  1. I was looking at the Edge and Journey. The Ford Edge equipped the same as the Journey Lux cost a whole lot more and I couldn't be happier with the 2011 Journey. Having said that, I only have 900 miles on the Journey. I will wait to make a judgement when it hits 30,000 miles. Any car looks and feels good with 900 miles on it.

    tires

The 245/50/19 has a diameter of 28.6 inches vs. 29.2 inches on the 235/55/19. The sidewall on the 245 is 4.8 inches vs 5.1 inches on the 235. If you are going 60 mph with the 235 tire you will only be going 58.9mph with the 245.

others on the forum have said that the 235/55/19 works. I looked at my 2011 front wheel well and there isn't much room to go higher or wider. Very close clearance to the suspension. With the 235 you will be going 60.9 mph when your speedometer reads 60 mph. It is 2/10th of an inch taller.
  4. Oh well, keep digging you will find the answer.
  5. Most of the complaints I see on here are for 2009-2010 Journeys. No noise problems with my 2011. How about other 2011 owners?
  6. I wonder if this could be the problem: ETTING STARTED NOTE: The ignition switch must be in the ON or ACC position to operate the radio. If the unit is OFF, switch it ON by pushing the ON/OFF VOLUME rotary knob. Change the Language The radio will conform to the vehicle language set in the ELECTRONIC VEHICLE INFORMATION CENTER (EVIC), if equipped. If you change the language in the radio, the vehicle will change the language for all display information. Refer to the vehicles Owner’s Manual. To change the language with the radio: 1. Press the MENU hard-key on the right side of the radio. 2. Then press the System Setup soft-key to get to the System Setup menu. 3. Press the Language soft-key and select a language. Set the Time 1. Press the Time soft-key in the lower left corner of the screen.
  7. Mine started squealing when I back down my steep driveway. They don't do it going forward. Once the car(brakes) are warm they won't do it. The car has 500 miles on it.
  8. Are the map lights LEDs on the 2009 models. If so they shouldn't be going out this soon. Sounds more like a loose connection. Both of these problems sound like relatively easy fixes that won't cost too much. Of course nothing is cheap at the dealership. Good luck.
  9. Amen to all the gadgets! Just glad you finally got your Journey. That was quite a wait.
  10. I agree with Saskguy. Air cleaners need to be changed at 10,000 mile intervals if dirty. Injectors about every 30,000 to 40,000 miles. Check your owners manual and see what it says about service intervals. I do change the oil every 4000-5000 miles and that is using Mobil 1 synthetic. It probably is good for 10,000-15,000 between oil changes but I like to keep the oil clean. Sounds like those "included" oil changes are going to cost you a lot of bucks.
  11. Yes I noticed since I ordered the old style and got the new style. As it turns out, I like it.

    bumper protector?

I see they have one for the 2011 models. It is silver, similar to the front lower bumper, rather than black. Not sure it looks that good.
  13. I agree with the above. I might be getting "real" old but it is a car radio. If you want premium sound, stay home and listen to your sound system/entertainment center.
  14. So what about this: "Despite the four variants of the 3.6 already being sold — rear drive (290 hp), AWD (292 hp), FWD (283 hp), and Challenger (305 hp), there are just two head designs, two intake manifolds, and one set of internal components, including cam and pistons, according to an SAE article by Paul Weissler. The Challenger's 13 horsepower increase is due to "a more aggressively designed intake air system" which increased airflow from 214 to 220 g/s." And the referenced article written by Paul Weissler can be found here. I have a 2011 AWD so is it 283 or 292?
  15. So does the 2011 Journey AWD have 283 or 292 HP
  16. Welcome from another Okie. Enjoy your new Journey.
  17. Have had my 2011 Journey now for three weeks and am loving it. I read somewhere that the 3.6 AWD has 292HP as opposed to the 283. Is that right or wrong?
  18. Hope you have good luck with your new Journey. Keep us posted .

    R/T Model

Welcome! Red and Black interior sounds really nice for the R/T. Get some pics up when you can.
  20. Which Magnaflows did you get. I am interested in getting a bit more sound but not much.
  21. I agree. The bottom of the front fascia should have been color matched on all Journeys. Looks much better than the silver.
  22. My Ram 1500 does that when it is cold weather. Haven't noticed it on the Journey yet but then it is Spring here in Oklahoma. Supposed to be 90 degrees today. LOL
  23. I noticed the first time today and it appeared without doing anything . I didn't notice if it was just close to a turn or not.
