I got a quote from a local detailing shop -$800 for prep and treatment. Done in my driveway. Is this reasonable?
  2. I got some scratches on my front bumper cover - no dent. Reputable body shop charged me over $500. Bracket costs less than $10. Based on this, I'd say $800 to take out dent and repaint is resonable.
  3. Hey! If you replace the speakers with 2 Ohm speakers, like the Infinity ones, you'll get more power out of your car stereo amps. You can check them out here http://www.crutchfield.com/S-vJSwuLvWgvb/shopsearch/infinity_car_speakers.html?awcp=1t2&awcr=40403339963&awdv=c&awkw=infinity%20car%20speakers&awmt=e&awnw=g#?nvpair=FFCategory%7C%5Brank399%5DCar%20Speakers&avf=N , or just go to Crutchfield.com. Infinity speakers are very high fidelity, having a crossover and separate speakers for high and low.
  4. Hey, folks! Thanks for the replies to my question. This is really my first automatic tranny, so I miss the stick. I have been using it to downshift, rather than hit the brakes, and on the highway when I need a little more acceleration. It is true that I rev the engine higher when I'm shifting manually. I guess I can have faith in the auto tranny and try to let it do the work. Thanks again for your help. Rob
  5. Hey, Folks, I have a 2014 R/T. I've been shifting manually, but I'm starting to wonder if this can cause trouble with the transmission. Any thoughts/experience with this? Thanks, Rob
  6. Washington, DC - I'm not in any state, LOL!!!
  7. Mine is 2 coat redline. Always looks shiny - even when it's filthy!
  8. Hey! I'd be interested in having a Journey Meet. I live in Washington, DC and would go as far as Chicago. Thanks, Rob Ace of Baseness
  9. Hey! I just put one on yesterday. Installation was a little confusing, as the instructions showed that a screwdriver will remove them. I just used a set of plyers - they came right out - no damage to rivets!
  10. I put mine on today. Instructions could have been a little clearer, especially about those 4 push pins; took me a while to figure out they didn't mean screws (I use plyers for pins, and screwdrivers for screws). Heated up the adhesive with a heat gun before appllication, and blew some heat over the edges before final seating. Maybe that'll cause the car to explode, but the bumper will look nice, LOL!!! 11. Can you tell me how you got the silver colored bezel off the radio and A/C? Do you have to take the whole cover off first? Thanks
  12. I have a few mini USB power cords that plug into the 12v power source. They will work with my Garmin, but don't seem to supply enough voltage; the unit comes on, but it's dim, sometimes hums, and the audo out may not work. For $10 or so, you can puchase a spare power cord for use in other vehicles.
  13. Hey, Pioneer! Those bars look great! Been thinking about getting a set of stainless bars from JC Whitney http://www.jcwhitney.com/3-custom-fit-side-bars/p2010534.jcwx?filterid=d18617y2010j2 Do they really help avoid parking lot dents (good way to justify the cost to the missus, LOL!!!)? I already had some twit get me in the left rear wheel well (can you say $618 US ??) 2 days after I got my baby! Rock on Acebass
  14. My new 2wd SXT's performance up my driveway in light snow was pretty pathetic. I've been thinking of installing a winch. Anyone have any thoughts on doing this? Thanks, AB
  15. I have a 2010 SXT. The diagnostic port's at the bottom of all the plastic covers, right by the steering column. It's pointing down, so you either have to connect up a reader by sense of touch, or crouch upside down.
