  1. Just changed the oil on my Journey after the computer told me to do so. 3400 miles. So how the F do you reset the warning? I've tried the method in the owners manual: 1. Turn key in ignition to "On" without starting the car... 2. Depress accelerator fully 3 times within 10 seconds 3. Turn key in ignition to "LOCK". Did this like 10 freakin times to no avail. Computer kept giving me the "Oil Change Required" each time I started the car. What am I doing wrong? Anyone? Thanks! Xphyle

    First problem

Oh for CRYING OUT LOUD! I put 1000 highway miles on my Journey last week and had to listien to this F#$KING vibration sound the entire way. I couldn't get it to stop but I think I might have pinpointed the problem Just under the windshield wipers, there is a piece of black plastic that runs the width of the hood. It's like a strainer that keeps debris from getting down into the engine compartment. It's held in place by 4 plastic pegs that cannot bet tightened. They don't hold the strainer piece tightly and I think once you hit 55 and up MPH, the thing starts to vibrate. IT'S SOOO ANNOYING. Xphyle
  3. Add me to the 21 MPG club highway. Just took put about 1000 miles on the Journey over the last week. Drove from CT to OH and then once in Columbus, OH, I drove up to Cleveland 2 times. I'm calculating MPG based on Gallons used/miles driven. I'm averaging 70 to 75 MPH using cruise control. On a sad note, back up in CT during city driving, I was averaging 13.5 MPG. Lots of hills and lots of stop and go. Xphyle
  4. Man. This is crazy. This MyGig system needs a serious firmware update. It's got a lot of bugs. As I reported earlier, the thing rarely displays song titles when playing correctly tagged mp3s off the hard drive. In addition, sometimes when I'm playing a movie and shut the car off, then come back and turn it on, it will resume the movie right where it left off. Other times, it will start the movie from the beginning. This is kind of a pain in the arse when my kids are in the middle of a movie. Lastly, and this is kinda crazy, when listening to mp3s off the hard drive, I've had the mygig change tracks TWICE NOW when making a hard left turn! Probably has something to do with steering wheel controls? Not sure, but crazy nonetheless. OH, one last thing. I tried the wireless headphones out with the rear dvd system today for the first time and both headphones were pretty quiet, even with the volume wheel set to maximum. Anyone else notice this? Xphyle
  5. Well, my passenger side pillar support molding was hanging OFF at the top where the pillar meets the headliner. I tried to pop it back on, as I could see where it snapped together, but the male snap was noticeably misshapen so I took it back to the parts shop at my dealer and the parts manager had to order new clips for it. I just got a call that they were in, so I gotta head back over there and get that replaced/fixed. Apparently the pillar support airbags are under there and the moldings need to release easy for the airbags to deploy. Course they are not supposed to DANGLE! Xphyle
  6. So I haven't quite figured this bug out, but I've got about 500 songs (MP3s) loaded onto the MyGIG HDD. All the songs have correct ID3 tags. Sometimes when I start the car and and it starts playing my mp3's, it'll display the song title and artist. Most of the time, it won't display the song title or artist. Sometimes when I start the car, it will show the current song title that is playing but when the song ends and the next one begins the title won't update to the current song, it stays on the first song. I've tried adding every song to a custom playlist and playing that playlist to see if it displays song titles correctly, but that doesn't work. The only thing I can do to make it correctly display the song titles it to start the car, go into the setup menu and sort by song title, then pick one and start playing it, and then go back into the menu and tell it to play random. Then it will display song titles correctly. HOWEVER, if I shut off the car and then turn it back on, it will not display song titles again. Can anyone shed some light? How do you get the system to display song titles correctly and consistently? Xphyle
  7. So I'm out washing and waxing my new black AWD R/T, and while cleaning the rims, it seems to me like these high end rims are made out of some type of cheapo plastic material. I mean, it seems like the cheap plastic covers you can buy at any Walmart. Maybe I need to take another look but anyone else notice? Also, while washing, it seems like the entire rear bumper is really flimsy plastic as well, as it easily bent inward as I used my sponge to wash it. Minor quibbles, but quibbles nonetheless. Xphyle
  8. Congrats Rick! You're gonna love it. Ride is sooo quiet and SMOOTH! Xphyle
  9. Hmmm. What's a Phoenix engine? What makes it special? Xphyle
  10. Got a new Journey with leather and would like to keep it clean and beautiful. Anyone have any druthers when it comes to leather cleaner/protectant? Thanks! Xphyle
  11. I've got the nav system. Told my salesperson that I wasn't going to buy one without it and she had to go 500 miles out to locate one. They had one on the lot with everything I wanted minus the nav system but I thought the placement of the system was asinine. If you are trying use GPS, the last thing you want to do is take your eyes off the road and look DOWN to read the maps. I held out for the nav system and I have NO REGRETS. In addition, I've got the roof mounted DVD system, and I can watch movies on the NAV screen without having to look down at the floor. Keep in mind though, you give up the touchscreen if you get the Nav system. Xphyle
  12. Hey all. While nosing around for information on the MyGIG player we all have in our Journeys, I stumbled upon this site: http://mofv.com/mygig/ It hosts software/firmware updates for every MyGIG system in existence. It also contains up to date GRACENOTE databases for the MyGIG system. There is a section for the Journey MyGig system, but as of yet there is not software/firmware for it. It does say it will be up shortly though. There is, however, an update for the GRACENOTE music database used when ripping CD's to your hard drive. Neither I, nor this forum, are affiliated with the above site. So be cautious when updating your MyGig, as there is always the possibility you could brick it. However, the nice thing aobut the site listed above is that it shows step by step PICTURES of what to do and what you will see on the MyGIG screen during each step of the update process. Good Luck, Xphyle
  13. Hey Rick, I have the manual, but I found this site yesterday while researching for the answer to my problem. They host firmware/software updates for ALL the myGIG systems out there and the site seems really great. There's a spot for the Journey MyGIG system software, but there's nothing there yet. But you can also get updates for the GRACENOTES database there. Awesome. Here's the link. Maybe a mod could sticky this info: http://mofv.com/mygig/ Xphyle
  14. Very cool, Rick. If you find a good price for one online, please post a link. Also, maybe you could post pics to show exactly where the bugger plugs in on the Journey. Xphyle
  15. Hey Rick, I went through all the menus a half dozen times today and couldn't find squat, then like on the 7th time through the menu, hours later, I noticed that the adjustment was one notch off of the bottom of the screen. For example if the screen can hold 6 options from top to bottom, the DVD setup button was the 7th one, and was actually there but off of the bottom of the screen and I didn't realize I had to scroll down past what I thought was the bottom one and found a menu called "DVD SETUP". Soon as I clicked it, BOOM, there it was: DVD BRIGHTNESS. It was set at about 25% and I jacked it up and now it's FANTASTIC. Lovin the Journey so far. Xphyle
