  1. I'm sure Goodyear is working on a 19" replacement. I would prefer putting Goodyear Eagle GT's on when it's time to replace. I have always enjoyed the performance of the GT's on every vehicle I've owned. Just got our DJ so tire replacement might not be until 2014. Hoping for Goodyears by then.

  2. Hello all,

We have had our new 2012 DJ SXT for 3 weeks now. Loving it by the way. Would like to ask for some advice and/or input on the following.

I have had the hood up a couple of times and am not impressed by the hood support rod. Not sure about other model years but on our 2012 with the Pentastar V6 we have a cheap hood support rod. I want to convert this to strut(s) if possible.

Are they available for the DJ?

    What size strut?

    One or two?

Is there mounting support already there?

So far this is the only thing that is bugging me. I have read they may have changed due to wind, price or strut failure - whatever the reason, it sucks.

Any part #'s or advice on the correct size of strut to purchase would be very much appreciated.

    .

    Thanks in advance,

    LRD

  3. I took mine out, and also trimmed the necked down area on the inlet pipe, where it used to mount, with a razor blade. Also removed the rubber flap from the hood, that sits in front of inlet pipe.

This is great info. Just installed a K&N Filter and also noticed this obstruction - Will be opening the area back up today and cutting back the tube and checking for the flap. Didn't see the flap when I put the K&N in but will also remove it.
  4. Yah... Ours came with a cheap plastic dealership emblem. Used a hair dryer to heat it up and it came right off. Removed the tape residue with micro fibre cloth, Lucas Slick Mist and some elbow grease. Not sure I'd use a heat gun - they may cause damage if you get distracted for a couple of seconds. Wish the dealership would actually spend $50 on a high quality emblem and I may just leave them on. I mean what's $50 on a $30,000+ vehicle.

  5. Hey folks, Just taken receipt of my 2012 Journey R/T Rallye in all black, hope it was a good choice??

Welcome. Black would not have been my first choice but I am sure it looks awesome. Just watch out for those gas station "brush" washes - they do the damage Black over time.

    Cheers

  6. Thank you for the correction and sorry for the mistype. Here's a link to a photo of the AVS hood shield on my Journey.

    Journey AVS deflector

That looks really nice coolram62. I like the "wrap around" look. I am wanting one for my new 2012 SXT - gonna go have a look at the AVS and see if they have one for the 2012's yet.

    Cheers

UPDATE: No listings for 2012??? AVS & Weather Tech??? Gonna have to make some phone calls.

  7. Try this link for those items

    http://www.autoxclus...03f45554465537f

Great site. Thank you for letting us all know. I like the fact that all the products tend to be German bulit rather than "Made in China" as we are all so use to seeing on almost everything we buy.

Maybe we should have a "sticked" thread which lists reputable suppliers of Journey accessories - when someone finds a new site, let an admin know and it could be added to the list??? Just an idea for Admin to think about.

Thanks again for the link. Already have a couple of items on my "wish list"

  8. Hey everyone,

Just purchased a 2012 Dodge Journey SXT. Pick it up on Tuesday June 12, 2012. Very excited. Love this SUV. Been a GM customer for over 20 years (brother works at GM in Oshawa, ON). Went and looked at some GM products similiar to the Journey and ran off the lots. We checked out the Journey on the web first, then test drove, then purchased. I love the lines. I love the interior. First time Dodge owner. Can't wait to get behind the wheel. Below are some of the things our SXT came with...

    • Ext. Colour: Red Tri-Coat Pearl
    • Int. Colour: Black
    • Engine: 3.6L V6 VVT
    • Horsepower: 283hp @ 6,350RPM
    • Wheels: 19" x 7" Cast Aluminum
    • Convenience Group I (8.4 inch LCD with Navigation and 1 year Sirius Sat)
    • Safe & Sound Group
    • Trailer Tow Prep Group
    • Steering wheel mounted audio controls
    • Wireless phone connectivity
    • Garage door transmitter: HomeLink
    • Parking sensors: rear with camera

Plus all the other standard stuff. We also are having it Rust Proofed and the interior Scotchguarded.

Glad to be here and contribute to topics and create new ones :)
