  1. Sergio Much thanks for the info, knowing it's a direct fit will be good news to a lot of us and the part numbers are just the icing on the cake!! Omar
  2. That's so true! The fact that you have a 6 speaker system kinda points to having an external amplifier from what I've learned. Most headunits will only handle 4, but the 4.3/8.4 are so different than it's Mygig predecessors. Oh something else I've heard that the amps on the 2011's are under the passenger seat so that's a place to check. Hopefully someone who is more versed in the 2011 models will chime in soon. Omar
  3. I would try to PM DodgeCares with your VIN and see if you have anything other than base entertainment group. I'm not that knowledgable about the 2011's but if it mirrors older models then you would either have the top tier audio with company logo (infinity, alpine, etc) or you have mid tier that comes with rear VES that was also amplified. Do you have a sub woofer? Check the rear driver side panel and see if you have a sub woofer, that's normally a clear sign of amplified or not. Hope that helps. Omar
  4. Max that looks awesome and thanks for the info!! Can you include the part number you used to purchase the grille? Was it a set or did you have to purchase each separately? Thanks Omar
  5. They do look pretty slick! I so want some just gotta decide on a brand. Thanks for the pics. Omar
  6. Nice work! I like the chrome accents and thanks for the pics Omar
  7. Hey Forum I would like to swap my REN mygig for the REU model. A bit of back story, the first DJ I test drove (and would've bought except neeed 7 seater) had the REU with separate screen and nav and I loved it. But since it didn't fit what I wanted I chose another with the REN because it was 7 seat, leather and VES. Now with all of the research I've done, I really want the REU. Can this be done and what "extra" equipment will I need beyond the unit and screen? From what I can tell, the dash is exactly the same you just swap the dash storage compartment for the screen and holder. Please correct me if I'm wrong, cause I've found the screen and unit. Pretty pricey, but worth it in my opinion. Thanks, oh, I have a 2009 R/T if that makes a difference. Omar
  8. GM Very nice work, super clean! Thanks for the pics. They really do help the next person who wants to follow in your foot steps. Omar
  9. Sounds great GM, but where are the pics? Gotta have some pics bro?!?!?! I'm just saying :poke: Omar
  10. I know this is an old thread, but did you find what you needed to make your REU work?
  11. Welcome to the Forum Kyle! I hope you didn't promise the wife you wouldn't mod this car cause there are plenty out there, more appearance and A/V, but they are there. Anyway, welcome and where bouts outside STL, I grew up there? Omar
  12. Well that makes life a bit easier. You'll need THIS connector for your choice of head unit. The ones I've seen the most buzz about are the Pioneer and the Alpine. NOW, I don't think navigation is a plug and play kinda thing. Navigarion units need a VSS (vehicle speed sensor) input from the car. There is a lot of debate and down home enginuity going on to solve that issue because of the CAN bus in these and similar DCJ vehicles, but the PAC-audio radion replacement harness is supposed to solve that issue. Is this a great alternative to MyGig??? That is up to you. If you plan to add aftermarket amps, speakers and subs then yes in the long term. If not, I would search for a MyGig model RER and factory navigation antenna and Bob's your uncle there you go. But it's ultimately up to you. I hope this was helpful and you can make the right choice for you. Omar
  13. First off we'll need more info about your Journey. Do you have infinity sound system or no? Because that will increase the installation difficulty and price, but THIS is a popular model for in-dash DVD, Nav, BT and sattelite radio. NOTE: IF you have an infinity, amplified system you will need to purchase a bypass module for about $130. All is explained on the site.
  14. I get what you're saying for sure. I hope you find what you're looking for and I'll help out if I can. Omar
  15. Richard Are you talking about something like a bra? Click the link to see if thats what you need. I'm assuming you're not talking about the hood deflectors cause those are everywhere. Omar
  16. Welcome ODIMUS There are some things you should know about MyGig radios. Most will work in your SE AS LONG as they are the same bus speed! Some Chrysler/Dodge vehicles have a low data bus and some (journey's) have high data bus speed. SO, the MyGig you buy will have to be high speed data bus. After that it's pretty much plug and play, UNLESS you purchase a model with navigation. In that case you will need the factory navigation antenna. Here check out this link, this site has a lot of good info about MyGig systems. Hope this helps Omar
  17. b1pig Thanks for the response brutha! I think I'm gonna get those speakers ordered as soon as I put the cash together! Oh and thanks for adding the part about the sub replacement, I've been wondering that since I found out my Journey had one. I got an old sony 10" sub collecting dust in my garage that's gotta sound a bit better than the infinity labeled crap that's back there. Thanks again for the response, and check out the NitroforumZ for more info on system upgrades. Omar
  18. How goes it Forum Folks? I have an 09 Journey R/T Brilliant Black, Mygig REN, Infinity system w/subwoofer and VES. I'm wanting to improve my overall sound as other, more invasive, options for audio are researched. I've been reading on another forum about the mopar kicker speakers. I've read they make an amazing difference in sound quality with or w/o the infinity amplified system. From what I've learned they have 6.5 compenents, 77KICKER15 and 2way 6.5's 77KICKER10. Has anyone considered these as an option and what do you think? Omar
  19. brwengel Where did you get your deflector? Because was a concern of mine, that everyone I saw, stopped at the edge of the hood. Thanks for the post and info!
