  1. With regards to aftermarket components, surely no manufacturer's warranty would be applied to any component that failed due to this aftermarket component.

Essentially, there would be no warranty applied to any component that fails to due the after market filter that would have normally been covered.

Be cautious when installing aftermarket parts.

Thank you DCAC for the summary and I do respect this stance, however, this statement leaves EVERY part failure, behind the filter media, "open to interpretation" of what caused the failure. To me, this means that in theory, one could always blame the filter media - if one wanted to.

DTSGUY has the answer above. I know I prefer an aftermarket filter and will continue to use it but the OEM media is close by when required.

  2. Hey all. I use an Android app on my S3 called Torque Pro. It is an app that runs with a Bluetooth adapter (available off eBay for $30) and provides over 100 points of ECU data from speed & rpm's to intake air temp & 0 to 60 time. It can also read codes and clear codes. You can take video with multiple parameter gauges imposed on the screen.

Just wondering if anyone else uses this. I will post a 0 to 60 video in the next couple of days. So far, a 7.6 is what I have run - direct from the OBD - not GPS speed.

Anyway, great little app to have - if your a "data" person.

  3. Hey all.

Just purchased a 24' ladder. It is 12' long - extendable to 24'.

Anyway, need some advice on how best to tie it down securely. What are the best type of tie downs to use? Any learned lessons to pass on? New tie down products?

I am using the OEM crossrails. Thanks in advance.

  4. Welcome and congratulations on your new ride. I also have the pearl coat, only in red. Love it!

Question... what is the bulb # that you used for the LED fogs??? I would like to do this as well but can't get a part #.

    Cheers,

    Rob

  5. I don't know if the 2012 and up has it in the evic but in mine a 2011

SXT the evic shows hours-minutes-seconds in the trip menu and it

starts timing when you set the trip odometer,I have used this method

    myself.

My apologies bigstr. You are correct. I was looking at the "engine hours" screen in the EVIC.

  6. If you must know average mph you could set the Trip odometer

at the beginning and write down the engine hours shown in the EVIC

    when start the trip.

Simply divide the trip odometer milage by the change in engine hours

to give you average miles per hour.

This won't work. Engine hours are by the hour - not minutes. Could be 3 minutes after or maybe 58 minutes after the hour - not accurate. Use your GPS.
  7. Hey all,

Saw this image posted by Robert from New Zealand. It shows the e-brake handle between the seats to the left of the center console. This looks aesthetically really good. I like it. Here in North America, we are given a peddle way off to the left of our feet and it is tucked up almost under the dash. You can't use the e-brake for any winter fun here - drifting :)

I also notice it's a Dodge not a Fiat. I thought it was Fiat in the Australia / New Zealand part of our earth - guess not.

Anyway, found it to be interesting and wonder why it is not this way here in Canada / USA. I would prefer it with the center console.

Welcome to the forum Robert. Enjoy your new Black RT - looks really nice.

    Cheers

  8. I have a 2700PSI gas pressure washer. I spray the front with the cleaner/degreaser, let it soak while I spray the rest of the truck then blast it. Most come off on the first pass if I let them soak long enough. The really dry exploded ones take a couple of seconds at full PSI.

If you wash your DJ as often as I do, the pressure washer pays for itself in less than a year.

Good luck and PS... I wouldn't use WD40 on paint unless your going to clean & wax the area - same day.

  9. Welcome to the forum. This is our first Dodge as well - Our GM loyality has came to an end.

I have to agree with Redman - new is the way to go but once you start adding packages, that $21,300 can quickly become $30,000+++ so...

    Option #3

Understanding that you would like to keep payments to a minimum, your option #3 sounds like the way to go. You get everything the RT offers (Rims, Leather, Heated Seats, etc) just add the sunroof.

Adding the 8.4 with Nav to a used DJ will run you upwards of $1500.00 installed. Adding a sunroof can run from $400.00 (cheap) up to $1500.00 for one that will operate like factory installed. Adding the backup camera will run around $800.00 installed. Lots to think about eh? :)

    Good luck.
