  1. Nice to know how the alert works. I had an old Mazda that would throw an engine light every few months and last a couple months. Although it was just a light it drove me crazy and the mechanic couldn't find any problems with the car. I've priced TPMS from Tirerack and including all taxes, duty, brokerage, and shipping the total price to ship to Ontario is $233 for a set of 4. If you're planning a trip across the border you can save a few bucks. Also, I think the ones from Tirerack and decent quality. Good enough for winters anyway. I have to admit I wasn't too worried about ordering rims online, but given the sizing problems I am starting to wonder if its worth the risk.
  2. Did you remove the honeycomb grille completely? I think I saw threads on here where people with the old grille wanted the honeycomb grille.
  3. Considering the potential damage ethanol can cause along with better mileage, I think the difference in cost is justifiable. I know new engines are supposed to be designed to accept ethanol use, but why take the chance.
  4. Honestly I would prefer steels for the winter, and at the prices you listed I'd save a fair bit compared to tirerack. I guess one concern though is the TPMS, do Canadiantire have'em ? The price from tirerack isn't too bad for them. I guess I'll have to check out CT this week and see what they have. There is enough of us on here, its too bad we can't get a group buy going.
  5. Thanks for the info. I personal would use Shell but I currently get a 8 cent/litre discount at another station, so saving about $5-6 a tank really adds up.
  6. I think in Canada our only option for 0% is with the 91 octane. So it burns as with the price at the pump but comes out about break even with the higher mileage, not to mention how much better it is for the car internals not to have ethanol.
  7. I was expecting a delay for my hitch too when I ordered it after vehicle delivery, but about a month after I had my hitch installed (late June), and yes, its the OE Mopar hitch. I feel bad for you guys, because I have the opposite problem of having a hitch and nothing to tow. Good luck.
  8. From what I've read E85 has a octane level of 110, but because of the chemistry in how it burns you get more "power" but less mileage. I'm curious as to where you buy your 87 octane fuel with 0% Ethanol, as most stations around here have octane blended fuel as follows: 87 = 10% blend, 89 = 5% blend, and 91 = 0% blend (except for Sunoco/Petro stations, because they are all 10% blend).
  9. I've had to engage my ABS recently as well, some guy in a hurry ran a red light. Needless to say everything worked out fine and I stopped in time. I do remember a weird sound when the brakes engaged, and it seemed quite loud.
  10. Has anyone tried 91 octane, or more importantly 0% Ethanol gas? I know there isn't suppose to be any power gains from it, but I have noticed that since I switched to 0% Ethanol gas (usually 91 octane, except for converted Sunoco/Petrocan they are all 10% Ethanol) the distance to empty seems to drop more slowly and the L/100 KM seems to be slowly dropping even with some heavy footed driving through city streets and I use the A/C quite often. Currently I'm 16.2L/100km.
  11. I'm planning on ordering 17s very soon for the winter. Most likely I'll be ordering from Tirerack. Has anyone had any luck with the 17s from Tirerack fitting over the bigger brakes?
  12. I'm not sure if they flashed it or not. Can this be tested with a multimeter? I don't have anything to tow right now, and I'd hate to be a few years down the road and discover I have no power.
  13. Any idea how much gain having the ported TB and IM would bring to the 3.6L? Any negative side effects to either of these? (excluding fuel mileage)
  14. Thanks. Should I also cut the current positive so I don't have two power supplies running to the fogs? Wouldn't want to overload anything.
  15. I was thinking about tapping the liftgate tails into the power for the third brake at the top of the liftgate. I haven't taken the panel off yet, but do you know if the third brake light power supply is accessible behind the liftgate panel or will I need to run wire into the roof/side panel?
  16. Does anyone know if there is a way to rewire the fog lights so that they stay on when the high beams are turned on ? I've seen many other vehicles where the fogs turn off and have always hated it and have always been fortunate to not have a vehicle with this annoying fog light feature, at least until now that is.
  17. I ordered mine from Weathertech.ca. Saved me from finding a vendor and everything was delivered to my door.
  18. I'm considering darkening my tail lights but want a spare set just incase I screw it up. Does anyone know the part numbers for the LED tails lights? Thanks.
  19. Had my DJ in for its first service and had them check the rear A/C. There tests came back colder than spec. I was told that the reason I experienced a delay in rear cold air was that the A/C unit takes a lot of power to do the initial cool down and the rear A/C system will not get as much power as the front until the vehicle is in motion. This sounded acceptable to me because when I started drive the rear A/C cooled down. Either way I'll be keeping an eye on it just incase.
  20. I just noticed that when my DJ is first started after 1+ hours parked the rear A/C is blowing hot air even after 5-10 mins idling. After a short drive though it cools down quickly. No concerns with the front A/C howerver as it cools down really quick. Is it normal for the rear A/C to take a long time to cool down and start blowing cold air?
  21. I have all three rows and cargo liner in Weathertech. I really like them and they cover and fit well. Looking and pictures and comments about the husky liners they do see to cover more area in the front row, but personally I like the design of the Weathertech better. Both are great, just find the set you like.
  22. Do you know if it can be turned on again? I don't mind a feature disabled by default, but like the option to turn it back on if I like. Either way it isn't a big deal, but would like to be able to try the feature to see if I like it or not.
  23. I recently helped a friend modify his 2011 Kia so that the tails on the hatch would light up as brake lights and not just running lights. This was done by tapping a wire to bridge a wire from a dedicated brake light to the power wire of the tail light. Very simple mod and looks great. Just wondering if anyone has seen/tried this kind of mod done with a Journey? On my friends car we tapped in the brake light power wire for the spoiler brake light. I was considering trying this on a Journey, but with a camera and potentially other things I'd prefer to have seen it done before. Also, if anyone is familiar with the wiring of the hatch and could share some ideas of which wires might be bridged that would be great. I'm thinking the best light to bridge with would be the third brake light on top of the hatch.
