Another update: dealer service advisor said the mechanic determined my 2015 DJ has a bad 'filler neck' on the gas tank area and they ordered a replacement from either Tenn. / Ohio and it will take about ten days (?) to get to the dealer for replacement! So, that's what has been done thus far but the real deal will be to see if it takes gas normally after the replacement filler neck installation! Next update will be awhile...

Picked up a new 2015 R/T Saturday. Shopped online for a couple months and narrowed down some choices and finally decided on the Journey.
It's not as fast as the red car in front of it but it hauls much more

Nope, not me. We are in Guelph.
It's not like they are exactly a rare sight around here. Sometimes on the short commute to work I feel like every 5th vehicle I see is a Journey!

I know this is somewhat old, but wanted to add some info for changing out wheel hub/bearing parts. They generally now come as a single assembly (and with ABS equipped vehicles, have a wheel speed sensor built in as well). It also means you don't pack grease into a wheel bearing ever again. It's a single component that, for the front axle, allows the drive shaft to rest in the middle to drive the actual flange with mounting points for your rotor and wheel. The GC/T&C wheel hub has a total of 5 pieces of mounting hardware (4 bolts to hold the body of the wheel hub and bearing assembly to the steering knuckle, and 1 VERY large nut - I think it's a 30mm or 32mm - to hold the axle half shaft end in the hub assembly. I changed out the wheel hub/bearing on my sister's (my old) '05 Cavalier - it took about 2 hours, and was a job I had never done before. They aren't hard to work on (if you have the right tools).
Also, the wheel bearing/hub assembly is the first component in the drive line that is NOT covered by the powertrain warranty. It is covered under bumper-to-bumper warranty, and may be covered by a Chrysler service contract depending on which one you bought, but the 60 month/100,000 mile (or km if you live north of the border) powertrain warranty does not cover them (as far as I remember from the warranty booklet).

Just read this whole thread, and am curious about something YellowDuck. On the crescent I live on here in Kitchener, Ontario there is a pearl white Journey at, I believe, the house second from the entrance to the crescent. There used to be two Jeeps in the driveway, is it possible its your Journey?

Save all your oil and filter receipts and keep track of what mileage you changed your oil at because if something does happen and you cannot prove that regular maintenance was performed on the vehicle your warranty will be void.

A few weeks ago I finally got to give this car my "ultimate test", which was to see how it handled the rough, wash-boardy and pot-holey road into our cottage. Our 2008 Wrangler Unlimited gets pretty flustered over that road at anything above a walking pace - those two live axles really get bouncing!
The DJ was another world. A pass with flying colours. Really, it would be hard not to be better than the Jeep, but we were still very pleased. Also generally a much more comfortable place to be for the almost 3-h highway trip up there to the lake.

Just hit the 25,000 km mark, with not a single problem to report. I am doing the service according to the "change oil" message, which is a bit freaky when it goes 16k without wanting oil.
Still love the car. Have learned a few cool new things about it. Like, I just discovered the "triple blink" turn signal lane change feature when you move the stalk but not all the way to the detent.
Cooler than that....going down steep hills with cruise control on, if the speed drifts up too high, the transmission will automagically downshift one or several gears to provide engine braking. When did cars start doing that? I was impressed.
This car was *so* the correct choice for my family. Perfect comfortable place for the 3-h trip to the cottage. Also, plenty of power, yet returning consumption better (lower) than 9.5 L / 100 km combined.

Chrysler has actually had that feature for years. My 2000 300M incorporates something called "grade logic" on its cruise control system. It also downshifts to 3rd (it's a four speed automatic 42LE transmission) if the speed increases significantly beyond the set speed. One thing that it does that the Journey does not is that when ascending a hill, the transmission stays in overdrive and the torque converter remains locked, using only the engine's power to maintain speed as opposed to downshifting right away to maintain speed. That irritates me to no end and it is so unnecessary. The 3.6 has more than ample power to maintain speed on most hills. Only if the speed drops with nearly full throttle applied will the 300M open the torque converter, and as a last resort will drop to 3rd to keep the pace. I think I only saw that once while driving 75 MPH on the Interstates in New Hampshire. I cannot understand why this programming was not incorporated in the Journey's 62TE transmission. If I ever get hold of one of the engineers, that's one question I would love to have explained.
Like you, this car is also the perfect fit for us - I can't imagine a more ideal size and configuration. We're always comfortable and there's always enough room for anything we need.

Well I am sad to report that our Journey's flawless reliability record came to a screeching halt at 33,000 km.
The disk player has been broken for quite a while (disk won't eject) but that wasn't an important enough issue for me to take it to the dealer until regular service was due.
Then, on Jan 5 we returned from vacation and picked the car up from the valet park and fly lot at the airport. The Nav wasn't working - said that there were no maps loaded on the unit. So, I took it to the dealer the next day. They examined it, decided both problems were internal to the radio and ordered a new radio. They told me to come get the car in the meantime since it would take a while for the radio to arrive.
The next day, various warning lights started coming on intermittently (ABS, traction control, and a "service AWD" message on the EVIC). Turning the car off and then on again would cancel them, but they eventually would come on again. I was able to ascertain that when the lights were off, ABS and traction control (and presumably AWD) were working normally, but when the lights came on all that stuff really was inoperative - easy to test that on snowy roads.
Eventually, all of those warning lights were on full time and could not be reset. It was like driving a FWD car from 1985 with no electronic aids at all - doable, but not fun on the 401 in the snow.
Took it back to the dealer Friday morning saying I didn't want it back until it was fixed. They called me at the end of the day to tell me they hadn't been able to track down the source of the problem yet.
I'm disappointed. Love the car but I feel like it let me down. Only a year in on a $40-k car and major systems failure. Hopefully they can figure it out and effect a 100% fix.

Okay, so half an hour after that last post, the dealership called me. They say it is all fixed. Problem was with the driver's side rear hub, which was also affecting the sensors located there. Radio is changed out as well. Pretty good service, seeing as it is only 10:00 Monday morning.
Will report back if there are any further problems, but at this point it is looking like a quick resolution!

Thanks. The actual mechanics report says that there was a corroded sensor connector, and they couldn't separate the two sensor halves, which necessitated changing the entire hub and bearing (?). Anyway it all worked properly on the drive home.

Yeah, I think they are a part of the hub... you know, so they can charge an arm and a leg should they ever fail. At least your dealer is competent enough to make the diagnosis and repair. With all of the horror stories you hear, I sometimes wonder if I am just really lucky to have 2 good dealers withing 20 miles of my home.

Yes, thanks. I am back to loving everything about this car. Over a year old now and I still feel like it is brand new. I think when you are the kind of person who only buys a new car every ten years or so, it takes a long time for the novelty to wear off!

Well, you'll probably get the same TSB fix to the fuel module that doesn't really fix anything! Many of us had the TSB done, and still have the problem of only gassing up to 7/8 full.
I personally think it's a fuel gauge problem. I've ran the vehicle for ~30 miles after the low fuel light came on. Then gassed up 19 gallons of fuel (20.5 gallon tank). But the gauge still shows 7/8 full. I think we really are using the full gas tank, just the gauge is off...

Update: Today I took the DJ to the dealer and dropped it off for them to investigate the gassing up problem I've had since purchase. I wasn't able to drop it off and leave it overnight or for a few days until now so that's the reason for such a long delay in getting the problem addressed (and fixed I surely hope). The first time I took it in it was 7/8 full and they wanted me to bring it back when it was about 1/2 full so the technician can try and duplicate the problem in order to try and fix it. Journeyman425 has been a great resource to many of us here on this forum/blog and I want to publicly thank him for his willingness to be of assistance! I will post an update on the results and findings of my gassing up problem as soon as I find out anything, have a good day all.

Pearl White is pretty nice, mine still looks new after a good wash (which occurs less often as time goes on) . I have noticed a few spots on my rear bumper that just wont come off but other than that I have been pleased with the white. I cant say I have noticed a difference in color but now that you have mentioned it I will give a look after its next wash.
    Good luck with your Journey.

Congratulations on your new Journey. You're right about the satellite radio, we did a long road trip in the spring and we loved it. A little tip if and when you want to renew, call them and ask to speak to a supervisor when they will only give you a small discount. I haggled until I got it for a little over $100.00. They originally wanted $225.00.
