  1. It sounds like you are spending way more money than you will ever save trying to squeeze a couple more mpg's (or however you calculate it north of the border). To offset the cost of a set of new tires you would have to have quite a gain in mileage...
  2. My last vehicle (2012 Avenger) was the same... After my first oil change at ~8,000 miles, my mileage jumped significantly. Right now I have less than 1,000 miles on my DJ and I am getting right around 20 mpg mixed driving. Considering the winter gas, time spent idling in traffic due to snow covered rush hour roads and so on... I anticipate being much closer to 25 mpg this summer...
  3. So it just clips over the existing mirror? Hmmm... it wouldn't even matter if you had Uconnect or not at that point... Post pics and a review for us when you get it installed... Very curious.
  4. The straight on pics are at a little different angle, but they look pretty similar in overall shape... I just don't want to drop $100+ on a part I can't use and that will be tough to get my money back on if I couldn't use it...
  5. Perhaps I should have been more clear. I understand that they look different, but my question pertains more to shape... Could I take an aftermarket grille for a 2009-2010 and install it on my 2014?
  6. If you can move the hooks easily it may not be an issue... I was more concerned with having 2 hooks, but only one detent for them to rest in...
  7. The premium system in most OEM applications is a mild improvement at best... You're still getting paper speakers and an 8" paper sub isn't going to do much. You also only get a mild bump in wattage. If they advertise a 500w stereo you have to split that wattage up amongst all of the speakers...in reality its a bump from 8 watts a speaker to 38...not much of an upgrade. That being said, most OEM stereos can be upgraded to sound significantly better (to the non-audiophile) for a very reasonable price via the aftermarket. This is something I do in EVERY vehicle I own.
  8. Or you could just buy the Katzkin kit for your DJ and have leather in any trim you want... It really isn't that expensive and is a simple install.
  9. Is there any difference between grilles on the 2009-2010 and the 2011-current DJ? Looking for something a little different, but the grilles I've been able to find seem to be broken up by years. Anyone know this answer for sure?
  10. NW Suburbs of Minneapolis, MN
  11. When I click on the picture to see a bigger image it says, "You Do Not Have Permission to View this Image".... WTH?! Looks good in the thumbnail I guess... Ha!
  12. Didn't notice he had the CVP... That doesn't have the Uconnect mirror I assume?
  13. I guess we come from two different mindsets. Though it is fair to mention that winters in NH don't hold a stick to those in MN... My last car was FWD, and it was sufficient, but for the amount of time I have to spend driving in snow storms, it is worth it to me. We are a hockey family and are constantly traveling in the worst weather MN can throw at us. The extra piece of mind it provides me knowing that I have a better chance of safely making it to my destination with my family in the car is easily enough to justify the extra cost (though what I paid for this thing brand new wasn't any different than the cost of a FWD DJ). Also, if you read my post it actually says quite explicitly that it is not a necessity, but nice to have so I'm not sure what we're arguing about... I do know that when I drove to work this morning and the plows scraped all of the snow off the road, but left tons of ice on it, that I was sure glad I had the AWD.
  14. I haven't actually checked to see whats available since my DJ is brand new yet, but I usually switch to EBC rotors and pads when the time comes on my vehicles. Great performance and affordable.
  15. Hmmm... No one wants to share any pics? Weak... Far as I can tell, the Husky mats and Aries mats only have one hook detent... Does that mean that I'm stuck with the expensive (albeit very nice) Weathertechs with a 2014 DJ?
  16. Where are you installing the monitor?
  17. I could deal with 35%... In the great white north (Minnesota) the law is 50%... Obviously that is a waste of money so everyone has illegal tint. It's stupid if you ask me. Actually, it's even stupid if you don't ask me...
  18. Yup. There are 2 - 3.5" speakers in the dash, 2 - 6"x9" in the front doors and 2 -6"x9" in the rear doors... Unless you have the premium system.
  19. Kind of dumb... Kind of like having the tow package, but not getting a receiver on the back... WTF?
  20. Just like the title says... I'm going to be purchasing some custom fit floor liners for the DJ and am looking for actual installed product pics for Husky, Weathertech and Aries? Show 'em if you got 'em!! Thanks
  21. You have a link or something? Can't seem to find them online...
  22. Ha! In Winnipeg you will definitely use the AWD more than ".01%" of the time... We have a VERY similar climate in MN and AWD, while not a necessity, is certainly nice to have when you need to get out before the snow is all cleared up...
