  1. No thankfully, I rushed out to go see if the other drivers were ok. Nobody was injured but it was freezing cold. It was -32 celcius.
  2. They all do it. It's they way the power steering pumps are designed. My neon 2001,my journey 2009 were doing it and now my journey 2010 is doing it. They only do it when it's cold. The best thing is to keep your fluids at a good level and changing your fluids when they get a couple of years old. They say we dont have to, but all fluids get thicker when cold specialy when they get older. Keeping it fairly new will make it easier on the pump but the noise is just them whining it's too cold.
  3. Their little way.. (Sorry could not edit for some reason)
  4. It feels like you would rather have you fingers and toes cut off because they are just too painful. But the worst is at the end of january and early february when it is - 40 with a lot of windchill making it feel like -52. I had 3 dodge car in my life and every winter when it is cold the make the same sound. the colder it gets the louder the noise is but it always fades away after a few seconds. I think it's nothing to worry about but keeping all of your fluids at a good level and fairly new will make it easier on your car. Fluids usualy get thiner when hot and thicker when cold, specialy when they get old. it's just there little way to let you know they dont feel like being driving. Just like us every morning when it's cold you just dont want to get out of bed.
  5. I also agree with P-R-N-D-N-R-P process it works all the time. It is just the transmition not being in gear properly. The computer wont let you start unless you are in park or neutral and unfortunately it seem to happens to quite a few with the 6 speed trans.
  6. I had the same problem at first. The starter would just go CLICK! and nothing would start. I tried so much that it eventualy drained my battery. I thought it was my batterie that did not have enough power left, so i ended up buying a new one. Everything was fine until it did it again. I was there trying everthing, boosting it with another car, waiting couple of minutes before trying again until i tried moving the shifter. it moved down in gears without pressing the brake so i moved all the way to drive and back to park and at that point i heard a small click as if the transmision had re-engared into park. The car started without problem like nothing had happen. The next time it happenned i did the same thing bring it into gears and back up to park and it started right away. It must be the way we bring the the shifter back when we put it on park. I have since made sure to bring the shifter far the corner of the park to engage the transmision properly and it has not done it since. Good luck with yours and i understand your frustration.
  7. Time for a new journey. Literaly, After 2 weeks of dealing with the insurance i purchased a 2010 Black SXT just like my old one newer less mileage. It will be like it was never gone.
  8. Help my sister move on the first day. you can fit quite a lot in a journey.
  9. The first day i took my new baby out.
  10. Has i was leaving the garage where it was declared a write due to cost of repair.
  11. Lost my baby to a highway accident. Someone decided to brake to a full stop on the far left lane how does that make sense.
  12. When you c'ant find a parking, you make one. Had parked on a parking divider between the trees.

    Journey SXT 2009-2013

    The short journey
  14. Hey Guys, It actually is the power sterring pump. My 2001 Neon did the same and several cars from different companies does it too it is just the pump working too hard. When the temperature is low under 5 deg the fluid thikens and makes it hard for the pump. Best thing is to flush the whole lines and add new fluid right before the winter. While your replacing the fluid remove the reservoir and clean it because there is a filter inside that cloggs after a while. It is just the way the pump is made it sucks but so does winter so it is just another part of the game.
  15. Your right sorry about that for some reason i had in my mind that if your engine run longuer you'll burn more gas but i guess when they says 8.2L/km it's all accounted for. I got the 9.1 just like that because if 100km/h is around 8.2 the 120km/h would be around 9.1 maybe not even. Thanks
  16. I get that you get more wind drag and on a short distance like if your rushing for the next red light you let more gas by pressing more on teh throttle You just burned more gas for no reason but lets say you drive a 120km/h and do 9.1L per 100km because of the wind drag, You need to do 300KM. it will take 2.5hr to do at 9.1L per hour or 0.1516L per min so it takes 2.5hx60min=150min 150min x 0.1516L= 22.74L to get there now if you drive 100KM/H and do 8.2L per 100 km with 300KM to do it will take 3 hr. gives you 0.1366L per min at 180min gives 0.1366x180min= 24.59L so you end up saving 1.85L and 30 min.
  17. I drove 500km last summer with 3 personne and 5 luggage in my 3.5L SXT FWD i was getting 8.6 L per 100KM i was quite impress. I actually get 12.8 in the city wich is not too bad for a 6 Cyl i guess. One more thing does the speed really affect the fuel consuption on the highway. I mean if you drive 120KM/H and you have 200KM to do you get there in 1h45m taking a little bit more gas. If you drive 100km/h taking little bit lest gas you get there in 2h.So if you drive at 100km/h you be burning gas for 15Min more does that come to the same thing.
  18. Do you guys know if the oil reminder turn on when it is at 5000k or when the engine find the oil uneffective.
  19. That's good to know thank you very much i was scared it would be a 1000$ or so. Thanks
  20. Hey Guys, I had the same trouble with my 2009 Sxt the rims were touching the caliper. I did not notice it until i went to use it. When i tried to remove the lock nuts my lock nut adapter broke so i was stuck with wheels on it that i could not use. It became a big pain in the A. I had to drill the studs and replaced them. Bought regular nuts and i'm never puttin those lock shit again. However i went to the dealer and they gave me those 1/4" spacer and now the fit perfectly it is just enough to clear the caliper. I think they sell those at any tire shop.
