  1. I had a 2009 SXT DJ and that is the one thing I absolutely loved was the ride! We just traded that car in on the 2014 SXT and it rides the same way. The 2014 seems to be a more solidly built car than the 2009. Time will tell.
  2. I did solve the problems by buying winter tires and 17" rims to put them on. I have no problems now. The all seasons would not go up my driveway with an inch of snow on it.
  3. Does anyone know the cost of the new parts? Or I would love to see pictures of the fixes. I think I am missing the pin, I just have a plastic gear on the driver side of the sun glass holder.
  4. I learned that from Subaru. I you get one flat tire and need to replace the tire, If the other tires have half life left, you best buy 4 new tire or the AWD will have a failure. They don't tell you that when buying the car though.
  5. I would get a new tire. With AWD if you have AWD, You need all the tires have the same amount of tread or you will mess it up. Also you could have a blowout and that is not fun!
  6. I will say this again. I had a 2001 Subaru Outback with $50 a piece A/S tires on it and it made it up my drive way with no problems at all. This Journey has to have winter tires put on to do the same. Traction control is worthless, it stops my car coming up my driveway with the A/S tires. I NEVER HAD TO PUT WINTER TIRES ON THE SUBARU, A/S IS ALL WE EVER HAD ON THE SUBARU AND CHEAP ONES AT THAT. I have had this car back to the dealer so many times to look at other issues, and always had them look at the AWD because of the way it goes in the snow. I have a FWD Stratus that will make it farther up my driveway better than the Journey with A/S tires. The winter tires did make it better, but I never had to do that before. Hell I have A/S on my truck and it goes just fine up the driveway in snow.
  7. I am sorry, but I do not like this car. The only things I like is the lifetime powertrain warranty, and the ride. I have had Transmission problems, brake problems, and the engine makes a ticking sound. I came from a 2001 Subaru that had 150,000 miles on it and I felt safer in it than this car. I had to go and spend extra money on winter tires and rims for this car and had to go to aftermarket brakes and rotors also. I just don't understand. I wanted to help an American company by getting a Dodge and I wish I would not have! The extra bells and whistles are what sold my wife and that's how we ended up with this car.
  8. I have had it in the shop for the transmission leaking and told them to check the AWD while they had it. They had to replace lines on the tranny and said the AWD was working. Since the addition of the winter tires is does a lot better in the snow. I am saying all this to let people know my experience with this car. As I have stated many times the Subaru we had went up my driveway with no problems with A/S tires on. I am just really dissapointed with this car as a compairison of AWD systems.
  9. Now that I have winter tires it is alot better in the snow. The traction control feature is useless! Even when I turn it off it still kicks in coming up my driveway and stops the car. I have had the AWD checked and they say everything is fine. As I said before, my old Subaru was a better car even with 150,000 miles on it. I was thinking of helping an American car company when we got the Journey, I will go back to Subaru when we are done with this car!
  10. I ended up getting Centric rotors for about $160 and Posi-quiet ceramic pads and they are working great. Thanks for the reccomendations!

    tires

I have a local tire dealer here that got the stock 19" tire and I got them for $150 each mounted and balanced.
  12. I got about 33,000 miles out of the tires on my Journey and they all looked the same. Very even wear on all, but I did make sure I rotated them myself.
  13. I have a Journey SXT AWD and it is terrible in the snow! My front wheel drive goes farther up my driveway than the AWD Journey! I had a Subaru Outback before this car and regret trading that car in on the Journey. The Subaru had 150,000 miles on it and had far fewer problems. I even had all season radials on the Subaru that look like the tires on the Journey and the Subaru was 100% better in the snow. I had to spend extra money to get wheels and snow tires for my Journey to go in the snow! I like how the Journey rides and that is where it ends for me!
  14. I have had two sets of Napa premium rotors on my Journey and get no more than 3,000 miles out of them. I know alot of people say it's how we drive, but my Subaru before this car went 45,000 on each set of rotors I put on it. I am looking for something that will last a little longer than 3,000 miles!?!?!
  15. Good luck with anything from NAPA! I have had two sets of front rotors from them and they both warp bad at 3,000 miles. Next will be Centric rotors with ceramic for me! I have 34,000 mile on my car.
