  1. My 09 is leaking from that same spot, to repair is about $500.. Probably I'll just top up the fluid...
  2. I went to the stealership and noticed that the DJ / RT had the exact same calipers as the Grand Cherokee.. Those are big brakes!
  3. Good finding! Just out of curiosity I compared the Trailer tow diagram for a 2010 vs. 2013 and no wonder there are so many issues with the new one! The diagram is incomplete.. Thanks for posting
  4. I will take a picture but will give you a heart attack.. Two kids (and usually eating cause I'm always running late).. Imagine the crumbs, used kleenex, and possibly whole crackers, apple cores or something like that rotting LOL!! I bet that send shivers up and down your spine..
  5. Unfortunately other pseudo experts share the road with you.. And like or not we are not lying to you as the director you mentioned. If you have an accident the liabilities will be 100% on you. Your insurance will step aside... Really, we mention this to you cause we are your journey buddies.. nothing else, we're no going to sell you a car. Anyway, drive carefully.
  6. Towing over your capacity is illegal. Forget about the capabilities of the car. Not using brake controller with 2750lbs?? C'mon, at least do it for everyone else on the road.
  7. Both sunshade mirror covers come loose.. Crappy design with pressure hinges that pop out if I open with one hand.
  8. holy crap this worked perfectly on a '09! I tested it and did not like it!! I found myself way too distracted and almost veering off.. I will crash for sure. I'm not going to use it... But anyway, thanks for the advise.
  9. Welcome! I got a '09 too and definitely they are the fastest and better looking ones!
  10. I've seriously thought about it but I'm way too lazy for even trying..
  11. You want to google for gracenotes database. Also you want to read something like this: https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&q=cache:5-KCpXt3dV4J:www.shadowsstation.ch/attachments/File/Chrysler_300c_Manuals/MyGiG/Can_Bus_Infos___MyGig_Versionshinweise.pdf+&hl=en&gl=ca&pid=bl&srcid=ADGEESjK8p2faATs-sidTRXs3uQw5BOoE1FzgOCprCSupUcEFmJeGckRQ_VB47-UCFNaHr_sRAgXo335ohxLIk8QeVSwRHJbbH1BoJ1PTSl0b9dRAFP9kGdql6cMDooccJAqtnw2wYV_&sig=AHIEtbS8DqgEjHoPEpP6GBP2LUyCmICN5A And something like this: http://www.jk-forum.com/jk-electrical-lighting-sound-systems-13/new-mygig-software-update-rer-rew-rep-v2-403-a-226772/ There was was website will all information you needed but is dead and google can't get a cache copy of it, so this sucks cause you'll need to figure out all the pieces.. Good luck! Good luck! Post results please
  12. Yep, here in Calgary the fuel mileage is abysmal but it is the same with any car not just the DJ
  13. Me too, I got a 2009 Journey R/T AWD, definitely the best year and the fastest
  14. AWD on my Journey is fantastic, I replaced a Subaru and this DJ w/all-weather tires is as good or better than the subie.. I truly don't miss it. I'm impressed and I like that is not hyper-sensitive like in the AWD system in the Honda CRV. I can have fun before the AWD saves my bacon.. I'm happy with the AWD system in the DJ
  15. There is an electronic box that gives that as well as rear camera, etc.. It's about $200USD if I remember correctly..
  16. I've heard from other guys at work basically all mini-vans have brake issues.. Honda, Toyota, etc.. Seems like the rotors are just disposable nowadays. From tirerack you can get drilled rotors from stoptech for ~$90. That is not a lot more than the cheapo ones from Dodge.. I'm looking at replacing all 4 this coming season...
  17. those 22" look sweet! Don't you have to upgrade the brakes? Those wheels are big!
  18. Ok maybe not M-B but I disagree that is a Chrysler design, I mean those guys build cars, they don't design those kinds of components... I'm pretty sure the components are ZF or Getrag (Next time I have the DJ on the lift I'll check) and by contract Manufacturers share design, this way they all save millions, they do that all the time with engines and electronics. An example is the transmisson of the DJ (V6 3.6) is http://www.allpar.com/mopar/transmissions/62TE.html Anyway just my opinion..
  19. Please correct me if wrong but I think the AWD from the Journey came from Mercedez (what's called, 4matic or something like that?) Actually, does anyone know if it's the same?
  20. did you service the tranny oil as per the schedule ? (transfer case is share with the tranny IIRC) Anyway, sorry it happened.
  21. Could be as simple as a bad sensor, too early to have any kind of mechanical failure I think..(Unless it was abused) Have you noticed any oil drip on the floor? good luck, and you are one lucky guy by still having warranty on it.
  22. That's not right, reset the Avg mileage cause it takes a while to average down to 13-14l/100km (for me). If you think a Jap or Euro car will save your wallet from getting lighter.. I have news.. you may save some on a 4 banger but the asking price will set you back thousands more.. Do the math.. Squealing brakes can be solved by just applying a coat of anti-squeal grease.. I come from a Euro nice vehicle, they're as thirsty as any other V6
  23. I noticed that too but in my opinion is spot on, I hate when the ESP kicks in immediately.. like my old CRV was a joke, totally oriented for women if you ask me.. I like that feeling of driving the car and when I push too much then the ESP saves me.... so for me is perfect and nothing to fix
