  1. Although the speedo difference is only 1% (meaning you'll be doing 60.6mph when reading 60mph) wouldn't the tire width be too much and have potential for tire rub when doing a hard turn?
  2. I thought they approved 235/55/19 ?
  3. Looks to be a problem with at least one White Journey. 2011 or 2012 model based on the front grille and interior dash. She has the 4.3 screen, older front fascia design, 2.4L engine, and do not have the LED tail lights or roof rack. I'll lean towards it being a 2011, possible CVP model, considering what parts of the vehicle I did see in the preview and that the host appeared to be walking by a used car lot filled with Dodge products, but it could still be a 2012. Oh well, we'll find out next week. Should be interesting. My only concern is that our resale values are already not very good, and this could make it even worse. Also, I think the guy in the blue cap stole my DVD shelf :glare:
  4. I had the same thing when I first installed my front weathertech visors, they do settle in eventually and allows for normal auto up/down operation.
  5. I've noticed that when getting out sometimes with the vehicle running and key in my pocket the fob warning goes off and even if I put the fob back on the dash through the window it doesn't go off. However if I open and close the door it picks up the fob on the dash and all is good. It seems that once its picked up the key has left it doesn't rescan for it until the door is opened again. Not completely what you're seeing but still something interesting I've discovered about our fob system.
  6. Very nice Whats the part number for the mufflers? I've been searching the Megan Racing website and found they have axle back exhaust systems and coil over systems for a Sienna but not specific for a Journey. Do they think a Sienna has more demands for performance upgrades than a Journey? Or is the Journey just set up well from the factory that it doesn't need as much help?
  7. Will you be doing a test fit right after purchasing just to make sure?
  8. Thats great news. I'm not sure the part # for the rim at CT, but my end price was 1099 everything included. Unfortunately though they didn't fit. I'm not overally worried about catching the rebate date as long as I can get decent tires/rims that fit properly. Please update when you have the rims installed.
  9. Another option might be to connect a audio cable from the iPad headphone jack into the radios AUX jack. You might not have the same control over the music, but it might be an option to at least listen to it. (Also not sure if the 09-10 models have the AUX audio jack)
  10. Basically every vehicle back to 2001. How can the same part fit all those applications?
  11. Thanks. Can you confirm that this is the correct part for the 3.6L ?
  12. I'm leaning the same way, now just need to find some cheap alloys. Spacers do not reduce the available stub as they have their own studs. Yes, fitting the caliper within the rim is the easy part. The problem is the caliper is thicker than the smaller calipers and the rim is not deep enough to fit around it.
  13. When I had mine in for rims they tried 17s and 18s. The offset for the 17s were 40mm and in their system it specifically stated it was for the 2012 Journey that has 19 inch factory wheels, no mention of the calipers in the listing though. Doing some research last night I'm thinking winter alloys might be a better option because the spokes being flush to the outside of the rim, until the steels that attach to the rim wall further in and causing our clearance issues for the calipers. Either that or get wheel spacers.
  14. It took me for a surprise too.
  15. I double checked tirerack.com and they include the hub centering ring with their wheels, wondering if these rings will allow for better depth clearance of the calipers. Its not the cheapest option, but options are starting to become limited. I'm planing on giving them a call to confirm before ordering.
  16. So just had some 17 inch steels tested at Canadian Tire. They tried every 17 and 18 inch steal wheel that is "suppose" to fit according to their system. Every single steal rim would rub on the outside of the caliper. It would clear with regards to diameter but the depth of the rim was the problem. I was told by the installer that a guy he works with had the same problem with his Journey but (he thinks) resolved the problem by contacting the dealership and getting a hub ring to bring the rim out further. Has anyone else had any luck getting 17s to fit around their big calipers ?
  17. I recently ran into an issue with my auto up not working for the drivers power window, but the auto down was working fine. Doing some research a came across an article that helped me resolve the issue. For some reason I "unlearned" my auto up feature somehow. These are the steps I followed to "relearn" the auto up feature. Roll window all the way down Roll window all the way up with button full pulled to second detent When window closes continue to hold up button in second detent for 2-3 seconds Roll window down Test auto feature I think how I disabled the feature by hold the up too long one time when not paying attention to the window while talking to my son. (Don't worry, we were parked at the time. Not driving) Source: http://www.allpar.com/forums/topic/140498-journey-power-window-problem

    Run away car

Glad no one was hurt. Looks like the Kia can handle off road well I do have one question though; Did Kia start hiring people from Toyota?
  19. Interesting, never thought of comparing tires to a knife cutting through snow. I'll throw this out there though. In hard packed snow, the snow that is solid and the plough blade even slides over it. I think in those situations a wider tire would be better. I think the narrow comparison is more for fresh/deep/soft snow, not the hard packed/icy stuff.
  20. I'm glad to have the AWD with our winters, and content to pay the extra price for it. I agree an option for it or not would be better, but I'd rather to "forced" to have AWD over FWD any day. Imagine wanting the R/T and only being able to get it in FWD, if that was the case I would've went for the Caravan instead.
  21. Thanks for the price, might have to give them a look. I always thought wider tires are better in the winter, or any time for that matter. More rubber = more grip. At least thats what I've always thought.
  22. The WeatherTechs are one solid piece for the width of the vehicle, so they do cover more floor than the factory mats and do not have the cut out for the "cooler" latch, but they are flexible enough to allow access to store things. However if you are having a tailgate party or something and plan on using the "coolers" as such for your drinks or need quick access while the vehicle is in motion these mats might cause some annoyance.

    climate control

I noticed this happen to me once this summer on my rear climate system. Might have happened more often, but this particular time I had 6 people (2 per row) with outside temps approaching 40 with the Humidex and the center ceiling vents were blowing hot air for the first few minutes after startup. I wasn't until I started driving that those vents started blowing cold. The strange thing was the back/third row ceiling vents were colder then the center row vents, which indicates to me the air blows from back to front when equipped with the rear climate control system. Well I brought this issue to my dealers attention but the tech couldn't find any problems and infact stated that during his tests my A/C was colder than spec. Well needless to say I haven't noticed the issue since, possibly because the temps hasn't gone quite as high as it did that one particular day when I've had to drive somewhere with passengers in the back. Either way I will be keeping an eye on it, even though I doubt I'll reproduce anything before next summer now.
