  1. I have been trying to look into why this is and I cant seem to find a good answer. I have been told by DODGECACARES that it has to do with engines overheating thus the decrease so I wouldnt push any DJ into the 3500lbs range to be safe. I dont really think any crossover type vehicles like the DJ carry high towing capacity ratings and have the third row....
  2. the new guy, can't remember his name, is using the DODGECARES account to continue support so you still contact the same member on here as before...
  3. the hitch itself is very easy to install... the hardest part is dropping the muffler mounts at the rear but bolting up is a snap, only took me about 2 hours by myself. My biggest concern with your setup is what are you going to be towing ?? without the tow prep package which includes an oil coole rto prevent the motor from overheating and is only rated at 1000 LBS.. If you were to get the oil cooler install aftermarket your towing capacity would jump to 2500 LBS, just something to concider. As far as the LED tail lights, it sounds like the problem existed on the 2011 when they first came out and have been fixed fro 2012 and up just make sure you get the correct wireharness for your year and you should be good, if not its a quick trip to the dealership to have the computer flashed...
  4. I PMed DODGECARES for you and forwarded this post so hopefully you will hear from him soon ....
  5. Try sending him a message directly...
  6. I would never pay 1200 for a mopar hitch... they are over priced and not worth the money... the 200.00 dollar ones have always worked great for me and take about 2 hours to install by myself.. I would def put up a stink and get my money back !!!! and as far as i know there is no reason for that backorder as it is the same hitch they have been using from 2009 and up. all DJ have the same bolt pattern and bolt up the same so I dont understand where the shortage is coming from as they should be making those things around the clock for 4 years now...
  7. never had this happen when we had our 2010 ?? anything could be interfering with it i guess, if it works everywhere but not in one area then best not to park there ... also check the batteries like other have said....
  8. welcome from another canadian
  9. I think when it comes down to it it should have just been an option to get either set of rims... the chrome rims look great but to me and most not worth the 600.00 price tag for a few pieces of shiney plastic....
  10. 3 kids is the reason why we also chose the DJ .. we loved our 2010 so much we just traded into a 2013 and love it !!!
  11. here is a search i did on EBAY : http://www.ebay.ca/sch/i.html?_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0&_nkw=dodge+chrome+license+plate+frame&_sacat=0&_from=R40 seems to be some good quality ones, even mopar ones with dodge written on them...
  12. is this the tick that you hear when you first start up the car ??? our 2010 used to do that for the first few minutes of starting the car but then went away.... Our new 2013 doesnt do it yet but i will def keep this in mind...
  13. Back to the dealership I SAY !!!! lol...I know it is a pain to drop off your car and then pick it back up but with any new car why do it when thats what warentees are for
  14. the shell car washes is when it happens for me too ... We just went through the same car wash again yesterday and it didnt leak as bad. Like you said its just a drop or two but it startled us the first time as we shouldnt expect any water to enter a new car with a sunroof. I think this is a major flaw in DODGES sunroof design and they need to add a secondary seal behind the first to prevent this problem. Also in talking with the TECHs at my dealership, back in 2011 when they first started getting multiple people complaining of water leaking the original supplier of the sunroofs went out of business because of all the warentee repairs they had to do. But now they are told to tell us that it can happen from time to time under high pressure water situations and is a rare occurence. As long as the roof doesnt leak from water falling on it (rain or pouring or water onto it when closed) then it is considered good and doesnt need to be replaced.
  15. hello and welcome ... glad to be the first to say hi !!!! no trips planned this weekend but alot of camping trips this summer, we just traded in our 2010 DJ for a 2013 AWD R/T DJ and look forward to getting it ready to tow ...
  16. alright cool, ill keep that in mind if i have any trouble before I start to pull my hair out wondering what i did wrong...lol
  17. yeah when we first got our 2010 DJ I was scared when the instructions told you to remove the bumper but one look under tells a different story ... you mention that you had to flash the computer ??? the wire harness that came with my 2013 DJ has the relays to allow the trailer lights to work so I was just wondering what they flashed ??
  18. well after arguing with the dealship I have been told to just deal with as its a flaw that is known to all sunroofs made after 2011 for chrysler. It only happens when the high pressure jets hits the seal and pushes the seal down alittle. It doesnt happen when it rains or if you pour water on it. Im not done yet but thats the answer i got today...
  19. you have to pay for it when ordering the car.. you need to upgrade the radio to the 8.4N by clicking the NAV/Safe and Sound Group, at least thats how you get it in canada. Its an extra 1200.00 option.... If you are ordering one that is on the lot then you have to settle with what options it has. I would suggest ordering one and add the options you want to.
  20. We recently took possession of a 2013 DJ R/T with the sunroof. When we went through a touchless carwash some water blew by the seal towards the rear of the sunroof. We brushed it up as maybe we had the sunroof popped just a touch. We then went through another carwash the next weekend and the same thing happened. Now it is only a few drops that come in but is this normal ??? we took it in to the dealship and they told us that all 2011 dodge/chrysler products ,not just the DJ, have this issue and will never go away or be fixed. They said that they changed the way the sunroof seals. Now our 2010 didnt have any issues with the sunroof but the change didnt happen till the next model year. I cant believe that a brand new car can have known issues that get pushed aside and that we as customers just need to deal with it. has anyone else had any issues with thier sunroofs leaking during car washes ???
  21. can you give a run down of what you bought ?? I want to do this and get conflicting reports of what i need , any help would be great !!!! also looks awesome !!!
  22. welcome.. we also love the third row !!! the extra seats are great when unexpected people want to tag along ...
  23. no but on our 2010 that we just traded in i had to have the rear spakers changed twice due to the speakers themselves crackling, but never any rattle from the door itself...
  24. now that I have played with the radio for a few weeks I have come to a conclusion. I actually like the sound now after playing with some settings. I have also noticed that the bass is more punchy rather then sloppy like my 2010. The infinity systems sub was more all over bass which made for a constant rumble while the newer alpine system is more refined and responses to only really short punchy bass notes and sounds stronger when activated. Im assuming what has happened is that the alpine system has been tailered via the sub to be less responsive to all sounds and concentrates its energy to specific bass frequencies no matter where you adjust the equalizer.
