  1. Excellent news! It's amazing how such a small sensor can F the whole car up! Stupid computers!
  2. Okay thanks...easy enough. Do you guys get the paint pen and a clear coat pen to go on top? It seems like most of the websites try to sell you the color pen and the clear coat pen separate.
  3. Yeah, it's amazing how much cheaper tires are online at Discount Tire (or sometimes Tire Rack). I always use Tire Rack to research the tire quality; then normally order at Discount Tire since it's cheaper there.
  4. I have a couple tiny rock chips very small scratches (mostly on the front of my DJ). What do you guys do about those? Do you get the little paint touchup pens? Do they color match pretty well? I'm sure the dealer has them, but I'm an hour away from the dealer. Would rather just order online if possible. Thanks!
  5. I'm thinking about getting 245/55/19 tires ordered. It's actually the cheapest/best deal I can find for tires out of all the sizes that fit. They are the Firestone Destination LE2. They are rated very highly; ranked #2 on TireRack. They just don't look as cool as other tires . Can get them for $590 with free shipping. DragonSlayer, so that size doesn't rub at all when turning or going over bumps?
  6. That's okay. You'd probably even out with the extra mileage you'd be getting. With the added benefit of extra power on tap! I had a 240sx in college, with an sr20 motor swap and turbo upgrade running 18psi. Put out just over 300rwhp (~350hp at the crank). I got 32-33mpg in that thing (with the occasional throttle romping and fast passes). Yet I could still run 13 seconds at the 1/4 mile track. It's unfortunate it's taken so long for american companies to figure out the huge benefits of turbo's.
  7. http://www.autonews.com/article/20141208/OEM06/312089962/chrysler-pentastar-v-6s-to-get-turbos-and-direct-injection-sources It's about freaking time Dodge! I can easily see the output being 350 for HP and Torque...while still getting over 25mpg. Go Dodge!
  8. You couldn't have said it better. It's pretty obvious they're being paid out when it's always BMW's and Porsche's "winning" their comparisons. Although I would hope they would win being twice the cost!
  9. General rule of thumb is you should avoid buying any make/model in it's first/second year of being released. Let them work out all the bugs on the next gen model. I would go for 2011 and above DJ if I were you.
  10. No idea what you are trying to say. Any festoon bulb that is 42mm will fit in the holder...as long as it's not too wide.
  11. They are a cool white with a slight tint of blue, like most other auto LED's out there. But, I prefer the cool white of soft/warm white. It matches the interior lights great as well as the HID's.
  12. We just passed 74k on our 2012 DJ. We average about 30k miles per year.
  13. It's a 578 bulb. Any 42mm long festoon style bulb will fit. I replaced mine with two of these a couple years ago and they are perfect. Really really bright and great quality! http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/FestoonLED-2323 *Be sure to click the 42mm tab after clicking the link above.
  14. So is it a bad thing or harmful to the HIDs in any way? Anything I need to fix or adjust?
  15. I was just wondering cause when I hit start the other day the lights flickered like usual...then one of them didn't come back on. I had to turn them off manually then back on for it to work. Has worked fine since then. What could've caused that?
  16. Do you guys leave your light switch on auto? Cause if so they come on for a few seconds every time you lock/unlock the doors. And they flicker off for a split second when you start the car. And they turn on/off a lot when going through tunnels or dark places. I'm wondering if this will decrease the life or damage the bulbs or ballasts? Thanks!
  17. I good idea to do a couple times a year is start the vehicle and let it idle with the A/C and defrost blowing full blast. Then spray some lysol through the HVAC intake vent at the bottom of the windshield. I've done that with my prior vehicles to make sure there's no mold/bacteria buildup.
  18. I'm at 74k miles on my 2012 and it still takes exactly 6 quarts to fill her up. I change it every 8k miles with Mobile 1 and I pretty much never have to add any additional oil between the 8k mile oil changes. When I drain the oil I jack the front of the vehicle up enough to just barely lift the tires off the ground. I'm sure that gets out an extra half quart or so than if the vehicle was sitting on level ground.
  19. They should make DJ's with the individual driver settings (that typically control seat/steering wheel/pedal position), but then add transmission settings to the mix that's adapted to each driver. That would be GENIUS!
  20. Yep, the jerky transmission is a known issue on pretty much every single DJ. Some people get it fixed with the software TSB, but for most it appears like the software patch doesn't fix the issue. I've just learned to live with it and kind of "work around" the issue. I find that shifting from park into reverse slowly pretty much gets rid of the clunk. And accelerating either slowly (~25% throttle) or fast (~75% or greater throttle) will greatly improve the 2nd and 3rd gear shifts on my vehicle. For some reason driving with moderate throttle will induce the clunks. I would be very amazed if Dodge bought back your vehicle for the transmission clunks. I don't think they'll ever do that.
  21. Representing the pacific coast in southern Cali! Lol, not sure what we're supposed to use these forum regions for...
  22. Oh my bad, I thought it was electric steering in the DJ. I don't know what I was thinking...obviously it's hydraulic with people having the power steering hoses break on them! Hydraulic steering seems to be fading away these days...
  23. This is what I do for rotating tires front to back and whatnot...just find the sweetspot and mark it with a permament marker on the frame for reference next time. I've also jacked up the front, and put jackstands on both side pinch welds. Then jack up the rear to get all 4 off the ground at the same time (for changing brakes). But it's easier just to use a single jack and do one side at a time.
  24. Welcome, hope you enjoy the forum! 1. I have heard of some people having problems with the seat squeeking. I think they fixed it by putting some felt pads inbetween the the seat latch and base. Just open up the latch and see where it looks like it's been rubbing. Put a little felt sticky pad there and see if it goes away. 2. It's normal...just due to the front doors being twice as big and twice as heavy probably. 3. I've never had a problem with the headlights fogging. They just get dirty and bug splattered...like any other vehicle. If you are certain they aren't leaking or fogging on the inside, then just find some good plastic headlight protectant / wax. That should help deflect the dirty crap and prevent it from sticking there. 4. Mine does this too. It's probably just the alternator hogging more current to provide to the electric steering (think of it as the same as when you turn your A/C on; rpm's will go up 100rpm or so). The rev up to 1000rpm when put into park for a few seconds is probably just the stall convertor. I haven't paid attention to it; I'll see if my vehicle does it too. Enjoy!
  25. I could've sworn I had seen somewhere that 245/55/19 fit...but now I can't find the thread. I guess that one needs taken with a grain of salt. Maybe Timothy Bratzel can prove it fits for us!
