  1. is that stock wheels ? they kinda look like the ones off the jeep comander or i think its the compass.
  2. i dont have any video's but i can say from experience (i have a 3.5l awd with factor 19" wheels) it handles extremely well in the snow/ice. it loves it. and if you turn off traction control you can have lots of fun drifting and doing donuts with it.
  3. could someone with a '11-'13 dj with the new style (led) tail lights take a picture of the wires and connector that connect to the tail light assembly. would love to see what it looks like. thanks. p.s im talking the main 2 not the third brake light. thanks again. also if anyone has the wiring diagram or knows where i could get my hands on it that would be great if you could direct me to it.
  4. thanks guys. no worries tho. i'm going to do a freemont conversion on it anyways so im not worried about the grill to much. i was just wondering if i could do it easily until i got my freemont grille
  5. so i have an '09 journey sxt awd and it has the fake chrome on the grill which is starting to bubble.is there a way to remove this "chrome" without ruining the plastic underneath. i want to paint it but i dont want to paint it with the bubbles. and i think if i pop the bubbles and peel them off it will leave a divot. TIA
  6. do you have a shot of the dashboard?
  7. another place to check is andysautosports.com i have seen lowering springs there for the DJ i forget how much of a drop it does but i have seen them there.
  8. Yeah i know what you mean about the roads in edmonton. i also live in edmonton and last winter i came up to a yellow light while trying to stop i started to slide threw the intersection and t-boned a car that was turning in left from the on coming traffic and wrote off both vehicles. while we were in the business on the corner (was a hottub/bathtub and plumbing supply store) they were saying they see an accident at that set of lights at least once a day. the sad part was i had just put brand new winter tires on my journey a week before the accident. sadly its now longer with us but yeah i feel for your pain. where did you end up taking your journey to?
  9. No problems. i was intrested in it as well but when i found out it was just a bolt on i was like meh i wont the drop in replacement not bolt on. thanks for posting that link the frog. its the closest to drop in iv found on ebay yet so far.
  10. its the whole assembly the shell and grill inserts. as well as this is a complete swap out grill not a bolt on style like the ebay one that frog was posting.(not trying to sound like bashing on frog)
  11. from what i can i think the one on ebay that Frogbox posted is just bolts onto the existing grill and not a direct grill replacement. i have contacted seller to see if this is a bolt on or direct replacement and will post when i have a response. Update. the ebay seller contacted me back and informed me that this grill is just a bolt on grill and not a direct replacement.
  12. you did the same thing iv been thinking with mine, looks good tho. did you use just spray paint or is that plasti dip? if its just spray did you prep it at all? like sand with fine gritt paper

looks goodl, i take it the little black backwards C they did on the doors is the something extra you had them do?
  14. just upload the pictures to a image hosting site like photobucket or imgurl and then use the embed image button(looks like a polaroid icon) and paste its link in there. i find this works the best. just remember not to post to big of pictures or else it will cause people to have to scroll sideways to see the whole picture.
  15. I must be missing something but there's no pictures on that link posted. unless its just my work connection
  16. [Tools Required] Small flat head screw driver A cloth (any will do) Step 1. take small flat head and place cloth over the tip. Step 2. place tip of screw driver just above the chrome base of the shifter knob Step 3. pry a bit gently but with a little force (not enough to break it) Step 4. the cap should pop off then all thats required is just pull the shifter knob up. Note. i read that its easier to do this with the vehicle in neutral rather then park as then the shifter is facing almost 90 degrees straight up. Hope this helps
  17. if you provide the last 8 digits of your Vin I can look up and see if you have any recalls on your vehicle for you if you like.
  18. does any one know if a 2011-13 DJ tail light assembly will fit in a 09 DJ? i know the connectors are different but im not worried about that i just dont want to spend the money to buy the assembly for it not to fit or line up. visually they look identical for size and shape but i havn't been able to measure them up to each other. thanks. if they dont this parts a long shot but does anyone know of any after market tail lights that are not OEM replacements that will fit with out having to do any body work to have them fit.
  19. yeah i just checked it at work and with work discount after taxs and everything its $366.71 CAD also for the part number my work has it as the almost exact same part number except for the last digit is a B not an A the one i was qouted on its parts number is 1TX83TZZAB. on the website its only $265 shipped.
  20. i know mine has the same squeak so i tossed it up on the lifts at work the one day and noticed that the rear tow arm' bushings were cracked and torn. a cracked or torn bushing will cause a squeak. with mine all i had to do to replicate it was to go push down on the rear bumper a few times hard to make the suspension go up and down and it would squeak. this may or may not be the same issue with yours. i only hear mine if i have the radio off tho. my vehicle 2009 DJ SXT AWD they should look like this
  21. This also answered my question i was going to ask lol. awesome write-up. I think i will be doing this upgrade in the spring.
