Thanks for the clarification. I am sure others that come across this thread will appreciate knowing exactly how it works.

You never can tell, maybe in future years they could become standard, but have not as of yet on all trim levels.
-
The Crew and the R/T's are the only 2 models that was a standard feature on in the United States.

Sorry that it will not allow each to be set separately. Glad you figured out how it works though.

Don`t be fooled by the 2500 lbs max tow capacity
DodgeCares replied to InVIcTuS's topic in Hauling & Towing
So let's recap this thread. You blame Dodge for lowering the tow ratings on the Journey after a redesign. Don't really seem to be too upset with dealer in first post, just Dodge's fault. Then the dealer is blamed for lying to make a sale. Also, false advertising is alleged when nowhere is it advertised or printed by Dodge that the tow weight is anything other than 2,500 pounds. Lastly, it is clear that you know what the tow rating of your vehicle is at this time and you will choose to ignore it. Seems to me you started this thread to boast you tow more than what the vehicle is designed for, as even the thread title indicates as much. Now it's all American car manufacturers are struggling because they are deceiving their customers. I find that ironic, considering you started this thread to deceive people that they could tow more because you did it. -
According to what it looks like to me, pushing button 31 (from my posted pic) is supposed to change the display which is 32, and bring up setting or units and should allow you to change it there. I am having a hard time confirming the exact sequence though. I would try pushing the button until you get to the one you want to change then push and hold in until it changes. Or push and hold it in until it changes and then push it without holding until it changes it to what you want. I am sorry for not being more exact but I do not have access to the manuals for the vehicles over there. I normally don't try and answer these types of questions when I am not sure but I figure its worth a shot since it sounds like you cannot get the answer anywhere else.

Shield, Do you have an EVIC on your Journey? If so, under Units In, press and hold the reset button until it changes. If you do not have an EVIC, PM me your vin and I will see what I can find out further if the overhead console doesn't work out.

Found a European service manual and it says the temp display on the climate control can be switched between Fahrenheit and Celsius. It states it is changed via the overhead console. Unfortunately, I could not find how to do it in the overhead console. Perhaps if you look in your owners manual under the overhead console directions that it will be in there as I do not have access to manuals from outside North America. Is there a temp gauge in your overhead console? If so, I would check for buttons to change it.

Agree. The strap must be pulled in an upward direction for the release to work.

poor boy sweats in rear seat we freeze in the front

No real solution I can think of here other than to try having the air blow out through the defrost vents with the recirculation button activated. That may blow the cool air over your head and to the back more so you will not be so cool that you cannot turn the fan on high. It still may not be enough though, as it sounds like dual zone cooling is what you really need. -
Did you figure it out?

Don`t be fooled by the 2500 lbs max tow capacity
DodgeCares replied to InVIcTuS's topic in Hauling & Towing
You all make good points here and I hope for your safety and the safety of others that everyone follows what is in the owners manual and not what a salesman at a dealership or what some posting on the internet suggests. -
Don`t be fooled by the 2500 lbs max tow capacity
DodgeCares replied to InVIcTuS's topic in Hauling & Towing
Many things can impact tow ratings such as suspension, tire size, gearing, tuning, wheel base, vehicle weight, etc... When changes occur, such as the redesign of the Journey for 2011, the tow rating can be impacted. You cannot simply look at horsepower ratings and determine the tow rating. Towing over the manufacturer recommendations can lead to premature component failure and can result in unsafe control of the vehicle. Dodge would love to say that the Journey can tow many more thousands of pounds and use it in their marketing campaign but Dodge creates the rating it does after countless hours of testing so the vehicle will last as long as possible even when a customer tows often and for the safety of the passengers and the other drivers on the road. Not to mention getting your warranty claims rejected when the trans fluid fails because it overheated. If anyone at the dealership told you that you could disregard the owners manual they are wrong. -

Dirc, If you are looking for Mopar (factory) part numbers, I can help you with that. I just need you to PM me your vin and what parts you are looking for and I can provide the part numbers for you. If you are looking for non-Dodge (factory) parts, perhaps some other members will reply with that information.

Crystall, You really need to find out how much the trailer weighs to know for sure if you can tow that trailer safely. Perhaps even searching the internet with the model number of the trailer will be able to get you that information.

I agree with taking it back to the dealership as it should not have any shudder issues on a brand new vehicle.

Congrats on your new Journey's!!!

Journey won't start. Stranded in Michigan
DodgeCares replied to fmjcafe's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
I hope the issue is finally resolved for you. I couldn't agree more with your post. While many times issues seem to be the same because they have the same symptoms, often the fix can be very different. Having been out on these boards for almost 2 years now I can tell you many times people replace things based on what has fixed other vehicles only to find out they did not have the same problem, only the same symptoms.
