I did the same upgrade as you did and mine didnt last any longer than the OEM so I decided to do the Big Brake upgrade. I hope you get better results than I did. Good Luck.

This is just my Opinion so if you dont agree with me thats quite alright.
If your Journey has 17"X7" now why wouldnt you go to at least 19" (Maybe your not doing this for looks but it would look much better). You can go 9" wide and not have any issues with clearance. I put 20"X9" on mine and I dont have any issues with clearance and I dont use more gas at all either. Just a thought.

Cant we all just get along?!?!???!!.......... I have a dual exhaust Magnaflow on my 2010 SXT AWD and I notice a difference and it has good sound. Its not loud. I didnt want it loud cause I didnt want to TRY to make it sound like a V8 and not come close. Mine fit just fine with my hitch.
However I still dont like the power output of my 3.5....... it sucks. I know that the 3.6 in the 2013 and up are much better.......I drove one. But Im not gonna trade mine or sell mine yet. Im waiting for the new SRT Journeys coming in 2016 or 2017. I bought mine used in 2013 and at that time I didnt know that the 2013 had a much better motor but thats my fault for not doing more research. Live and learn.

Your BTJ looks great. I know what you mean about leaving well enough alone. I cant do it either. Click on the link bellow to see what Ive done to mine.

Then he might have sold them already or he just hasn't re listed them.

9 inch wide rim is about all you can do any more and you will have rubbing . bolt pattern is 5 x 5 standard or 5 x 127 metric . A 245 / 45 tire on a 20 inch rim works . I think the offset is + 43 but not to sure of that .
Mine are 20x9 with 275/40 tires and I dont have any rubbing at all, they dont stick out either.
-
You could shorten the wheel gap by putting 245/50 or 55 on em.
The jury is still out what tire size ill go with for my 20's.
These 245/45's do look a little slim.
@DTSGUY, you have 275/40's without any issues right?
I might have to go 245/50... decisions, decisions.
Correct.. I have NOT had any issues with rubbing or anything. All is good with my wheels and tires. No sticking out either.

I did a small brake upgrade using good quality parts. New rotors and Wagner Ceramic Pads and I was very disappointed to find out that they still dont last as long as they should. The problem is that the Journey is too heavy for the smaller brakes. I decided to do the Big Brake conversion and wow what a difference. You may end up paying more for them upfront but in the long run you will be very pleased and they will last longer. Its all a straight bolt on conversion. There isnt anything custom needed to be done. You may find a 2013 Journey in your local junk yard.

Hi all,
I have been thinking for a while of doing something with the trim especially on the dash, gauge surrounds and shifter, but I haven't seen any kits online for making all of it a different color. Has anyone found a kit or painted their trim?
Have you ever heard of Hydro-graphics? Its a fast dipping process that can be done on most anything. There are hundreds of patterns to choose from. See the link bellow to see the process. There may be a dealer in your area that does it.

Well time for an update. Tried to see what I could do to make the 10s work in the back but there was just no way to do it and not have it rub when we have passangers in the back. We have since sold this set and ordered at 20x9 35mm for all 4 corners. We orders the same set up they are going to be gloss black SRT reps. I was really hoping to keep the 10s as it made it look like one mean journey but it was just not funtional.
20x9's look great. I just put 20x9" SRT 8 Viper Wheels on my Journey and it looks mean. No rubbing.

Here are my 20x9" Viper Wheels (Replicas). The tires are Yokohama Parada 275/40 R20. They didnt fit at first because I still had the smaller brakes and the caliper hit the center of the wheel. I changed out the brakes to the 2013 Journey brakes that I found at a junk yard with only 5,000 miles on them and the wheels went right on after that. I still have a very smooth ride. I dont feel any difference as far as smoothness but it corners like its on rails.
Sorry for the bad lighting on the pictures. Ill take another on on a good sunny day and post it.

I got an email back from the company...they sent H11s by mistake, and are sending me a pair of 9006s now. They checked their email on a Sunday night. Talk about great customer service.
Nice to work with a company that has great customer service.

My HID bulb is very different than the stock one also, and is longer. (im assuming all HID bulbs are very different than the stock ones) if it fits into the hole and locks in place when you turn it then it should work just fine.
-
Got it done. Very easy. Only took about 10 minutes.
The R/T emblem looks great and I like the red grill.
-
Many of us Journey owners have tried doing what your trying to do. If you do get a vin# from a black top edition the grill is going to be very expensive. Many of us Journey owners have just gotten ours painted for much less.

Welcome Max, im sure you will feel very accepted here in the Journey Forum. I too love to customize my Journey. We would love to see pictures of your Freemont. Here is a list of modifications that Ive done to my Journey.

After you disconnect it check to make sure the radio doesnt turn on just to be sure.
-
When you open the hood you will see a positive connection close to the fire wall on the driver side.
-
Yes you can try disconnecting the battery. The battery isn't easy to get to but there is an easy disconnect location in the engine bay.
-
Ill probably trade mine up when the 2016 or 2017 comes out. I would love to have a turbo vehicle again. I had a Turbo Volvo Wagon and I loved it.
-
Cool. Thanks. I'll get to it as soon as it arrives. It shipped today.
Peace.
Please show us a picture when its done.
-
Yes Lobitz68 is correct, I did it already and its very easy to do. It just pops out and the new one goes right in. Heres a list of other things Ive done to my Journey.

Wow, how much would it cost to ship to 44050? I just came here to post a question about putting Jeep wheels on a Journey but this is a crazy deal if shipping isn't too outrageous.
You will have to find out on your own. My zip code is 80922.

Hello everyone, Im not the owner of these wheels and I dont know the person that is selling them, however if your interested in them I would be willing to help you by picking them up and sending them to you after I receive payment for them. Please contact the seller to find out info about them. You will need to figure out shipping to your location and send me that as well along with enough money to pay for packaging. My zip code is 80922. Im not asking for any form of compensation for this, Im simply wanting to help a fellow Journey owner out.
