  1. I have a 2017 crossroad too, and I haven't had the Connect issue (knock on wood), but I know when/if I do have an issue my dealership is going to be the main problem... Seems to be a common thing with dodge/chrysler dealers. I definitely think it would help them out if they did something to change their poor service to current owners.
  2. I read through a different forum that someone had the same type rattle, they actually had 2 things they had to get fixed to get rid of it. They said the debris guard by the wipers needed to have one of the rubber clips replaced and their A/C hoses weren't tied down properly underneath the dash. They also mentioned that the only way to access the hoses was through the engine bay. Maybe that could be something to look into for yours? Mine is at all speeds though and seems to come directly from the center, it's not big deal but it definitely tugs at my OCD strings, haha
  3. Thanks for that! It's not something that's worrying so I'm just going to wait until I take it in for my next oil change, but I appreciate the offer to help! I just wanted to see if there was something I could troubleshoot by myself first.
  4. Sorry to hear that you're having problems... for an 8 year old vehicle to have 140,000 miles on it, it had to be driven WAY over the normal 12,000 average miles per year. My guess is that it was a rental car, which almost definitely means it was put through some tough drivers. You didn't mention what problems you were having, or where you bought it from.
  5. Oh I know, I just wanted to check on here and see if anyone else has the same problem or had gotten a similar rattle fixed. Especially if it's something I can remedy myself without spending a whole day at the dealer!
  6. So recently I've been getting a weird mystery rattle in the dash.. close to the windshield in the center. It sounds like plastic, but applying pressure to any of the dash panels doesn't make it go away while driving. When I lean closer it sounds like it's coming from INSIDE the dash area, but it's very constant. Last night I went through and removed everything from the glove box, bottom storage cubby, anything that might be causing the problem that isn't part of the car and it's still there. Is anyone else experiencing this? My DJ is a 2017 Crossroad Plus, and it has about 18k on it now. I know this sounds like a little thing, but it is driving me NUTS!!! Thanks!
  7. I second Bryman here... I have a 2017, and at night the camera is next to useless. The screen resolution sucks and everything turns a blueish shade and you can't make anything out. The camera seems to be much better on the newer models (pacifica, durango, charger) but I don't think there is much we can do to improve ours.
  8. I have the backup sensors and to be honest, they drive me a little crazy. They don't alert you to anything that isn't within view of the camera, it's loud and turns the music off when it beeps. Whenever I pull out of my garage it goes insane.
  9. It wouldn't hurt to have it looked at by someone else. The dealer here is infamous for sucking money out of thin air, or at least trying to. It seems like a bit portion of this list pertains to seals though, which can leak at anytime really. Also, a dealer may have a more strict standard for what they consider "acceptable" condition, especially when it comes to components that have "play". If you've driven it hard, and had it parked outside for most of the time you had it then I would say that perhaps these are all necessary, but again it wouldn't hurt at all to have it looked over. Let us know what you decide on, I'd be interested to hear whether the dealer was just trying to drain your wallet.
  10. Well golly day that's a lot of driving! Glad to hear about the positive experience with your DJ! Makes all of us new owners happy to see more positive posts
  11. If it doesn't fold flat when you use the lever on the side then it doesn't have the option. On mine you just hold the lever that adjusts the seat back position and it folds itself flat.
  12. I've actually replaced quite a few, though I had a 2013 Honda Civic that had such a steeply raked windshield nothing ever hit it directly... I do mostly highway driving and have had quite a few scare/squint moments when a pretty sizable rock hit the windshield and much to my surprise nothing happened with the DJ *crosses fingers* My 2004 Chevy Blazer had a new chip/crack every other month though, it was a nightmare! Sorry that you had to replace yours, bad things happen every once in a while.
  13. I have a 2017 Journey Crossroad and I have a noise similar to what you are describing. It happens mostly when I'm going slow over a speed bump. There are tons of topics on this and I can't believe the dealer doesn't have a TSB to look at for this issue as many people have the same one. It doesn't bother me much, and I did have them look everything over and they said it was fine so I'm not too worried. The dealer here said that a lot of the Journeys make that noise, and they haven't found a definite solution to it, but also reassured me that the performance/safety of the suspension isn't compromised. Take a look through some of the forum topics and maybe you'll find one where they got the noise solved, then you can see if the dealer would be able to try the same to rectify the noise. Sorry about your experience, and I hope you get it solved!
  14. Welcome and congrats! It looks great! I see a lot of the GT models WITHOUT the roof rack and I think it looks 10x better with it, the devil is in the details :-P
  15. Thanks! I'll have to look into that! I didn't think much of it when I first bought the car but I do remember setting my old Civic windows that way!
  16. I have the Crossroad Plus as well, though its just auto down for the drivers side, and the passenger is not auto at all. The GT does have it on both Up and Down for the driver and passenger. I have prepaid maintenance for 3 years, so I do still go in around when the sticker says to, not so much because I think I need to but because I want them to have to spend more by shortening my oil change intervals! I have heard them quote a customer 5200 for a warranty they could get through molar directly for 3200, so they are slimeballs.
  17. Yup! Even the base journey has the maintenance schedule reminder, letting you know when you should get an oil change. The manual for the V6 says do not go longer then 10k miles though.
  18. Welcome! The first gen CR-Vs were great! Had one myself for about two years and it never missed a beat. Looking at them now though they are a completely different machine, all gizmos and tricks... Hope everything is going well with your Journey!
  19. Hi KM! Welcome to the forums! From what I've read they do seem to be more trouble than they are worth. I may have read incorrectly but I read there's a lot of electrical hurdles when changing to the 8.4 stereo. Given all of the electronics involved it would be smartest to get an estimate from the dealer first. The head unit itself is roughly $1300.00. If you can live without it, that's something I would skip. The foglight addition probably would be a lot easier, and I have seen a ton of kits on amazon and eBay, all of them look pretty simple to install.
  20. Dang! 35k on an 09? Did they not drive it very often? Was it a second vehicle? If you bought it from somewhere reputable and had it looked over I would say so. To er on the cautious side though you have to be weary of an 8 year old vehicle that only got 4k of use each year. If the low mileage is due to just a short commute I would say it's fine since it got regular use. If the car sat for long periods of time then I would have it looked over pretty thoroughly just for peace of mind. Look through the forums on here and you can find quite a few common problems with the 09 year, brakes and the transmission lock being two that I think I've read the most about. Those also may not have been addressed by the previous owner if it wasn't driven too often. Either way, congratulations on your new Journey! I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as everyone on here has (for the most part). If you have any questions about it or the maintenance feel free to ask away, everyone on here is pretty helpful!
  21. I have a 2017 crossroad plus, if I'm not mistaken I think it has a majority of the same components... I'm at 14k and have experienced the suspension noises everyone else mentions, but I don't think it's an actual problem with the suspension. Haven't had any major problems with bluetooth or HVAC so far either. The transmission does drive me bonkers at times though, especially in stop and go traffic, the "clunk" when shifting into gears and the occasional hard downshift when braking. Nothing is wrong with the transmission though so I just learned to grit my teeth and deal. That being said 2016 is a relatively new model year, and any common issues probably haven't been experience by many people yet. To be safe I would just get the mopar extended warranty, in the long haul it will pay for itself.
  22. @jkeaton has a point... They build the DJ to a price, and the 4cyl engine is definitely one of the ways they make it affordable. As for your other problems I'm sorry to hear about them, I only have 14k on mine so far but fingers crossed I don't run into many problems. A/C systems are fickle things though, I had a Honda for a few years that decided every summer it wasn't going to blow cold air.
  23. It seems like a decent price, I would ask to see the carfax report though. Just to see if it was a rental unit at one point. The journey is a very popular car on rental lots (that's actually where I first drove a Journey) and people drive them hard so you may have more problems. If it's not a previous rental then I would say go test drive it and make sure everything checks out!
  24. Oh no it absolutely would, I wasn't trying to say it wouldn't. I was just stating why, and yeah, some of the dealers around here like to play hardball and add on whatever they can get you to fall for. They actually have dedicated sales personnel just for the things that they put on for you after you buy the car. I'm sure it has been marked up by at least 300% but people here in the DC area must not do their research beforehand!
  25. They sell it as an alternative to products like LoJack. If the car is ever stolen they can recover it by tracking it via GPS. They also send you information about the driving habits of whoever has the car, like if you were buying a Dart for your son or daughter it would tell you when they were using it, where they were using it and how fast it was going. Strange they didn't offer it to you, I've been to a few dealers and they always put the hard sell on for that.
