just to update I was looking at the wire harness that came with my 2013 journey as we got the TOW PREP PACKAGE and noticed that the harness comes with all the necessary relays to bump up the power for the trailer lights. I think this was a flaw that was discovered when they first went to the LED lighting and corrected with this harness. Also the harness does not plug into the lights itself like my 2010 DJ but there is its own connection located at the rear of the car that bybass the lights all together. If i didnt have this harness it was going to cost me another 70 bux in parts to have the wiring done at a shop so if you have any possibility of wanting to tow the TOW PREP PACKAGE is well worth the money as you get all the proper relays along with the extra oil cooler...

just looked at ours and didnt even notice the compass heading in the NAV BUTTON. we do have it there, cool !!

is the nav system a GARMIN or another brand on the 2011s...

Wives do need more reasons to try and tell us where to go...lol..

I have the 8.4n and do not have the compass display but think that maybe the GPS takes care of all the compass settings automaticallyand if you want to display a compass you will just use that...IDK....just a thought....Its kinda redundant to display the compass in the EVIC/8.4 screen at the same time. also i do find it wierd that it displays the outside temp. in both also....

thats what i had heard, thats why i was wondering if they updated it for the 2013....

when we ordered our 2013 DJ there was a promotion going on with a 700 REBATE and free upgrade to the CHROME CLAD rims. I argued with the guy that I didnt want them but he insisted that the rebate was worth more then the rims and will help with resale of the car. I also suggested switching them with the stock R/T (spidery looking) rims and he said they may not be compatible with our setup. lol. cop out.... but once are car came inthey exchanged them before i picked the car up as a suprise and we were very happy !!! the stock R/T rims are one of the reasons we started looking into upgrading our 2010 and dont like the plasticy feel when you touch the supposed upgraded rims. I understand it looks flashier but 600 seems a little steep for plastic covers. But in the end we got what we wanted and got to keep the rebate also, that kind of service is what keeps me going back to chrysler...

thanx... sounds like it was just a myth that i just heard, but yeah im going to have one installed by a shop, did the hitch on my 2010 and really dont want to do it again as it was a pain in the butt...lol

isnt there the little badge on the inside of the door where the side view mirrors are. On my SXT it had INFINITY SOUND SYSTEM and on my 2013 it says ALPINE SOUND SYSTEM...Im pretty sure they are all made by alpine now...

just looked at our 2013 R/T with the 8.4N and we have the compass display in the EVIC but not in the 8.4n screen unless you go into the GPS. There is also no option in settings to calibrate or control the compass so should I be asking about an update/flash for it ?? we just took possession of it last week and was built between the dates listed on the newest TSB.

I have my MP3 library on an SD card, they are the same rips that i played in my 2010 and the sound system still doesnt messure up. Im hoping that once the sub breaks in that it will increase. I play alot of bassy music(skrillex, korn, NIN) and really enjoy the bass in them.

We have only have our new 2013 R/T AWD for 1 week but already have some godo and bad points to make so i will just start this topic now and update as time passes The improvements from our 2010 to 2013 are amazing. The newer interior is top notch and look forward to seeing what they have in store for the future of the DJ. We upgraded our radio this time to the 8.4N and love it !! The only exception is the lack of a harddrive(2010 had one) but after picking up a 32gig SDHC card I understand why they axed it. It is so much easier to just plug the card into my computer load it up with songs and shove it in the car and forget about it. then when I want to change down the road all i do is take my card with me. Our 2010 DJ you had to transfer your data onto a USB stick and then upload it into the car, and BTW I lost all my music from my old DJ as there is no way to get it off ... One other gripe I have about the radio is the ALPINE radio. All i can say is THUMBS DOWN !!!! I am already looking for a way to increase the BASS to come close to what i had in our 2010 SXT with its INFINITY system. That thing would bump compared to this new system. I guess when you take the whole package(interior and exterior changes) its understandable that some things had to sacrifice in the name of progress it just sux it had to be the speakers. I also love the new exterior facias(bumpers) and the heated seats and heated steering wheel are a nice touch of class. Overall I am very impressed with upgrade and can't get enough of that new car smell, lol. i also understand why they got rid of the cooler in the dash of our 2010 as we never really used it and love the look of all the curves of the 2013. The RED/BLACK look of the instrument cluster and EVIC system make for a very pleasent ride at night and is very easy on the eyes, it also helps that red/black are my favorite colors . Well after only one week this is what my impression is and so far do not regret the upgrade.

Im actually suprised noone has created a hack for this... I only d/l movies any more and it would be a great option

what do you mean it gives you an input ?? without the lockpick I have the aux video input....

lol...i think its more about letting the passenger watch instead of starting out the window but i can see how it would be a distraction for the driver as well.... especially night time driving....I peronally dont even want to know if this works on our DJ and wouldnt want the distraction of flickering images while doing 100KM down the highway ...

nothing comes to mind of what to check for.... We just traded in our 2010 SXT and never really had any stand out issues with it the 3 years we owned it. I can only attest to the the fact that they are known for pre maturely wearing brakes, a quick look around the forum with show that but besides that we were very happy with it and upgraded to a new Dodoge journey

thanx BUD !!! only had it a few days and loving it already.... I miss putting my key in to start the car though, going to take some getting used to,lol.... I am also pricing out a RALLYE R/T painted front grille(body color). As an after thought i prob should have just ordered the RALLYE R/T but i wanted to the roof rails.

just picked up our 2013 DJ R/T and i am sorry to inform you that it doesn't support any video formats .. it lacks any CODECS necessary to decode any video formats... I was just as bummed as im sure you are....The only format it is compatible with is audio(.MP3) ... Also the only way you can play a DVD is by putting one in the player, you cant even rip a DVD and put it on a USB drive...

based on what i have read so far I have a question : Lets say 2 years into having new tires you get a flat that cannot repair in one wheel. When replacing that 1 tire you might have to replace ALL based on the fact that wheel wear can mess with the AWD as that tire would have more tread on it ??

Our first DJ(2010 SXT) was black. We loved it but it showed the dirt really bad. We also had the black interior and this time around we wanted something different. We ordered the tan interior as we have never seen one and glad we did as it looks great but the black was also on our list .... This is our 2010 SXT. We loved it !!! Let me know if you want any other pictures or any questions about the 2013 DJ !!!

I am also waiting on the CHROME gas cap I ordered. I wasnt in when we took delivery but should be soon
