  1. Was able to see the pics in the gallery (not sure why I can see them there and not in the post)... Looks good. My only concern would be that it would block my uconnect microphones. Does it automatically dim?
  2. I guess it depends what you consider cool... I use my bluetooth to make/receive calls, listen to Pandora/other music, etc... Don't know how cool any of that is, but it sure is useful and keeps me from taking my hand(s) of the wheel. With the 8.4 with Nav you can send text via voice commands too...
  3. These are normally what I buy... It's really pretty cheap if you think about it. You are at about $180 per wheel. Not bad for a nice brake setup like that... The labor is going to hurt though. Brake jobs are pretty routine, I try and do them myself if I have time. The markup for labor is INSANE!
  4. jkeaton is correct. If you had the upgraded stereo (Alpine?) there would be a paper sub on one side, but no speaker feeds. You would have to tap the wires behind the dash or at one of the door speaker locations using an LOC. The one I typically get is able to be turned on without running a remote wire all the way to the battery with a switch, making it much easier...
  5. You are correct in your assumptions, but the eco tires are not the same makeup. The different composition of the rubber is what provides the increase in mileage... That being said, I wouldn't personally make the upgrade as the ride will suffer and the increase will be minimal. If I lived in a winter free climate I may give them a try, but not in the great white north...
  6. They do make a full synthetic ATF+4, but it would not be the MOPAR brand (I'm pretty sure Valvoline makes the MOPAR stuff anyway).
  7. Yeah, the reviews on that first generation Journey are mixed, but most are bad... Also, AWD does require you to rotate tires religiously and replace all 4 when the time comes, but that goes for all manufacturers. Though you should get a light and the AWD should disengage if they are mismatched...
  8. Ha! We've all been there! Great visual...
  9. It's too much work to make a profit unless you charge what the pros are charging. At that point, you may as well have someone with a good reputation do it... I have done retrofits on several different vehicles and have torn numerous sets apart for friends to paint. It really isn't that difficult at all. If you are serious about getting some I would suggest getting a nice pair of aftermarket lights (TYC is a very good brand) and doing it yourself. If you are just painting them you should be able to get in done in a weekend. I can't say for sure about the Journey's, but most newer Chrysler vehicles use and adhesive called permaseal on their lights which is a bit harder to work with, where the TYC's use a much easier to work with adhesive. Buying another set also allows you to take your time with the mod (always provides a better finished product) and gives you a back up pair in case you don't get them sealed up right the first time and need to redo the seal. This really is a very easy mod if you take your time and do your research... DO IT!
  10. I can certainly help you here (I install subs in all of my cars with the factory stereo), but I need to know which stereo you have.
  11. I've never had a problem with any of my android phones doing anything... My wife's iPhone on the other hand is a constant battle. I got it for her because they are easier to use than a nice andriod phone (mostly because of all of the limitations), but I am constantly dealing with all of its issues. Go figure... Did you create this post with your iPhone? Reason I ask is because you created two identical ones and one had to be locked... Haha! Please say yes. Okay, I'm done giving you a hard time now... (all in good fun)
  12. Which stereo do you have? The 8.4 with Nav is more capable than the regular 8.4...
  13. Ha! Do you cover your plates when you drive around town too? Not trying to be a smart ass (okay, yes I am), but your license isn't exactly a private number.... Just saying. However, it is certainly your choice not to show the pic (though I'd like to see it too).
  14. Dang... Can't see the pics from work (must be on a photo hosting website?).... Really interested in how it all turned out.
  15. Ha! I know this isn't funny, but I couldn't help laughing when I read those quotes... Ridiculous...
  16. My Avenger is white... It still gets crazy dirty in the winter, but it has the appearance of being clean when it actually isn't most of the time, so...
  17. Technically it is a semi-synthetic... I too am curious what fluid the dealer is using. Whatever it is needs to be Chrysler approved for warranty purposes.
  18. Agreed. The fact that the hp and tq numbers are different in every 3.6L application alone means that they are tuned differently from the factory. They would need a donor vehicle to try tunes on and it would be a significant R&D expenditure. They likely have looked at the return on investment and decided it wasn't worth their time. Not a surprise considering the vehicle. The 3.6 is plenty fun just how it is (rare to be able to say that about an OEM application).
  19. Unless you have the upgraded stereo, there are no speakers or wires in the back. Speakers are located in the dash and each of the doors.
  20. If you want someone else to do the retrofit it will cost a LOT... If you are comfortable taking on the task on your own (not that difficult) you can get everything you need at TheRetrofitSource.com and do a nice job for under $700 (under $400 if you use your oem lights instead of new ones). Check out HIDPlanet.com for thorough discussion on techniques, equipment and so on. I will try and do a write up when I do mine, but that will be a couple months out (just got the vehicle 7-Mar).
  21. BTW... Have you tried playing a DVD while in park and then shifting into drive (remember this from your other thread)? My DVD continues to play on my 2014 when I do this...
  22. Sucks you ended up with the 2010... I read your other post and think you would have been much happier with the 2011+. Everything you mentioned as a problem is a strong spot on my 2014. Good luck with the fix. If you have a competent dealer it shouldn't be an issue.
  23. YellowDuck - I love mine too, and the satellite is nice, but it sounds digitzed (if that makes sense). Great driving experience for sure. jkeaton - if you think red is rough, try black... my god, I might go crazy trying to keep this thing clean! Can't wait for some warm weather so I can put a THICK coat of wax on her.
  24. Exactly what I am looking to do to mine (minus the halos)... More info on the retrofit? Is that yours?
  25. Nice ride! I'd love to hear the exhaust... Is the 2009 the 3.5L?
