You are absolutely right, it can be difficult for your dealer to identify any issues when certain features are working perfectly.
How intermittent is the cruise issue, you can try and book an appointment with service if you can predict when it may happen.

I knew this was too good to be true. Rgwog, you are right. I have completely overlooked the SD card reader.

Not a nav radio.
This is a 4.3 radio. It doesn't have the SD card slot that all 8.4 radios have.

Ok guys I bought a 2013 Dodge Journey with the RE2 radio. Didn't like that it didn't have Nav or uconnect. I googled everywhere and saw that people were having issues with it and that dealers were saying it can't be done on 2013 models.
So I took the chance and found a RB5 at a car junk yard. They had the 2011 and 2012 version. From what I read whatever year radio installed the display would show the colour from that year. 2011 light blue, 2012 dark blue plus anti theft code. My 2013 has a red display and I was fine with getting the 2012 with the dark blue.
Removed the RE2 and installed the RB5, powered it up and to my surprise the screen was red. But I needed the anti-theft code. Called around to dealers and were told that they don't give these things out, that I probably stole to radio etc. Anyways I found one dealer that said to bring the radio in with the bill of sale and VIN from the car it came from. Asked if there was a charge and was quoted $50-$100. Took the radio in and 45 minutes had the code and wasn't charged a thing!! Punched the code in and unlocked the radio. Everything worked without having the dealer "flash" my car.
My Garmin maps were outdated back from 2010. Downloaded Garmin 2014.10 maps. Installed with all the extras as well (Junction View)
The only thing I want to do is activate uconnect. I don't have the phone option on my radio. I did have a Dodge Ram before with stock radio, I changed that to the RER and just added the mic and that activated the uconnect. I was wondering if anyone knows an inexpensive option to do this? Without having to buy the rear view mirror or a new steering wheel? The dealer says I can buy a uconnect button thingy part #82213152 buts its $500 and from what I read only works on the 4.3 screen. Also the dealer told me they can add uconnect to my car by flashing it for $600.
Long story short I have a hard time believing anything the dealers tell me.

Just added OEM Nav to my 2013 SXT via head swap. Very easy to do without any problems. Found a 8.4N from a salvage yard, Dealer obtained the anti theft code. I too like the integrated unit without wires, ect.

Back to topic...
You need to change the radio module. Cheapest way is second hand.
Car-parts.com or ebay. You need the RB5 radio module. Nothing else.
Shoot for a 2012 model and you might be able to avoid the theft deterrent feature of the 2013s

I had the same problem in June. Couldn't get the wiring harness to power the 7 pin brake lights properly as the LEDs don't draw enough power. For those reading this thread from the USA, at least in Ontario, if not Canada, all camper/trailers are required to have e-brakes if built beyond a certain year. It is illegal to tow one equipped with the brakes, but not have them connected.
My guy finally got the brake lights to work etc and i had him run a hotwire from the fuse box to the 7 pin to charge the battery in the trailer and to provide power while towing. The only issue i have with the 7 pin connector is that the running lights only come on, and stay on, after pressing the brake pedal. Not a problem so far as i only tow during daylight.
I did have several problems with determining if my journey was even equipped with the tow prep package (turned out it wasn't based on the VIN), but the dealer showed me physically and on the build sheet that my Crew has the oil cooler, tranny cooler and power steering cooler installed. and assured me i was good for the 3500 lbs. I purchased the wiring harness for $113 from the dealer and also was not pleased to have to do this.

Got the Journey back today! Everything looks great, and I was surprised with getting it back early too! It was originally supposed to be finished this coming up Thursday, but got the call this morning that it was ready. I was so glad to drop that freakin' 2013 Chevy Captiva back off at Enterprise!!! Haha.

This past weekend I was in Windsor/Detroit and when I left filled
up and had the best mpg to date.
The winds at our back cruising non stop the evic read out
7.3 liters/100km.(32 mpg US)
When I filled up reset evic it read 59 L/100km 728 km DTE
by the time Ihad driven 33 km on the 401 xpway on cruise
at 104 km/hr (65 mph).
Summer gas+lightfoot+windage may account for it but I am happy.
