A boat is a hole in the water that you throw money into.

I have 2009 3.5L. Bought it one year ago. I noticed same thing on my oil dipstick on periodic  checks. It eats some oil and I have no leaks either.  I thought the same thing with the coolant.  There is no change in the color of coolant at the  overflow reservoir.

I am satisfied with the Performance of my 2.4l. Before going wild with mods make sure your sparkplug and filters are fresh, injectors are clean, brakes are not dragging and the tires are pumped up. You might be surprised how well it can run stock.

I was thinking of running these with snow tires. I tried one on the front of my 2013 it fits on the hub but binds on the brake caliper. The only way it would work is with a spacer.

I just replaced the battery in my 2013, no longer will accept or hold a charge. Put in a Motomaster Eliminator with a 10 year warranty and 4 year free replacement. Let see how long it actually lasts.

If they were 17's and they were rubbing on the caliper, I believe the person you bought it from may have been mistaken... If they were from a Dodge Journey, there would be no rubbing. Even with 16" Rims there isn't any rubbing with OEM Dodge Journey Rims.
Glad to hear you got it resolved.

Hankster got a reaction from dhh3 in Transmission Clunking Noise after Drive Train work
The axle probably needs to have the proper torque applied. In the past with some of the Caravans I have owned I have had to actually over torque the axle nuts to prevent the clunking.

My 2013 still has the original factory battery. I pulled it out cleaned the salt and sand from the Tray, Cleaned and Lubed the Battery Terminals. Lubed the mounting hardware. In my Owners manual on the maintenance schedule a battery terminal cleaning and service is called for at every oil change. I wonder if this is actually being done as stated on the schedule?

Just reuse your original springs to keep the original ride.

The will probably fit just will have springs with the wrong spring rate. They may sit to high with the lighter 2.4

Hankster got a reaction from dhh3 in Can I use old snap rings ?
Depends on the condition of the rings, are they deformed or rusted? If they are in good condition I would have no problem reusing them. It is the press fit that retains them the snap ring is a backup to insure they stay where they are supposed to.

I know this is a old post but maybe some of you are still having this problem like I did. I cleaned all the sill and door holes holes on the cowling and even ran a air nozzle up the ac drain in hopes it was that . same problem this morning over night rain and drivers floor had water in it ..
I noticed while removing the carpet that the previous owner had done the same .
what I found surprised me . to the left of the brake pedal there are two lines cominging through the fire wall. the rear windshield washer hose and a main power cable. the leak was where the main power cable came through the firewall .mnot a very good bushing and had a foam square behind it I guess to help seal...
when I ran a water hose over the windshield a lot of water came from the cowling and ran down the power cable and through the bushing and on to the floor of the car. the cowling really does not keep water out of the engine compartment at all .
I was surprise there was not a drip loop or something to keep the water away ...
poor design for sure . a bit of tuff stuff spray foam in the hole and filled up the foam cover stopped the leak...
ran the water hose over the same spot in the windshield and all seems good to go.

Thanks for the heads up on the cable grommet in the cowl.I noticed in the rear when I removed the molded cargo floor to hook up my trailer light harness. The bolt holes for the third row seats and seat belts that I don't have in mine. Are just covered with clear tape. On my Journey everything is nice and dry. A few of the Journeys we looked at before buying this one had rust and evidence of water in the jack compartment. When checking mine the spare tire winch has a poor fitting grommet. The spare tire was filled up to the top with gravel and salty road debris that I cleaned out and drilled a couple of drain holes into.

P225/65R17 on 17x6.5" rims - That is the stock 17" size available from dodge on the SE model. Should fit any Journey though. I have heard that 16's are pushing it for clearance between the calipers and rims.
