2011 Journey: Grinding or Rubbing Sound when I Accelerate

2011 Journey Mainstreet, 3.6 Pentastar w/6 -speed transmission.

When I press the accelerator even a modest amount (moving or from standing still, it doesn't matter), I hear a grinding or rubbing sound. Not sure what it could be, and it's hard for me to tell where it's coming from. Also have notices a marked reduction in gas mileage. Otherwise no complaints for this car.

check your front wheel bearings, my daughters caravan started making noises something like that. jack up one side at a time grab the wheel and see how it spins and try to move it side to side in all directions shouldn't have no movement except turning the wheel. they are easy to change out.good luck how many miles on the journey?
