  1. Now don't quote me on this cause this has come from the "older" mopar factory amps. I haven't seen any pinouts for the 4.3/8.4 setups yet. BUT if you can verify the connector/pins maybe with a meter before you go splicing anything. IMO, I don't like using LOC's because they cause a lot of clip and don't give the cleanest signals to amps. There are 2 plugs that come out of the "alpine" amp (even though it says Chrysler right on it) One is a 22 pin white plug and the other is a 16 pin black plug. On the 22 pin connector left to right / top to bottom pin 1 large black wire with orange stripe (assumed ground for the amp) pin 2 white with gray stripe (bus input) pin 3 white with orange stripe (bus input) pin 4 not used pin 5 not used pin 6 green with blue stripe (bus input) pin 7 green with orange stripe (bus input) pin 8 gray with blue stripe (bus input) pin 9 gray with orange stripe (bus input) pin 10 not used pin 11 not used pin 12 not used pin 13 not used pin 14 gray with light green stripe (RH dash speaker +) pin 15 gray with dark green stripe (RH dash speaker -) pin 16 gray with yellow stripe (LH dash speaker +) pin 17 gray with no stripe (LH dash speaker -) pin 18 green with brown stripe (LH headliner speaker -) pin 19 green with blue stripe (LH headliner speaker +) pin 20 gray with white stripe (sub -) pin 21 green with white stripe (sub +) pin 22 large yellow wire with red stripe (assumed power for the amp)
  2. Bizzcut First off look down at the lower right hand corner of your unit and fine the three letter code. I'm thinking yours is RER unless outside the US. Visit mofv.com and you can find all the updates and "how to" for installing them. Also you can find whether or not your radio will stream via BT. Not sure it will but there are apple compatibility for all mygig radios. Help that helps. Omar
  3. You could have one of the many systems with bad hard drives. Check mofv.com which is a site/forum dedicated to mygig systems. They have a software hard drive fix. Try that, hope it helps. Omar
  4. Terry Thanks for the reply. I already learned what I needed to know about the REU. I wanted to swap my REN for the REU for the 6 disk changer, but I found out that I can't control an Ipod with the REU. Now I have to decide which is more important, Ipod control or getting rid of the stash of barbie and strawbery short cake DVD boxes all over my car. (I have two girls that love the VES) Omar
  5. IMO you can get one just as cheap in a retail store as you can online. Atleast in the states, especially if you're just getting the kind you described.
  6. This is the best I could come up with searching the forum Hope if helps.
  7. I have heard that if you disconnect and reconnect the battery WITHOUT removing the radio fuse it can damage the unit. I would check this site www.mofv.com for more on units.
  8. Bram is right, this is an issue with the radio or antenna, not the amplifier. Pretty sweet you got a new amp anyway. I would push them to replace the radio if this persists. This is something I've not heard of yet.
  9. It sounds like you may have an issue with the radio itself. I would go to the dealer and maybe have them swap and test. That sucks bro.
  10. Todd would love to see pics of all the mods you've done! I'm trying to find my own chrome limit and this thread has helped alot. Thanks Windancer
  11. Windance This off topic, but do you have the REU mygig in your 2010? If so I'd like to ask you a few questions about it. Omar
  12. I use this site for part numbers. Hasn't steered me wrong yet. http://dodgeparts.mopar.com/dodge/journey-parts.html
  13. I agree, I would take the switch out and see if power is getting across. If not here is the part number for that switch, actually you have to buy the ENTIRE overhead console. That kinda sucks, anyway here is ONE part number 1MT681W1AA PLEASE PM DodgeCares to verify this is the proper number for your VIN. .
  14. Nice! Can't wait to see how it works for you. Will definitely be waiting on pics!
  15. The 8.5" max is a good guide line to follow. When shoping for wheels remember the Journey's bolt pattern is 5x127 and the offset should be between 33 and 45mm. Plus here is a linkto coolram's post here with a pick of his 2011 with 18" american racing wheels installed And if you wanna go all out here is a link to a thread where a member put 22's on his journey Hope this helps, goodluck. Omar
  16. That will be interesting to see Armendegga! I was initially worried that the epoxy would make too rigid of a seal and vibration may crack the panel, but hopefully that won't happen.
  17. Nope, it's an issue quite a few of us deal with. Although, just bought an 09 SXT and it doesn't have the issue, go figure.
  18. Looks slick bamboo!! Like the black matte on the white! Welcome and hot DJ. Omar
  19. You might wanna contact coastaletech.com and see if the lockpick c8 has the ability to give you video outputs for headrests or fold down aftermarket screens. That's all I can think of right now. Omar
  20. Welcome Doozermonkey! 1) Yes this seems to be more common than not on the 2011's (and some 09's & 10's). The squeaking sound doesn't really indicate a problem and should subside. Make sure you're getting scheduled maintenance done so if they wear prematurely (also somewhat common) you have get it fixed under warranty. 2) I have noticed the hard shifting on my 2009. It does depend on your driving style. Maybe you're a bit heavier on the gas being used to the 4 banger, but that's not completely it. Does the hard shift happen with slow and fast take offs? Test it out, SLOWLY take off from a stop light and see if the "bump" is less evident or the same. Either way, again, I don't think it's evidence of a pending mechanical issue. Keep up on your maintenance and all will be fine. 100k powertrain warranty. Welcome to the family again. Journey Mom Omar
  21. I had to read it a couple of times, but I think I got what you're saying, Thanks that sounds a lot easier than other explainations. Again, thanks and great looking DJ. Omar
  22. That's what I'm waiting to hear about!!! The 2011 bumper swap, that is!
  23. Looks awesome Rob!! Nice work. About your typhoon intake, is that made for the journey or I've heard some guys using the avenger intake fitting it to a journey. Thanks again for the pics, ride looks sweet! Omar
  24. I believe the sirius reciever is built-in, again not as knowledgable on new 4.3/8.4 radios. If you get brave you can pull it out and see if sirius antenna is plugged directly into the unit. I know with the older mygig's the sirius tuner is built-in.
  25. Well fret not my friend DodgeCares is on the case now so he'll get you what you want to know. Speaking of DC (Chris B.), can you tell me what kind of hardware would be needed for me to put a model REU mygig in my 2009(that has REN currently)? I know I'll need the screen and dash cowl, but what about connection harnesses and other possible hardware? There is so little info on that model anywhere. I posted a thread hoping you would chime. Thanks Omar
