/100km is what gives us the answer we want. - see http://www.skepticblog.org/2012/05/24/mpg-vs-l100km/. You also actually also use US gallons as opposed to Imperial gallons.
I certainly mean no disrespect to the to the American system, the metric system does offer some advantages.

We just returned from a trip to Memphis and Nashville and very happy with the mileage. Round trip was 2345 kilometres and used 210 liters for an average of 8.99 L/100km (26.16 MPG)

They are all made in Mexico.
He was talking about sales market destination as in TJ.
Where is that??

Windancer reacted to Journey_SeXT in 2010 Journey SXT engine stall during operation
The OP has already taken it to the dealer so not much more DodgeCares can do until the dealer gives a diagnosis and see if they can fix it.

I see nothing wrong with it. Sometimes all you can do is say "I feel your pain".

Not nearly as useless as this post., C'mon Fred where is your sensibility, as Journey_SeXT posted until a dealer gives her a reason there is nothing that Dodge Cares can do. Let's be fair. Unless I am missing something I think Dodge Cares probably hit "Send" too quickly something we all do

In Canada, IMO this is one case where vanity is trumped by safety........Just my own personal thoughts. B) It is so much easier to see an oncoming car on a single lane highway with the DRL's on.

Toyo Proxes 4, IMO are a very good tire I put them on my convertible PT Cruiser, not that it was anywhere closer to being an asphalt agitator, but they had a great ride, looked great, handled well and had a very good wear guarantee.
I may put them on my Saturn Sky once the Good Years are done.

Folks keep mentioning night-time. Remember, DRLs are for daylight; not night when your headlights will already be on. I find DRLs most beneficial and visible during sunny days when attempting to identify whether there is an oncoming vehicle when thinking about a pass on a two lane road. That said, I use them when traveling on long stretches of road and not when in town. When traveling its one less thing I need to think about and when I'm home I simply turn them off. Love the touch screen functionality.
Not sure why this situation of no dealership activation for DRLs has arisen, but I think those who want to have them enabled should be able to. There may be a software or hardware reason. I'd like to see Dodge just make them standard. Just my opinion.
Peace.

We are all entitled to your own opinions but I truly think DRL's are beneficial to daytime driving, IMO there is nothing wrong with being seen by others during the day.
Minnesota is just below us so I am sure they have long cold dark winter nights also.
In my case safety over rules vanity which is why I personally happy with my DRL's and be seen safely during the day.

I couldn't agree more, fortunately I have had a very solid relationship with my dealer, a small town dealer, 45 miles east of where I live. He has treated me very well for over 20 years, I was a very strong GM person until then and to date, I have had 6 vehicles from him since.

Looks great, unfortunately that combo probably wouldn't work here, we tend to need a little more sidewall on our tires, especially during winter. ;-)

Ha! Yeah... Two inches is just a hassle... Means that I have to go shovel off the pond before we can play hockey on it! What a nuisance.

Windancer reacted to RedLineDodge in Bloody nice aren't they
Very odd, clearly a 2009/10 interior but the steering wheel is slightly different than any journey Ive ever seen. The center of the wheel (horn/airbag cover is rounded when it should be squared)

Interesting that they list this photo as a 2011, when it looks like my 2010 dash.

Door sticker trumps tire rating. Unless you have aftermarket wheels, then all bets are off.
