  1. I read a lot of transmission problem here on the forum. Mine went in this morning as well. Shifting back from 2 to 1 is sometimes giving a big "clunk". Like being hit from the back. Shop told me that they are looking into the issue, and that shifting is not normal (although They could not reproduce the problem). I am not sure what the problem will be, but I am sure that the shop will do its best to keep me satisfied. Sofar they have been good to the Journey and the Avenger, and I have been good for them since they serviced these cars for the last couple of years. Had some exhaust valves and cylinderhead replaced as well about 10.000 miles ago, and this is holding up very well.
  2. Buck, did you get a letter from Chrysler with a recall for your brakes? you will get free brakes if they worn out withing 12 months 24 months. max 24.000 miles: 50$ deductable 36 months. max 36.000 miles: 100$ deductible please see you dealer.
  3. That is correct, I got the letter in today. 12-24 months / 24.000 miles : $50 deductible 24-36 months / 36.000 miles : $100 deductible
  4. There is a recall for this. You should receive a letter from Chrysler that you will be reimbursed.
  5. To have the tails from the 2011 you most probably also require a ballast for the flash lights.
  6. The Ebay lip splitter you can buy at the home depot as well. This is in the weather strip section. This 05178283AA might only be available for outside the US and can not be ordered through mopar.com.
  7. Did you consider the 2011 grill? Bumper looks the same............
  8. Just checked the Owners Manual and this is described on P450.
  9. I would consider snow tires.
  10. Rear lights might fit but also consider that these are LED's. The work on a different "power" so you might need at resistor in the lines as well. This is a common problem on today's cars.
  11. My no. 4 cylinder has low compression. Engine light went on, first updated with a TSB for cold start. Light was off for two days. Back on again. Measured low compression. Carbon built up is expected. They will remove the cylinder head, replace the required parts and ready to go.
  12. Have you seen the new 2011 Journey; I would wait for that model and pay the additional funds.
  13. I think the sound of LEDS made him decide to do the change.
  14. "Sill drain holes blocked" This is very common, the Avenger has similar problems. Also the Seat Leon.
  15. My 3.5 also uses a lot of gas: I get only between 13 and 18 MPG.
  16. Very common to do on the many Dodge models.
  17. Below are the item no.s used in the Journey: 7 SPEAKER, 6"X9" 05081669AA 2 B, D, E 49 [RC9], Front Door 05091019AB 2 B, D, E 49 [RCG], Front Door 8 SPEAKER, 6"X9" 05081669AA 2 B, D, E 49 [RC9], Rear Door 05091019AB 2 B, D, E 49 [RCG], Rear Door 9 SPEAKER, 3.5" 05059062AA 2 B, D, E 49 [RCG], Instrument Panel 05064120AB 2 B, D, E 49 [RC9], Instrument Panel 2 05064302AC 1 B, D, E 49 AMPLIFIER, [RD6] 3 05064298AC 1 B, D, E 49 SPEAKER, Sub Woofer RC9 = premium speakers.
  18. Cleaning the filter is impossible, you need to replace it. It is behind your glove box. - Open the glove box completely. - On each side you need to pull a stopper to the innner side. - Open the glove box further, release the "wire" on the right center side Now you will see the A/C vent unit, with on top the filter holder. Remove this, replace the filter and install backwards. Very simple, 2 minutes work (first time maybe 10 minutes). You can also check your owners manual : Page 416. I do not think that the filter is the issue....................................
  19. Not just CDJ but all brands are behaving like this which is correct. You have your rights, but also oblogations and why should they thrust you on your word? If you buy your car and you need to make monthly payments for it, you better make sure you get the right service, specially on the parts which are under warranty. What do you save on an oil change? $15.00, but I get a carwash for free at the dealer, and they always check some more, and warn you for upcoming costs. You need more than oil to run the engine properly, and that is what they are checking.
  20. Try this one: https://www.dodge.com/crossbrand/warranty/?brand= or fill in your VIN to check what you have: http://www.dodge.com/en/service_contracts/ Try to buy the switch from the dealer, if it does not work, just bring it back and get your money returned. With your VIN you will get the correct item no. Good luck, keep us posted.
  21. I would replace the whole switch in the drivers door. It has the electronics built in. I do not believe that it is a mass problem since windows do go down. I thought the Journey has a 36.000 miles bumper to bumper warranty.............as well you can buy additional warranty throught Dodge website.
  22. The 3" already fills up the gaps in the bumper, and 4" might not fit due to vibration depending on road condition and transfer to much heat and the bumper could melt. So you have to go from 3 to 3 1/2" and the length is the next issue, the muffler is directly behind the bumper. 6" is max. Many of them are welded pcs and 10-12" long which do not fit. I did not visit Pepboys, just looked on the web, measured some things, and drove to the deler. If you find something at pepboys just post it, for sure they will beat the price of the dealer. Thank again.
  23. Yes, there you have a good point. Did you consider the "diffusor" also. I think this is only possible for the diesel and 4 cyl gasoline cars (only 1 exhaust). I like it a lot. I have just mailed to them to see if they give some discount. We will see how they reply.
  24. The web is a great tool, you just need to know how to find and play with the websites, and I am not a specialist................
