  1. Just got my 3rd radio put in; it seems that the radios last for appoox 2 years! Cause I changed the radios in May 2015 and in May 2017 my Journey is a 2013. Now the radio is model CTP 17 software version 7.09 and GPS 4.15.06. Hope this is the last one that I put in. You would think that FCA would have find the problem with the radio my now! May be they are not even looking for a solution they just replacing the radio hoping it will fix itself.
  2. I am back from the dealer and they have to replace the radio again, because of the 'cannot unlock maps' my Journey 2013. I requested a new unit to the dealer because I told them that when they change this radio it will be the third radio on this Journey. They answer was; they cannot do it, I told him to make a special request and I will phone FCA, he wrote on the work order. Just spoke to FCA and they told me they cannot send a new radio and that the new refurbished unit have the newest upgrade and that the issue should be fixed. I told the agent that I hope the issue will be fixed with this one and I do not have to change it again. I mentionned to her that it seems to me that I have to change radio every two years or so. I also said what is going to happen when the warranty is over and I have to change the radio in 2019. She said that they will have to review the situation if this happen again and she mentionned that it should not. I hope she is right. Now have to wait one week before the radio arrives. The dealer did not say anything about any charges for the replacement. Hopefully the extended warranty should cover it.
  3. Here we go again, I have to go back to the dealer to get my radio check because I have this 'Can't unlock maps' ' No map data available'. My last radio was replaced in April 2015. I really think that FCA knows that they have a real problem with this NAV system. I do not think that it is normal to change radio so often, there must be a glitch with software. I have the extended warranty to 117KM hopefully it will cover the replacement radio. More to follow I updated the radio on 1 March 2016 and it is model CTP 16, GPS 4.15.06, version NAV 6.22, 8.4N MY13-MY14-MY15 NAFTA RB5 RB6. Not sure what most of those numbers are but that is was I saw on the radio. Can I not request that FCA put a new radio in it, instead of a refurbished one.

  5. I have been driving the Journey for few weeks now and I did not get that problem again; station changing by itself. Not sure if it is the update that fIxed it or it was one of those ghost problem! LOL
  6. Just finished updating my radio to 15-26-63 and my nav to version 6.22 and it was a success . Now I will drive it for few days and hope it fix the problem of the radio station changing by themselves.
  7. Ok I will try that. Thanks Bramfrank for the info. I will try the update also.
  8. The dealer changed my radio in May 2015 because the map could not unlock. Last week I went for the antilock brake recall and the idler pulley. Now my radio station at times change by itself. I am listening to a station and it change to the next one. This happened a few times in the past few days. Anyone is having the same problem??? Could that be part of that R65 radio reprogram issue.
  9. Just came back from the dealer and they replaced the idler pulley. Hopefully now I will not listen to that noise again. Also they did the recall R61 for the ABS.
  10. Does anyone have problems with their transmission. I have a DJ 2013 Crew. What I mean is that when I first take the DJ in the morning I find that the transmission shift hard and make a bang sound. When the engine has warm up it does not shift as hard. Is this normal ??
  11. When I bought the DJ I took the 7 years 115 km warranty. Hope it is going to be good for me.
  12. Well went to the dealer and they change the radio and did the update. Took them approx 45 mins. But I had to wait couple hours before they started to work on it. They told me after the warranty is over I am on my own. Hope it will last; because I think that if they are aware of a problem with the radio or the programming they should be responsible to fix it.
  13. I am glad to read this; that they check the problem with any component that fail. I thought that they just discard it and that was the end of it. Thanks for the info. Are you aware if the Challenger, Charger, Dart or any other vehicle have the same issue ?
  14. I know it is unnecessary, they will have to change it anyway. I will have to leave the car probably overnight for them to reproduce the noise. It would have been more pleasant for the technician to work on it now because the part would not be as cold.
  15. Took my DJ in yesterday for radio problem and also took the TSB so they can replace the pulley and they told me that they have to wait for colder weather to replicate the problem. I could hear that high pitch noise when it was very cold, but I thought its was the alternator until I saw the TSB. Now I have to wait until next winter for them to look at it. What a pain!!!
