2.4 engine and 4 speed Trans Mounts

Has anyone replaced there transmission or engine mount on there journey. I truly believe the harsh shifting issue I'm feeling between 1st and 2nd gear is due to a bad Torque Sturt mount. Earlier this year I had my journey look at under warranty for harsh shifting after finishing a 20+ hour road trip. The dealership said they couldn't find anything wrong and that these transmissions are normally harsh when shifting up and down. Does anyone experience the same problems ?

I can't speak of the newer models like YOURS, but under what driving driving conditions and are you manually shifting the gears?

YES all will feel some strong "tug" as they normally go into the lowest gear, these are not totally smooth like a CCV trans of some other make vehicles. And hard accelerating will also have noticeable shift feel.

TOO LATE TO HAVE DONE AN EDIT

I meant not smooth like a CVT transmission.

So I've done both manually shift and auto to see if my hard acceleration is probably the cause of the issue. On my road trip I literally felt the engine on the highway go up when accelerating and drops down when deceleration. As if a mount has lost its strength and gave out. The car will even jerk upon start between fueling and rest stops. Also when cruise control is turned off on the highway.... I believe the engine thinks it's down shifting and will clunk as well... also in heavy stop and go traffic you can really feel the engine go up and drop down to the point I have to manually select 1 or 2 gear until open road.

i have the 6 sp in my journeys BUT have had many 4 spd autos in my caravans with the 3.3 eng over the yrs,,that said the 4spds under normal driving speeds should shift smooth and easy with no jerks or hesitations now if you are going up a steep grade and you hit the gas and it downshifts yes there will be a harsh jerk or revs in eng speed same with just hitting the gas real hard to pass it will downshift with revs and hard jerks...hope you find out if you have a problem...and welcome to the group
