is it bad to run 85 octaine in these engines?  im on my 2nd tank of gas.  the day i bought the car the sales guy put in 85.  i put 85 in the second tank as well.

i ask because is it REALLY a bad thing to run 85?  i mean is running 87 a scare tactic?

No.  It just pulls straight out with a trim removal tool, or small screwdriver.  I replaced mine with a red one.  After all, I am driving a Crossroad SRT Hellcat!

WOW i just started a thread about this yesterday.

can you direct me to what trim removal tool you used?  im totally going to do this!!!

also which red button you used?  this is the mopar part # i found.... 6GE11XR4AB

  3. so i took my wife's grand caravan to the dealership today for an oil change & brake job, and while waiting i was sitting in a hellcat.  waaaaay to far outta my price range (especially with 4 kids still in the house)

but i was thinking this car has a sweet RED push button start.  I WANT A RED BUTTON TOO!!

    started searching..............found this

i was wondering in the description it says up to 2014, but is there ANY real difference in the push button?  has anyone else attempted this?  it seems like a cool little mod that would really change the look of the dash area.

  4. this happened to me once only on my car door. my daughter used her finger to close the latch when the door was wide open.  i had to use a screwdriver to slide into the clamp that was closed to simulate the door being in it.  then somehow fiddeling with handles and stuff i got it opened.

u just gotta get something in there to release the closed clamp

Sure Ill post a picture later today and TOP plenum is where the throttle body is mounted on the journey is made of some sort of plastic composite on other vehicles plenums are made of aluminum or steel just various.

ill keep an eye out for your pic.  maybe point out which piece you had to take off.  itll help an amateur like me out.  did the instructions state having to remove it as well?

  6. so in my area our sprinkler water is city water which is VERY hard/non-potable water.  the whole passenger side of my new car is covered in white hard water spots.  washing it does no good.  i have spent the last 20 mins scrubbing with Windex the crap out of the windows and  have made a 60% difference.  but i cant Windex the paint.

any ideas from anyone how to get hard water spots off??

There are intakes that will delete both restrictive resonators on the Journey. RPM-Motorsports in Arizona provides them. I purchased one in my opinion it wasn't worth the price I bought it for 200 dollars I did notice the throttle response was on point other than that more noise and mpg was the same. If they were to change its price to 80-100 dollars then I would think it's worth it. Installation wasn't bad but top plenum must be removed for RPM motorsports resonator intake delete to be installed properly.

thanks for that info.  do you happen to have a pic of it installed?

    also whats the "top plenum"?

There are none. The vehicle is already equipped with a cold air intake. An aftermarket intake will be a ram air type that sucks hot air from the engine compartment. They are a waste of money and only good for looks and sound.

good to know.  what about just the filter replacement?  worth it or not?
