hockey_puck got a reaction from dhh3 in Checking Out
Congrats! Don't rush to find another job. If you don't need the extra cash, enjoy the summer and see if you have enough interests to keep you busy. I had a little part time job for a while, but gave it up cause it interfered with hockey on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and swimming on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I cut back in those activities as soon as mountain biking season starts. Sheesh, barely enough time to wash the Journey! I now consider work just another 4 letter word that ends with a K.

hockey_puck got a reaction from dhh3 in Hurry up spring!
That reminds me of a story.
Had a not too bright friend. Lived on one of the lakes in this neighbourhood. Loved the plentiful geese making their home on the lake. So he went to a farm and bought a bag of wheat to feed them. Proceeded to spread the grain around his back yard, close to the water. The yard had a considerable slope down to the water. Then Geese everywhere! Free easy food. Yes, they love wheat! His little girl was thrilled and watched them for hours. The next day early in the morning, with dew on the grass, he went out to see if there was any wheat left on the lawn. Didn't notice the mess. It was so thick and slippery he slid on his butt down the lawn and into the lake. Goose crap covered in dew is very slippery.
That was the last time he ever fed them.

Ok Mother Nature. Enough. I want, no, I need spring! I want to wash the car and have it stay clean for more than 100 yards. I want to wax it too. So hurry up! Get here. I await standing in the driveway and hearing the first flock of Canada Geese overhead. That is such a sweet sound as they announce it's spring.

hockey_puck got a reaction from dhh3 in New Journey, Not till 2018
Interesting. With sales up 10% for the calendar 2015 year and 20% in January it looks like the redesigned Journey won't appear until the 18 model now.

Leaf Blower? Not even close compared to the air this thing moves. It's got two 4 hp motors. 1st one gives a nice hard breeze out the nozzle. Kick in the 2nd motor and it's like a cat 5 hurricane. Made like a brick. Real high end stereo equipment beyond what I have is useless to me as am hearing impaired. Bloody old age.

Some people buy new headlights. Or subwoofers. Or whatever. I bought a Metrovac Masterblaster for drying my Journey. My neighbours now really think I'm nuts.

Welcome home. It's a balmy 9 degrees here now! And Watertown, NY recorded the lowest temp in the Lower 48 States today @ -37 degrees F.

Glad you made it home safe. Thanks for the blast of arctic air, single digits here this weekend.
