It looks like I am the furthest east so far.
  2. I find the sound system adequate. Unless you drive the long haul every day, how much time do you spend in your car to worry about the speakers? The majority of my trips are 10 - 15 minutes or less.

    Hey!

    Welcome to the site.
  4. I had the CEL on my Journey but after several cycles it cleared. Here is what happened in my case: I hit the push button to start, but too quickly and not hard enough. The engine started to crank then stopped. I pressed it again and got a long crank time which tripped the CEL. No problems since and I'm more careful when hitting the start button.
  5. Merry Christmas to all.
  6. Thanks for the update. $2,800, while still a bitter pill to swallow is a lot easier to take than $6,100+. You'll be able to drive safely with peace of mind when it is back.
  7. I get great gas mileage according to the EVIC when coasting down hill!
  8. For several years we had Jeeps with 4WD. It was fun getting dirty looks from all of the stuck drivers when I cruised past them in my lifted Wrangler Unlimited with A/T tires. 18" of snow? No problemo!
  9. First, sorry about your father. As to the rest of your post I agree, and have noticed the Journey is a good coaster. It just keeps rollin' along. The transmission, smooth as butter. I'm getting decent highway MPG in mine (27-28). Just over 1 month and 1,300 miles and I am very impressed with the Journey. I kind of regret not buying one sooner.
  10. I haven't had mine long enough to drive it in snow. I'm happy to hear yours performed well. Personally, I've never had issue with snow in any of my FWD vehicles with all season tires and I live in a hilly area. Even with our Neon I was getting around quite well. I have a set of winter tires that I will probably put on the DJ next month that I have sitting in my garage. My FWD Jeep Cherokee got around in the snow too:
  11. 'Barn find' 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona doesn't run, but is worth a ton This “barn find” was actually discovered under a shed, but that doesn’t make it any less of a diamond in the rough. A rusty, but very original 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona that has seen much better days may be seeing them again soon, as it’s set to cross the block at the upcoming Mecum Auctions event Kissimmee, Fla., in January. http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2015/12/14/barn-find-16-dodge-daytona-charger-doesnt-run-but-is-worth-ton/?intcmp=hpff I'd like to find something like that!
  12. They do grab the road, but fuel economy takes a hit.
  13. See what happens when you put one of the original wheels back on. (3 good winter, 1 known good summer).
  14. I am going to be swapping between the stock 225/65R17 tires with a set of 225/60R17 winter tires I have, a .9" difference in height. The difference in the speedo is negligible. The winter tires will only be mounted 3-4 months.
  15. Welcome to the forum and congrats on your DJ.
  16. Nice Journey, nice review.
  17. Not a lemon, I just requested some service and they gave me the run around. First it was with the DRL and them telling me it wasn't possible. Next, it was with the door sill scuff guards (part #82213523). Moparownerconnect lists them as standard equipment for my VIN# but they insist I shouldn't have them. You'd think after buying two cars in 5 months they would be willing to please the customer.
  18. I got my son's Patriot there back in June and my Journey there last month.
  19. Do yourself a favor and don't do business there. Their service leaves much to be desired. Just look at their reviews on Yelp I'd rather walk.
  20. Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new Journey.
