  1. I think it depends alot on the region you are in as well as the options, and also what model they are currently running production on. Mine arrived today, along with 2 stock Journeys. One is Red SXT and the other is a red R/T Rick.
  2. If you have a portable nav system already, the only disadvantage is that the front DVD display will be in front of the shifter, and as mentioned it would be a touch screen. If you get the Nav option, the display gets moved up to the top of the console where the storage compartment is. With the safe and sound group the back up camera will display on the screen as well. Rick.
  3. I think 3M has a protectant you can put on it before it gets soiled, but I think it is very specific to certain types of leather. What type of leather is in the Journey??
  4. IT HAS ARRIVED!!!!!!!!!!! I drove past the dealer this morning, and it was being offloaded from the truck!!!!!!!!!!!! I stopped in at the dealership after work, and finalized everything, and will be picking it up tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe my wife will let me drive it???????? One more sleep......... Rick.
  5. I picked up an OBDII reader a while ago for my other vehicles, and any time the engine light cam on, I read the code before taking it in for service. That way if it happens again, or someone else has the same issue, then I knew exactly what part the dealer had to replace. I plan on doing the same with the Journey. (Of course I hope I never see the light come on)!!! For just over $100 they are well worth having, and also if you are on a trip, and have a code, it will give you an idea how serious the problem is. It is just a small handheld device that plugs in under the dash of any vehicle 1996 or newer, domestic or import. Small enough to leave in the glovebox when travelling. Rick.
  6. Way to go, did you download the MyGig manual, or was there a paper one supplied with it? I have the PDF files for both the owners manual and MyGig...................Seeing as I don't have mine yet..... Rick.
  7. Great job Lurch, keep u sposted on anything else you come up with!! Rick.
  8. What was the problem?? I also have the DVD and NAV option, and it would be good to know how to make the adjustment. Thanks, Rick.
  9. I have been fortunate enough to have a good salesman, and he has always been willing to check into the status of my order. Other than the dealer, I don't know of any other way to get the status. Rick.
  10. I would try posting this question on the NAV-TV forum. I believe it is NAV-TV.com. They have an excellent forum, and they are the OEM supplier of the unit. Rick.
  11. Did you by chance get the vehicle undercoated? This may be the cause of it as well. Rick.
  12. I would have liked to get the R/T, but I am not too fond of leather seats. I guess not being able to change some "key" options on the higher models makes them stand above the rest, but they should have allowed more variation on the SXT. Just my thought. Rick.
  13. AHHHH Myrtle Beach....I remember many years ago after graduating from College, going there to blow off some steam!!! Although I agree with Keith, There was a large group of us, all in rather large fuel guzzling pick-up trucks driving from Ontario to S.C. I guess times have changed. Gower, why was the rad not installed on the vehicle? Make sure that there were no other "parts" missing, or fluids drained. Rick.
  14. Hey NiceTrip, I don't have the phone numner handy, but it only works in the U.S., and you would need your VIN and VON to get the status. If I come across the number I will post. Rick.
  15. When I was at the dealership last night, I saw a Nitro on the lot with 20" wheels!! I didn't even know that they had that option. As far as price here in Canada, I don't think they have the rebate on the Nitro either. he Journey here doesn't have a rebate, or a discount fuel bonus. Rick.
  16. Thanks Keith, it hasn't arrived yet, but it should be here any day now. ........................................ Rick.
  17. Welcome to the forum, what model/options are you looking at getting? Rick.
  18. Good for you, I stoped in to my dealer today, but it had not arrived yet. The computer says that it hasn't been loaded on the truck yet. Oh well, this week is crazy busy and I am shingling my roof this weekend, so it is better that I wait until next week!! Don't forget to post pictures!! Rick.
  19. I agree with the ability to power the camera by a switch, but there is a product called "AllGig" from Nav-TV for about 2-3 hundred. It allows Nav access in motion, as well as unlocking all other features and will allow the rear camera to operate from the main screen. Rick.
  20. Welcome to the group, also I think that is the first time I have heard "salescritter"!! Luckily I don't need to use it. The cargo shade only comes if you do not get the 3rd row seats as far as I know. I will verify this and let you know. Rick.
  21. Hang in there Rob, we're behind you. Make sure you get a little something "extra" when you finally get it. Keep us posted. Rick.
  22. crh47, I have a question about the mini computer that comes with the SXT. I know on the R/T you get the EVIC, but does the mini computer also display MPG? What else will it display? The EVIC shows each tire pressure, but what does the mini computer show? I know, so many questions, so long to wait to see for myself!!!!!! Thanks, Rick.
  23. Welcome to the group, that is the same model/colour as I bought. It should be in this week. Could you post a picture or two for everyone to see? What options does your Journey have? Thanks, Rick.
  24. Xphyle, I do not have my Journey yet, it should be at the dealership May 20th. As for the Nav maps, the navigation units don't sit on a shelf at the factory for any length of time. Because of the supply and demand issues for them I think you will have the latest version. Hopefully this week if ours actually shows up I will look into it some more and determine how to "adjust" some of the features, and we can compare versions on this forum. Rick.
  25. Jay, I had a look on the Dodge site quickly, and the best towing capacity for the Nitro is 2000 Lbs, while the Journey SXT AWD is rated for 3500Lbs with the trailer prep package. I know the manufacturers "enhance" the trailer ratings but as far as warranty issues, the Journey will tow more weight. On the topic of the Liberty, as I had mentioned awhile back I was actually going to buy a Liberty but my wife said it wasn't large enough for us. That's when we saw the Journey, and here I am!!! Rick.
