  1. Have a 2013 Journey Crew. Just brought it in as the rear passenger brakes were smoking, turns out it was a seized caliper. Rotor is warped and pads need to be changed......all this with 45,000 kms? Of course, the rear driver's side wasn't in much better condition so it's a full rotor, pads and caliper change on both sides. I am an old guy who drives the speed limit (sorry about that young folks!) and really don't consider myself to be hard on brakes. After reading the many posts on brake and caliper issues I can only think that the braking system on these journeys are woefully inadequate. As I've had 7 other issues with this Journey (3 on recall and 4 on warranty) my faith in Journeys is at an all time low. I'm getting close to "trade in time" (and not for another Journey).
  2. Same problem with our 2013 Journey Crew. As well, the radio sometimes changed stations by itself. Then Navigation maps were wiped out and didn't work. Local dealership put in a new radio (under warranty) and everything works fine now. I know, really strange...
  3. I also have a 2013 DJ Crew and about every 8th shift from park to drive is brutal. Loud clunk noise, sounds the tranny is about to drop. Not really sure why. It happens even if I am on a flat surface, engine cold or hot. I can't seem to find a common denominator as to what would prompt it to do that, just has a mind of it's own.
  4. Update on my original post from 21 Oct 15, brought the 13' Crew to the dealership and they said it was due to the liquid inside the cylinder that leaked and caused the rusting. Sounds strange to me as both rear arms were replaced due to rust. Anyhow, they ordered the part and changed them on warranty, just glad it's repaired and cost me zilch...
  5. Had the tensioner/idler pulley changed this week due to noise on cold startups. It's still cold out and haven't heard the noise since having the new one put in. It was done under warranty as there is a TSB out for this issue.
  6. Not sure if this is the same issue (pulley) or not, but on cold starts (-1C or colder) there is what sounds like a flute noise that lasts for 2-3 minutes then disappears. It's not a high pitched noise so am not sure what it is. It's a 2013 Crew. Any ideas folks? Update: my original post was from yesterday, the low flute noise still goes away after 2-3 minutes but now the noise appears briefly (3 seconds) after I touch the brakes, every time!. Have an appointment for late next week at the dealership, will let you know what they say...
  7. Welcome aboard and as other posters have stated, we are also seeing better than advertised fuel consumption. (presently have 20,000km/12,000m)

    Hey!

Glad you joined. I have a 2013 Crew and apart from a minor part replacement have enjoyed no negative issues.
  9. Thanks folks, will bring it up to the dealership next time I bring it in.
  10. Have a 2013 Journey Crew. Recently noticed that the 2 arms that hold up the rear hatch when opened are rusting. The rust is concentrated in the area where the chrome inner cylinder meets the outer black cylinder. It was fairly heavy rust so i cleaned it up and applied a dab of rust inhibitor to the area, being careful not to get any on the inner chrome tube. We live in an area where the roads are heavily salted in the winter and I realize this is a rust haven for vehicles but am mystified this is happening on a 2 year old vehicle with 17,000 km's. Anybody else out there having this issue? Thanks in advance!
