  1. Mostly city driving I presume? Just returned from a trip to Arkyland. 28.1 going (5 people and luggage) and 26.4 return (five people and stacked ot the roof in trunk). Set it on cruise. Lots of freeway and some mountains. 2.4 2012. Gentle acceleration helps a lot for city numbers, BTW.
  2. Also, many of the engine components are coming back here. The Daimler days moved things like camshafts and connecting rods and more to China and such, but the new admins are moving more parts back here. :-)
  3. Clicking is relays relative to the computer activating and deactivating components. Pretty cool electrical system on these.
  4. Okay. Six months in, 16K miles and absolutely zero issues except for the known fuel gauge reading empty early issue. 2.4 SXT with 4 spd. Incredible braking for a vehicle this size. Luvvit.
  5. My dealer is already scheduling me at my next oil change. :-)
  6. Thank you for your diligence in this matter. The problem just really was noticable on teh last two road trips we took. I will have it taken care of. Only flaw so far in my favorite vehicle I have ever owned.
  7. Now I just gotta find 2 -4 crossbars. Thank you!
  8. Wondering if I need the roof bows to mount one or if there is one that will mount straight to the rails.

    First problem

10k miles here and no vibe.
  10. On a long trip to Michigan I was able to have the nozzle pop and fit another 4-5 gallons in slowly.
  11. Carbon build up is from running rich. Sensor is not working right or dirty injectors one or the other. Now the why....?
  12. I tried teh slower fill and it worked fine. Wierd.
  13. Ditto on the fuel consumption. Ours has gone up 2.1 MPG in 3500 miles.
  14. Let me correct myself. I knew that GM makes a bunch of engines there in China, and Chrysler (under dumbler) made a bunch of parts there, such as camshafts, etc, and I thought I was told that back then, some of the brake hardware was. If I am mistaken in that, I apologize. I can stand corrected, as I have no firsthand knowledge. I do have the big brakes. Mine is an SXT 4 cyl, 4 spd, FWD. Built in May I think. Maybe they have fixed the issue. As for the retrofit, is it doable for those with the old style brakes?
  15. My SXT brakes are big enough to barely fit inteh 17" wheels. The problem is Chinese steel of the rotors and high friction, low wear coefficient pads. A rotor upgrade is due. The pads also. I am not familiar with the slider setup on these calipers, but a little insight would be nice. Chrysler has been bringing a lot of the parts manufacturing back to the US, but I do not know about the brake rotors other than Daimler and Cerebrus had the stuff made in China.
  16. Wow. My 94 Chrysler T&C didn't get any brakes till 110K miles. My '12 will be watched closely. As a Mopar man from a Mopar family, I will be watching very closely.
  17. There is one thing I do, I always use the Shell gas in my stuff, as I have several VERY high mileage vans that have used it exclusively at the business. 280K, 230K, and 341K. The nitrogen really does help clean the valves.
  18. Here it is possible to get 0% ethanol, but hard to find. There is one within 10 miles of me at 90 octane. I notice a large difference in my other vehicles with non. I get 48 hwy in my Geo Metro hypermiling with, and nearly 54 hypermiling at 0% ethanol. That is measurable.
  19. Hypermiling is where you don't focus as much on maintaining the speed, but holding teh gas in the same place. Gaining MPH going downhill and losing some uphill.
  20. My first trip to Arkansas netted 30.1 going and 28.5 returning. Hypermiling going and set cruise going back. Second trip at 3000 miles got 31.7 going and 29.4 return. Actual was close to the EVIC, only off by a little over 1% on mine. I am impressed.
  21. My wife tuned in to a radio station the day it happened to her that had the info "broadcast" and the radio set itself. 4.3 setup 2012 here.
  22. Wow. No such probs on my 2012. The rear door locks are a bit annoying, but thats it.
  23. Having driven both, I bought a '12. I drove an 09 and a 12. The 09 felt cheap and unfinished, and "corner cut" to me. Th e12 feels and drives and so far is a finished product for me. I boutght a 12 SXT 2.4.
  24. My wife bestie has a Tahoe. Her opinion our Journey is a lot better too. IMHO, the 12 is WAY better than the 09 or 10 for quality. It is almost like someone cares now. LOL
