I don't see anything to pop a screwdriver under except in the part of the mirror where there is a tiny gap between the painted part towards the front of the car and the unpainted part towards the part with glass in it.

Do you mean under the triangular part that attaches to the door? When looking at the bottom of the mirror, if I fold it, there is one black screw there too.

I have the paint peeling problem and want to repaint the mirrors. I can paint them but after I removed the mirror from the vehicle I cant seem to figure out how to seperate the plastic peices (so I can paint the single section). I am afraid of damaging them if I try to figure it out on my own and I didn't see anything in the forums about it.

You may be right about that.

With respect, I live out in the boonies and I'm hoping to avoid a trip if I can. I may not have a choice I guess.

Also, I know the solid indicator light is supposed to indicate a minor problem or oxygen in the gasoline, but I don't know why I am not getting a code.

My check engine light came on yesterday. It does not flash, but comes on when the car is on and stays on. I tried the turn the key to on three times but I don't get any odometer code. It just runs the cycle and then says "dOnE". I have not found a thread that has been helpful yet, but I'll keep looking. Any help is appreciated as I don't know much about mechanical things.
