  1. We've put 2000 miles now on our 2012 Journey Crew. We do mostly highway driving, I'd say 90%. Lots of uphill/downhill highways too. Usually go 75 on the highway. Also use the remote start a lot to run the A/C for a couple of minutes and get her cooling off before we hop in. We are getting 24-25mpg average since day one. Absolutely impressed with this mileage for such a big vehicle and plenty of power. Love it!
  2. All's I can say is I'm glad I got a 2012 Journey. Seems like the older models have ALOT of problems. Feel sorry for you guys!
  3. Like they said, just get the alternate tire size. Only difference really is the 19" tires will run you a bit more money, probably $50 more per tire.
  4. Sweet, thanks for the info. Did you order them from DDM Tuning as well? Are they the 9 LED 42mm bulbs in the rear hatch? I want them to be nice and bright. Thanks on the glovebox LED, didn't think about that. I'll probably get 360degree bulbs for the glovebox and the license plate lights. Thanks!
  5. I sure will, I'll update with pics when I get them. Just FYI, I'm going with the SB60 bulb (way brighter than the CX21 bulbs are).
  6. Cool, I think I'm going to go with the DDM Tuning LED's. Those seem to be the brightest LED replacements out there. I mainly need super bright because of the dark tint in the back, I want to be able to see as good as possible. I'm also ordering 1x 194 LED bulb (for the glove box light), 2x 168 LED bulbs (for the license plate lights), and 2x 578 Festoon LED bulbs (for the rear hatch lights). Call me picky, but I want all of my interior lights to be LED and match the original LED lights in the interior. It's kind of lame Dodge didn't match them all to begin with. Later in the future I'll do HID's for the high/low beams, as well as some LED fog lamps probably.
  7. Sweet, thanks. I'm comparing these two bulbs. The DDM one is 420 lumens and only $10 each (http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/3156-3157LED). Yet the SuperbrightLEDs one is only 170 lumens and $25 each (http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/index.cgi?action=DispPage&Page2Disp=%2Fspecs%2F315x-x45-T.htm). Do you think the DDM one is really 420 lumens or is that bogus? Just wondering why it's so much cheaper (and brighter) than the superbrightLEDs bulb? The DDM one seems like too good of a deal. Anybody purchased from DDM before? Is the white a yellowish white, or bright white color?
  8. Cool, thanks. So it's the same bulb as a 3156 or 7440 then (if I'm reading it correctly)? What's the difference between 3156 and 7440 bulbs? Just want to make sure I get the right ones. And I'm guessing only 1 per side, so 2 bulbs total for the backup lights? Thanks again.
  9. Just put some garbage bags or tarps under them . I didn't get the integrated booster seats, but just put in a couple of car seat mats under our two car seats. I know that doesn't help you at all...
  10. I have a 2012 Crew with the LED brakelights. I want to replace the backup light bulbs with some of the brightest LED bulbs I can find (to see better throught he tint). The manual shows a bulb number of W21W for the backup lamp. I cannot find this bulb number anywhere though. Is there another bulb part number I should be looking for instead that will be a direct replacement? I couldn't get to the bulb either. There's 2 side screws that I undid on the taillight assembly when you lift the hatch. And it makes the taillight housing loose, but I can't pull it off. Are there more hidden clips somewhere? Do I have to take the interior panel off to access the bulb instead? Can't figure it out. Thanks!
  11. I bet the LED ones will look nice, but they probably won't throw much light on the road or be very usefull (by looking at the reviews). It looks like you have to trim them to fit the original socket too, is that true? They must not be an exact replacement then...
  12. Yes, it's 2 hooks on the driver side mat and no hooks on the passenger side.
  13. Oh wow, thanks. I had no idea it didn't meet the Chrysler specs. I'll stick to good ole Mobile 1 synthetic and save $20 each oil change then! Thanks.
  14. What is the error eliminator for? Did you order both 9006 (low's) and 9005 (high beam) kits? Do you think the 4500k will match the fog light color you bought in another thread? Thanks.
  15. Thanks for all the info guys. Do you think it would be worth the extra ~$20 per oil change to go up to Royal Purple? We have extreme heat here in the desert (3 months of 110 degrees F). Any added protection is good for me since we plan to keep this vehicle a long time.
  16. Are you sure those bulbs will fit? My 2012 Crew owner's manual says the foglight is a PSX24W light bulb. Is that the same as H16 bulbs? How hard is it to get to the fog light bulbs? Do you pull of the bottom bumper cover, or do you take off the wheel well plastic covers?
  17. Unfortunetely California requires a front plate. My 2012 crew also came with the plate bracket back in the hatch. I haven't installed it yet, but it looks like you do not have to drill into the bumper.
  18. I've always used the coupons with advance auto website. Never had a problem and pretty decent pricing (with the coupons only). You have to watch out though, sometimes Rockauto.com is cheaper than advanced auto, even with the coupons.
  19. Cool thanks. I'll stick with the 8k miles max then. Will the oil light automatically go away after I change the oil or do I have to manually reset it somehow? Any preferences on oil you guys use?
  20. We've put almost 1000 miles on our Crew. We average 24-25mpg on each tank with ~90% highway driving. I'm highly impressed...pretty darn good for this heavy of a car! It's crazy to see how bad it is for you guys that do mostly city driving.
  21. I just got a 2012 Journey Crew with the 3.6l and I'm looking into what oil to use for the new vehicle. I know to stick with 5w-30, but was wondering if it's worth switching to synthetic. I believe the manual says you're good to go 8k miles between changes with regular old oil and a mopar filter. If I switch to synthetic, can I go a longer distance, or stick with the 8k miles? I do about 30k miles per year, so the longer I can go between oil changes, the better. I've always used Mobile 1, so hopefully that's a good brand to put into Dodge engines? I'm new to dodge, so just wanted to check if there were better brands of oil to use on these engines? Thanks for the help!
  22. Yeah, I take it back, I checked it last night, and it does dim the door cup holders. I didn't notice a difference in the center console cup holders though. It's a very small change, pretty much worthless...
  23. Do you have to have the doors locked or unlocked for it to work?
  24. That's crazy, I really don't see them here in California. One more thing, I thought I read somewhere that you can roll down the front windows with the remote. Wasn't it by hitting unlock twice, and holding on the second press? I couldn't get it to work the other day. Maybe that was an extra option too?
