I found out the hard way that the 2.4l is very fussy on spark plugs. Put in the factory recommended plugs, check the bottom of the coils for carbon tracking in the rubber boots.

My 2013 used to do that and also when doing a quick stop and go at stop signs. It went away when I put the new factory old school copper core spark plugs in.

Have your own mechanic trouble shoot and pinpoint the cause. Then go back to  the seller and either have them fix or pay.  The Journey is known to have some suspension noises.

I can easily change the oil and filter without lifting. I just put a piece of cardboard down to slide on and can reach without any problems. Why make it more complicated than that?

Nope no window problems

I had a problem with a 2.2l in my old Dodge shadow it would break the starter drive  occasionally.  It drove me crazy trying to figure out why.  My answer came when the flex plate finally broke. Do you have any noises or other symptoms?  maybe debris in the ring gear teeth?

I found  that the signal is blocked  if my phone is next to my fob in my pocket. As soon as I take the fob from my pocket everything works ok.

I tried upgrading to iridium in my 2.4l.  It caused a hesetation and stumble problem when doing quick stop and go's  . The engine runs best with the stock plugs.

There is no bracket the plate is screwed directly to the front bumper cover.

My 2013 had a rattle that was difficult to pinpoint. My wife noticed it was loudest when she put her ear on the arm rest and listened in the Storage bin. It turned out to be the heat shield under the center of the floor. I put fender washers under the retainer nuts and the problem is gone.

Update, the stumble and hesitation has been gone for over a year now, but has again started to do it. I found a couple of reasons first aluminum grit in the throttle body that seemed to be interfering with the throttle plate. The grit was from corrosion between the housing and the rubber air pipe. It was an easy job to pull out and clean.Second I also pulled the year old iridium spark plugs and put the specified nickel plugs obtained from my dealer. The driveability  has improved and this car now runs smoother that I thought possible.If you are having hesitation, stumbles, bad shifting this definitely  is worth a look. I had to go to the dealer for the proper spark plugs all the part stores in my area all recommended Iridium or platinum spark plugs for this engine even though they are not apparently compatible and only lasted 20,000kms.

The intake manifold doesn't have any coolant running through it. Pick up a test kit to check for exhaust gas in the coolant, and a compression test.

Is the gap on the plugs correct? Are they the correct plugs listed for your engine and year?

Is moisture getting into the spark plug tubes? Is the beauty cover in place? Power washing the engine? Haven't heard about this as a problem. I have iridium ngk plugs and haven't had any problems . My 2.4 runs fantastic.

Any check engine light? Codes? Throttle light?

I test my caravan and journey with mine without issue. All it does is drop the voltage by creating a load. The starter motor would do the same damage if it was a problem.
