  1. lol.. I always look at the pacificas and when it comes down to it they do look very similar. Living in WINDSOR, ONTARIO where they were built we used to see a ton of them, now I cant even remember the last time I saw one but i did love them.
  2. they come on with your lights at night... they are very dim and just give more of a glow rather then light up...
  3. they are a steal rim with chrome clad inserts so to say put over top... the rim is the same pattern as the chrome clad insert put on top so yes you can still see the brake calipers but what you have is a steel rim with fake chrome cladding over top. I have argued with my dealer when i ordered mine RT as they were a FREE upgrade but I dont want them
  4. it frustrates me as a MOLD MAKER to see a job come through our shop (journey intake for one) that our shop had outsourced in china to have the steel pastic injection molds made, then we get it here in North America and stamp MADE IN USA on the mold, inject it here and ship it to mexico... I would like to see a future where we support local and mean it !!! CANADA and USA both have a high unemployment rate and things like this could help jump start our local economy.
  5. 800 KM is what it suggests before towing....thanx never saw that in the manual before So for me thats about a month or so before I start towing which is more then enough time..
  6. no factory hitch for me... I always install a HIDDEN HITCH brand one that i pick up at our local trailer store. It really isnt that hard and takes about 1 to 2 hours with just me. The biggest part is dropping the mufflers to tighten a few bolts. I put it on my 2010 journey and will be doing it again with our new one. You can save have the money by doing it yourself.
  7. Thanx for the message... I couldnt respond to it as i dont have enought post here yet(need 30). I talked to the guy and will prob be booking an appointment in the spring, I always love to support the smaller business for stuff like that
  8. the rustproofing and undercoaing I am having done at time of delivery as they carry a lifetime warentee when done then. I still need to get a paint sealer and scotch guard on the interior so i will check out the PM you sent....
  9. it looks more like the white interior, must be my monitor... looks great.... we ordered ours with the beige and are looking forward to seeing it as they didnt have one on the lot with it to show us.... the carpet in those is black though right ??? also I will prob be using my cleaner alot with 3 kids touching the light color all the time...lol.. does it get looking dirty fast ???
  10. We are taking possession of a brand new journey with the tow prepe package. I will be getting the hitch installed in the spring and was wondering what the break in period on the motor is until it is recommend good for towing. When we got our 2010 journey it was in the fall so we had all winter to break in the engine before we started camping and towing but with our new one it will only be a few months before we would like to start towing. Is there a recommended amount of KM or M that we need to be cautious of. We are planning of keeping this journey for a long time and do not want to void/ruin our powertrain warrenty.
  11. is this nav system a problem on alot of 2013 and has it been fixed now. We have ordered a 2013 RT with the NAV system, it should be here within the month now, and hope we dont have to do the run around that has happened here. We have a 2010 and have never had a problem except the brakes needed to be replaced(im sure all of us have had to do this) so as a whole i am quite happy with the JOURNEY but a issue like this one would cause me to think about going somewhere else for my next car pruchase....
  12. So is there an answer to the towing debate... I have a 2010 and with 1 to 2 passengers the rating is 3500 for the 3.5 motor. That number decreases as the number of occupants increases to a max of 7 passengers and 2500lbs capacity. The 2013 is rated with 1 to 2 passengers at 2500LBS and thought that dodge underrated it as they must have found some problems over the years and that number needed to be adjusted. Personally I have a popup trailer with a dry weight of 2800LBS and have never had a prob towing it with 5 passengers but we do have the trailer brake controller that takes the stress off the tow vehicles. We live in canada so extreme temperatures that exist from over heating have never been an issue for me and yes we had the tow prep package installed. we are currently upgrading from a 2010 FWD to a 2013 AWD and were a little concerned at first but im sure we will be fine...
  13. I dont think its the same motor for front and rear as if that was the case it would come out the front and rear whenever you hit either sprayer control.. Im thinking there is a seperate motor for each and that is your problem.... if it is two seperate motors then a fuse may be the problem...
  14. it wouldnt surprise me that the whole panel would have to come off, they dont make these things easy to work with like they used to
  15. It happens to me also when its really cold(below freezing and has been sitting) and to me it sounds like the starter sticking in the engage position and being turned by the motor for a few revolutions. It is similar to an older car when you would try to start the car after it was already started and would make a sound similar to that.
  16. well we were going to but a new journey anyways so I was just wondering... our new journey is already on order and we are going to love it either way.. as far as the negative equity we will be rolling it into the new loan but also changing the terms(48 months) so we can pay it down faster... the money was never really an issue we just like the neweer model and wanted to upgrade to the leather and GPS also, something we should have done when we made our 2010 purchase but didnt....
  17. the last comment is exactly what im talking about when i say made in mexico... Its not a bad thing but it would be nice to know im supporting more local jobs... I live in windsor where the dodge minivan is made and would love to see more factories to create more jobs locally but it is what it is... and actually I work at a mold shop where we made the mold for the intakes they use on the journey so i guess in a way they did support localing when it comes to the desgin, just not the finished product...
  18. when playing music from a USB stick(MP3) make sure the sound quality is 128 BIT ot better.... I use 192 BIT setting when i rip music to maintain as much of the CD quality as i can. It does come with a price of space( at 192BIT a song is 9megs as compared to a 128BIT 4megs) but is worth it in quality. I find the stock system to be great but you are correct on the satelite signal being weaker then a regualr one.
  19. our journey is a 2010 and only has the 3.5 but yeah it pulls real easy... our camper is a 12 foorter with the 2 foot storage compartment (18' tow lenght, 2800 lbs dry weight) and to be honest i dont even feel it when we are driving and have to do a double take in the side views to make sure its still there ... we are getting a 2013 RT with AWD and the 3.6 so i will let you know this spring if I can feel the difference which im sure i will...
  20. yeah we are having a hard time finding a beige interior on any dodge lots so we are looking forward to seeing it !!! im going to look for that opti-coat discussion but please copy the link here in case i cant find it
  21. We are ordering the while pearl tri coat with the beige interior, how do you like the interior ??? Also on a side note a worked with a guy named Roland O. At build a Mold, by chance is that you as he went by the nickname Rolly ??
  22. the AWD is something we werent really considering but it comes standard on the R/T... we looked into building a CREW with all the options of the R/T and it came out to the same price so we figured why not...
  23. its just one of the things the dealership is saying, i laugh as i share the same opinion as you about actual savings, but we need the bigger motor for towing our pop up camper... plus i was just wondering about how the AWD will affect gas milage as well...
  24. has anyone owned an older journey and a newer one and compared REAL WORLD fuel milage difference. I know there is the stats on each motor but that isnt a true value of daily driving....we are currently looking to upgrade from our 2010 to a 2013 and the dealship keeps talking that we are going to save a ton on fuel cost. Also we are going from a regular 3.5 to a AWD 3.6...
