I think the trans cooler is standard, but not positive.  I have one on my 09 R/T, no tow package.  As far as trailer brakes, I thought only required at the 3000 lb area, but again not sure.  There are tons of people towing here, as well as a ton of threads.  I’m sure someone with better knowledge will chime in....

where would that cooler be?  in front of the radiator?

  2. good day guys.  time for another towing question.  i have a 2017 GT.  it does not have the towing package.  im looking at this small overlanding trailer to put a roof top tent on.  the trailer weighs 690lbs dry, the roof top tent weighs 150.  with gear inside the small trailer (300-500lbs) plus a full tank of gas, the human weight and some more gear inside the car im looking just near 2000 lbs total.  id like to go to the dealership and get the tow package installed and possibly a mopar hitch.  the trailer total weight will be at or near 1350 lbs.

my question is should i use a brake controller with this small setup?  what about a trans cooler?  and does anyone know what parts i need from Mopar so i can get them ordered?

    thank you for your help!

The reason I asked is because my hood feels bumpy and even after I had used polish on it

try it. claybar it and see how it looks vs the rest of the front end.  REMEMBER to use  A LOT OF SOLUTION.  NOT WATER!!  go buy some detail spray and keep the area your working on VERY WET AT ALL TIMES

  4. so a friend has a 300c.  my journey is cooler hahaha, anyway he just got these RIPP coil packs

he swears he can tell a significant difference.  i asked him since he put in a CAI at the same time did that help??  he isint sure but is positive it was a worthy investment.

they are horribly priced, i was wondering everyone's thoughts on something like this?

  5. so ive had this journey for 11 months.  i swear to you today is the 1st time ive actually USED the AC.  i have 3700 miles on the car, and today its 101 degrees out.  so i crank it on, set it to 68 degrees, have it set to inside refresh air.

and in the 20 mins it took me to get to my destination..................................the car was MAYBE 5 degrees cooler.

am i doing something wrong?  im 45 and have NEVER been so unimpressed with a cars AC before.  my wife says..........its hot out and the car is a dark color.  our old blue caravan was dark blue and within 3 mins usually we were turning the AC down cause we were all getting too cold.

whats the deal??  anyone have any helpful insight on this damned AC?

  6. so ive seen a lot of those roof top tents on every type of vehicle here in Colorado these past few weeks.  it has gotten me REALLY interested.............does anyone on here have one?  they arent too heavy, but when the car is parked and tent is up the tent itself will hold 600 lbs.  me and the wife arent that much so im good there, but how do i find out if the journey roof rack will hold us plus the tent weight?  ive actually seen a lot of subarus with these tents, i figure they cant be too much better than the journey in terms of weight up there.......

anyway who if anyone has one??  what do you think?

LOLOL.....I have not yet tried (lack of trust maybe?) that site yet. Maybe it's the really bad Chinese to English translations....

i can vouch for aliexpress....as long as you sort items by seller as in better sellers first you wont have a problem.  ive EASILY bought 20 different things from aliexpress.  the down side is waiting upwards of a month to receive your items from china.

  8. ............who had an grand opening/open house at his new warehouse down the street from me.  i couldn't go because my son was having surgery, HOWEVER i went today and picked up a few essentials for the Journey.... and they threw in a hat for the lil guy too!!  LOL

    not to start cleaning............

anyone else use Adams?  if not you should try the stuff out!!!

Better than the SRT menu, from what I saw in the video, you can use this to enable your DRLs, something dealers can't do.  Not only that, but apparently you can even control how bright they are . . . . .

Can't link to the post because the group in question is closed.

by DRL's you mean daytime running lights?  on my car you can enable OR disable them.  is that just a US thing?

also they guy that did the mod told me THIS is the cable he used.  under $100.00 for a sweet mod in total (software & cable)
