dhh3 reacted to probak118 in Will they fit?
Thread is 5 months old I know but tried to also go up one size on my 2012 SXT today. Kal Tire ordered Michelin Defender LTX 235/65/R17 104T to replace the Kumo 225/65/R17 factory. I guess, the 65s are just a little too wide ? Salesmen thought going up one size was ok, but installer called us in and showed tires would rub. I just figured they would have had experience and know immediately. Settled on Mich Def 225s.

you only have one part per side, i am thinking of adding a drop of silicone to help anchor it on where it doesn't touch any grease.

Do you have Navigation?? if yes then get it LOL
Plus I assume you have AWD so that would be piece of mind owning to me

First of all, welcome to the forum. I have to agree that the extended warranty is a good idea. As far as the $1985.00 for the cost, the cost of some of the potential repairs
you could be faced with will make this a bargain.

With respect, that last statement requires qualification . . . .
First of all, take no warranty unless it is provided by the manufacturer.
Secondly, you want a full bumper-to-bumper warranty.
Third, decide whether you want a deductible per claim or not.
Fourth, decide how long that warranty should be keeping in mind that a 5 year warranty actually provides 2 extended years on everything that isn't the power train for vehicles sold pre 2016 because before 2016 you had 3/36 5/60 coverage.
If you are in the US buy it from one of the online dealers - solicit a quote and DO NOT buy it right away - they tend to come back and offer a discount of about a hundred dollars after a few weeks . . . . . . if you buy in state you will be paying sales tax, something else to consider.

Check to see if the recall for the Power Steering hose applies to your vehicle. Here's the link http://www.dodge.com/webselfservice/dodge/Recall.html
You can also contact FCA canada Customer Care centre 1-800-465-2001 or www.fcacanada.ca/en/contact_us.php
You'll need your VIN number.

doesn't hurt to add some power steering fluid as they come with the minimum from the factory also checking into the forum on power steering whine and hose problems i heard their is a service bulliten or recall on this for Canada folks good luck.

dhh3 reacted to lemdog in power steering whine? (left turns only)
hello all,
for a little while now, I get an odd noise when making left turns at low speeds such as through a subdivision/parking lot.
it almost sounds like a power steering whine as if when making the left turn the fluid sloshes over and is low enough to make the whine. (make any sense?)
I do know what a power steering unit sounds like when its low or out of fluid from past experiences on other cars.
its just briefly until the turn is over and I am in a straight line again. not SUPER loud or anything but just enough to either indicate what seems to be low-ish fluid or like the engine shifting and pully's out of alignment.(??)
I checked the fluid level but the reservoir has some in it but not sure if it requires more up to the 'fill line'? hard to determine the fill line.
also would like to mention that during the winter in extreme cold mornings, during startup, there is a TREMENDOUS whine which also makes me think of alternator and/or power steering pump super cold and not pumped through the system yet.
the sound is SO loud until about 30sec into warm up. I've never heard or have had a car make that loud of noise on super cold mornings during initial startup.
just wondering to myself if they are related.
any thoughts or comments are welcome.
thanks!

depends on how many pumps the supplier has to produce I would think
Also would probably require partial disassembly as it is a pump

As the recall states: "could cause a crash without warning". Sounds pretty dangerous to me.

Hi,
I just received by the mail a recall for my Dodge journey RT 2016 about a defective transaxle oil pump. How dangerous is that? Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback. I found some Michelin X ice Winter tires on steel rims and next summer will replace the Kumhos with new summer tires.

As an alternative to getting winter tires has any one tried all weather tires? Any recommendations as to brand? I don't want to give up my smooth quiet ride.
