I have more than 8000 kms on the odometer and still no oil change warning.Should I be concerned or should I just take it to the dealer to get the oil changed nonetheless?Please advise. rolly Posted May 19, 2015 Report Share Posted May 19, 2015 I know how you feel about changing the oil. I always changed my oil every 5,000 kilometres and it took me a while to get out of the habit. You should be fine. The manual recommends every 16,000 kilometres or no longer than one year. I haven't got totally over my old habits though, I changed my oil at 10,000 kilometres last time. My oil change warning has never come on yet. A lot depends on the type of driving you do. I have over 57,000 kilometres now and like you say it's a real treat. When I hit 7K on the new one and nothing happened I went in I gave in and had the oil changed - in my opinion especially important that the first change be done to flush out any filings that may be clogging the filter or just floating around.
