  1. check out ebay, search for dodge journey antenna there. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dodge-3-inch-76mm-100-Carbon-Fiber-Black-Mini-Universal-Fit-Antenna-La8-/300702931645?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3ADodge%7CModel%3AJourney&hash=item46034a9abd&vxp=mtr#ht_3091wt_952
  2. well, updating my situation. Like I mentioned before, replaced my front brakes with the powerstop kit, ceramic pads and all. I also purchased some ceramic pads for the rear also. Now, only about 2 weeks after the install, about every fourth time I stop it makes a heavy scrubbing/grinding sound. Not like metal to metal, but like the pads are trying to lock onto the rotor. I have replaces brakes before on several cars, my uncle is a mechanic by trade and I am no noob to the brakes. NOTE, if you change your brakes, you will need to use either needle nose pliers or a special tool from the parts house to Thread bad in the piston on the rear brakes, do NOT use a C clamp as it will cause damage in most cases. I am going to take the truck over to a trusted local brake shop and have them ride with me the next chance I get. I will post again after this happens.
  3. I want to put some illuminated door sills in my DJ. I have seen some for SRT and RAM, and some others that may work. I have not seen any that say Journey or Mopar. So I need to know if the door sills from a charger or ram truck will fit the dodge journey as these seem to be my only option. Here is a link to a page with some options, though I do not know if any will fit, so if anyone has any input, please let me know, thanks. Link- http://www.thefind.com/cars/info-illuminated-door-sills#page=1&local=0
  4. I apologize for the late response. I must admit that those two links above I have not tried. They were a little out of my price range at the time, if I had a choice I would have chosen link 1 though most likely. Currently I am using this http://www.amazon.com/White-Bulbs-68-SMD-Bright-Lights/dp/B0061S9YJI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333157162&sr=8-1 and I would recommend you to read the reviews as my user name is Network Admin and there is one other on amazon. These bulbs are looking perfect still after 4 months use and no problem with heat. They match my HID lights perfectly .
  5. Just replaced my oem 2010 journey brakes with the kit above. It has been two weeks and I painted the calipers front and rear red as I replaced the rotors and pads. The new rotors work great, though there is a slight noise that comes from the slotted and drilled rotors that was not there with the solid ones, imagine the pads sliding over grooves in the rotor, that is the sound, hard to explain but not very loud. The red calipers looks awsome and I will post some pics soon. I also have installed led lights from Plasmaglow under the sides and wired them into the interior lighting and hey work awsome also. I still have not replaced the rear rotors but will in a couple of months. I would recommend the kit above to stop the shuddering though. Notice though that there is a slight difference in the feel of carbon brakes compared to the normal ones.
  6. I need the torque also, but I do know that I have to spend a buck or 25 on the Hanes manual, sold at autozone. This manual is a god send to the average backyard mechanic like most of us. It will have all the torque specs and much more info that is needed by folks like us. I have had one for every single vehicle I have owned and now have to buy one for this one, I am just short on cash till next payday lol. BTW, the rims 20x8.5 with +35offset and 5x127 bolt pattern is a good fit, that is what I will be getting next year this time or sooner. Check out wheelsnext.com for a descent selection of wheels that will fit the journey, just type in your year and model and the ones selected will fit, but I double check the offset and bolt pattern always just to be safe.
  7. I also would like to get some 20" rims. I have two questions. I know what offset is and have studied greatly the wheel ordeal. I am looking at this wheel. http://www.americanracing.com/wheels/?siteid=1&groupid=29 which has a +30 offset instead of the factory +35, which will bring the wheel 5mm toward the outside of the truck, not noticeable I would not think, but it should give me a tad more room between the brake calipers and the rims and also make a better fit for the 9" rim width. Anyone have a better outlook on this and does anyone have an idea of if the 9" rim is to wide or will scrub or if my idea of this setup will work?
  8. Update: I installed the revers lights. They get great reviews online, but since the 2010 journey tail light has a red band that goes directly across the clear reverse light area, the led lights do not provide as much light as the factory ones do. I still keep them in since they are whiter looking and clean, but you have less light to backup up with it seems. I also must mention that I did have minor flickering with the HID lightss. I had to purchase these http://www.stealthauto.com/Products/Dodge-HID-Flicker-Fix---HID-Capacitors-for-Dodge-Cars-and-Trucks__HID-CAP-DODGE.aspx , and you will need two sets at 35$ each is you replace all four headlights. They are simple to connect as well and will stop the flickering, or at least did for me. I am also installing plasma glow under car lights, white in color and they will be wired to the interior lights. I will post pics as soon as I get all the work done.
  9. Yes, the ones I got for the interior work for maps also. I have not replaced the ones in the visor yet, as leds are so bright that it would most likely blind anyone trying to see themselves in the mirror lol. I replaced the license plate lights with two of those color changing led bulbs from autozone and they work great, looks cool also.
  10. Ok, I have had the chip mentioned above by myself and The Madd Bulldog on my 2010 SXT Journey for over a month now. The check engine light is on constantly, I did have a tech at autozone check it, which was indicated to be a bad IAC, which is wrong as it is the chip causing the error, and he was a friend of mine so he reset the code for me, which is not legal in general. I finalized the results to be an average of about 1.5 -2.5 mpg increase with a slightly noticeable increase in engine response with the chip in place. That is with the chip set in the middle position. Now you can make a choice. Live with the proposed engine check light coming on when high temp changes occur and then have it reset, assuming you know someone or have a code reader yourself; or go without it and not have to worry about trying to explain to the service dept what it is if you are under warranty. We all know that these are just rheostats that change the way the IAS reports the air temp in order to control the amount of fuel and air mixture into the engine, but the dealer, if under warranty, will see it as a way to try to void your warranty if anything related at all to the air/fuel mixture goes wrong, i can assure you. We chose to remove it for now. We may put it back later on, so I am saving it, but I am going to wait a couple of months for sure. Also consider, if you save 2mpg, how long will it take you to pay off 80$ at that rate?
  11. I'm a real 2010 Dodge journey owner. I am not an engine master, but I do know that car companies do NOT want to give you the best most fuel efficient car they can. Government has regulations on every end of the automobile industry and where they leave off, the large automobile companies take over trying to get every dime out of you they can, trust that. Also, no the mention that the oil industries that are worth billions, Do you really think that they are all for the "gas saver"? Go think about that a bit. The device I listed above does work. I have more fuel at the end of the week now than I did before. There is a ying to this yang though..... : I have had the default check engine light on since about a week after I installed it. This was for-warned by Madd Bulldog. Though he said his went off, mine has not. I will be calling the manufacturer of the part tomorrow. I will update this post when I have and answer. I will also not stand here and say that That device will not cause the dealer to "TRY" to void your warranty, though there is a law that says that they must prove that any device installed directly caused something to go wrong with your vehicle before they can void your warranty. I will say that it seems like a worthwhile risk ATM. I may feel differently after I talk with them. Stay tuned for my next post. I have to work like most of everyone else, so if I am late with my response then please forgive me, but I will post asap.
  12. I purchased a hid set. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004ZF35GM/ref=oh_o05_s03_i00_details and these http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001P1WRXG/ref=oh_o06_s00_i00_details which work very nicely, but they do flicker a tad bit every now and again. They are very easy to install and look awsome. I have led fog lights, hid brights and dims and also have led 6w rear backup lights and they all work super nicely. The only thing is that I used a set of putco high watt bulbs for headlights before these and they burned one side of the factory headlight plug, it still works but is loose, so I had to put a piece of wire down in the socket along with the hid plug to make a snug enough fit so they would stay connected. I did see a tiny bit of flicker with the dims on from time to time over the first couple of days, so I purchased this, http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/Error-Code-Eliminator-3-PAIR and It should solve the problems, I will update when I put them on. They are to stop the voltage difference on newer Dodge vehicles and allow the hid's to run properly ie. without flickering.
  13. I purchased the same GTE Performance Chip from performancehiptuning.com Just as MaddBulldog did and on the on the first day we were getting better gas. We normally would get around 15mpg in town and about 19.5-21mpg on the highway... First day of the chip we were in town and no problems at all, and we got about 18mpg, we were amazed. Then third day we went on our weekly road trip, which would normally take about 3/4 of a tank of gas. On the way to our destination, the fuel economy continued to rise, until half way in the day it reached 22mpg, which was nice as it was after we reached our destination and we were in town driving. It stayed there the entire day and when trip was over, we only used just under 1/2 a tank. We were amazed again. Now for the last couple of days we have been in town and it has dropped slowly to 19mpg and is hanging around that. The HP does seem to be a tad better or no change at all. We have the device set to the middle setting. It can be adjusted higher setting for fuel economy or lower setting for HP. We run only premium fuel and every great now and again we add some fuel treatment. Just like MaddDog said in an different review, the engine error light comes on, and checks to be a default code, which can be reset or left alone and it should go away. I would recommend this device to anyone wanting to save gas. It is very small, about the size of a half dollar piece or less and has two wires, it just ties into the air sensor that is on top of your air intake hose on the back of your air filter box. very easy to connect.
  14. Yea, I have some led fog lights installed and they are not quite as bright as some of the hotter (which can and will melt your housing if the move off center at all) halogen fog lights out there, but they are really white and look awsome. They are this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0061S9YJI/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details bulb. I have installed white led interior bulbs front and back and rear door, bulbs are these two,, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00337QD4O/ref=oh_o06_s00_i00_details and http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0047RV8WG/ref=oh_o05_s00_i00_details . I have both high and low beams replaced with hid bulbs, they install easy and work nicely so far, they are the 9005 and 9006 version of kensun, link is here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004ZF35GM/ref=oh_o02_s03_i00_details I am getting the super bright white revers lights also, link here http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006WSDQWS/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details but only use them in your revers lights... if you use the led bulbs in your turn signals or brake lights, then it will not blink normal, as the journey has a bulb warning for the brake and turn signal bulbs, if you need to you can get led bulbs for these that have built in resistors that will bypass the bulb wattage failure sensor, you can find these with some google work. Hope this helps, I love my bright lights, I will warn anyone putting in fog light bulbs that are hotter than 25w.. I used the putco bulbs that fit the h16 socket and they are 35 w bulbs and look great, but twice one bulb would not install perfectly straight and it melted the housing, 40$ for new housing and then you gota get a new bulb also. The problem is that the factory bulbs have notches made for the socket and all after market h16 bulbs have the no rotate tabs on the wrong side, so you have to trim one of them off with a razor blade, which does not affect function, but will make it a little easy for the bulb to not sit smoothly into the socket. Just take your time and it will work, but if it is a tad off, there goes your housing. NO problems with the led's btw.
  15. Very nice looking rims. I plan to put 5 stars chrome on my black 2010 also. I debate greatly on the 20" vs 19" rims. Can you comment on the ride comfort from the stock rims to the 20's? Also can you tell what size your factory rims were? Thanks and again nice look.
